Medieval, with a lazy guy who is good strategist.

Both anime revolve around a male MC who is good at solving problems, regardless of if its strategy for fight or war, or fix machinery and coming up with plans, The aura of both anime are similar however the Male MC In both of this anime are similar but also have there differences. Setting is different in terms of Log horizon being set in a game and Uta' no Kamen It a world full of Animal ears and Tails, But still have that action theme running strongly through both animes. Definitely recommend watching both these anime

Politics, fantasy, comedy, a MC that doesn't want to do anything but gets pulled into it with a complex backstory. A subtle romance going on in the background as the MCs get to know each other. Not quite but kinda get the vibe.

Similarities - Both have a medieval era village sort of setting - Both involve a character ( Or characters in Uta's case) with animal ears and tail - Both have a long-distance adventure feel to it - The main character pair in each anime have a normal-looking guy and a animal-like female - The Main pair are surrounded by a colorful cast Differences : - Spice and Wolf is more centered around economy and merchants, while Utawarerumono is more centered around the main guy (Haku) and his adapting to the world he is thrust into - Utawaremono has a larger cast of main characters the Spice and Wolf does

* Both takes places in Medieval times/fantasy worlds * Both have main character pairs in each, a normal-looking guy and a animal-like female * Both have pretty big supporting cast... * Action scenes with medieval weaponry/magic * Really nice character designs in both... * Feels trip....(oh boy) * Epic OST's....stands out in both of these series...

Right away I got the vibe of Spice and Wolf from this anime. Spice and Wolf seems to have the setting of a pioneering type, taking place before modern technology. In both anime, there is a small village to start out, and with the same direction they head to a capital city to do some trade or work. From the very start there is work and the world has its own currency system in which the characters are working to gain. From this work system, there is something beyond the little villages and the characters will see something more. Not only that, but the main characters find  read more

There's a similar medieval japanese/chinese atmosphere to the capital city of both series, where the story is set. Both series' casts lead a similar life with a facet of secrecy and acting mostly in their city. Saraiya Goyou is much more seinen, there's that quirky mature aspect Ono Natsume always goes for (other works including ACCA and Ristorante Paradiso), the story is from the beginning driven by the strong motivations of characters which very slowly surface as the series goes on. It follows a kind of clumsy ronin with no good idea to make a living, slowly getting involved with shady business. Uta: Itsuwari no Kamen, being a  read more

It's surprising to see that this comparison hasn't been made already. Both of these two anime present a similar mood, though the similarity in terms of genre and themes only begin to appear after around the 20th episode in Utawarerumono (hope I'm not spoiling too much). Both anime have a strong sense of mystery, and focus indirectly on world building, approaching the plot from a character-development point of view. Both are set in post apocalyptic fantasy worlds, where both worlds don't feel post apocalyptic, and both have plenty of humanoid characters as well.
