* Both are slice of life shows dealing with music industry.... * Both have lots of awesome/funny/memorable moments (songs/music/great characters) * Both are short series ( by episode length ) * Really great characters with unusual designs..

- Both deal about music and emphazise on the Ganbatte Setting. - Though Beck is more a drama and Agetarou more a comedy both have a good atmosphere and emit this unique non mainstream aura feeling - relationships are devloped outside from the usual High School box and feel more real and less stereoptyped - the music itself is good to listen to and will be enjoyed by music fans with a variaty in taste.

Both shows have similar art, and similar quick-format storytelling. The setting and story are both completely different, but the tone of the characters and how they're written feels very similar between the two shows. I feel like if you enjoy one, you'll most likely enjoy the other.

Really avant-garde and zany anime about DJing. You'll definitely like this one if you like the other.

Our protagonist, with the help of someone, try to gather as many people as possible in their performance in clubs or something similar. DJ for Agetarou, singer for Eiko. EDM is really present in both animes.

Both make a faithful representation of the treated themes (ping pong and DJ music), this representation is shown in a way that inspires you to do it yourself. Characters with the same desire to evolve their talents. An unusual graphic art, but when you get used to it you start to like it. However completely different genres PPTA is a drama and Tonkatsu is totally a comedy.

* Music-centric story; diverse & vibrant soundtrack * Definite sleeper hits of 2016 * Wacky yet lovable cast with a generally chill and entertaining dynamic, in which characters' interactions bounce off each other well * Episodic structure that surprisingly shines light on its characters and their personalities * Absurd, fast-paced comedy * Highly stylized, thick-lined art style

-Both are shorter, around 10 minutes~ -They both revolve around characters that have good hearts and good intentions! -Both can be considered Slice of Life -Comedy revolves around character interactions and the stories' bizarre premises. Sunred is a little more absurd. -Both have unique animation that's not considered normal, but are great after getting used to!

A lot of the time the skills you gain doing one thing can be transferred and applied to do something quite different. Agetarou finds the things he learns whilst helping to run the family tonkatsu restaurant can be directly applied to DJing; whilst, in a less drastic way, Sakamichi finds that the muscles and stamina he gained from riding a heavy bike for long distances in order to save money is invaluable in the world of competitive cross-country biking. Both are fast-paced motivational stories with a lot of energy.

They're both gag/comedy anime with different artstyles than usual, except that TDJA's episodes are shorter.

In both shows a person aspires to be a DJ, even though they know nothing of DJing at first. Both have very bad animation style (Tonkatsu is very cartoony and D4DJ is CG) and the music isn't very good compared to what most Western DJs play. But if you are interested in the DJ culture and want to know how they work, both anime are worth watching. In Tonkatsu most of the cast is male, while in in D4DJ the cast is female and much bigger.

* Both manga-adapted shorts with a food premise * Homey restaurant settings * Feel-good, chill atmosphere; really leaves you feeling relaxed and pleasant at the end of each episode * Easygoing, likable protagonists who feel a personal connection with the food they make/eat * Unconventional, cartoonishly simplistic character designs
