Everything comes together in the end. Events happened during the series seems unrelated, but there's something in them that reveals a much bigger scheme at the end. Baccano! is a much better series to watch though, honestly. At least it won't let you hanging. So if you're reading this from Baccano!'s side, my bad. It shows up both ways. Shikatanaimon.

Both of the protagonists (Lelouch/Koko) are young and very clever people who portray themselves as villains, using illicit methods in order to obtain world peace. The motivations to obtain their goals seem to depend, more or less, on some younger companions (Nunnally/Jonah). Both anime also involve lots of violence and strategies to execute their plans.

If you loved Koko, her madness, power, and fearless nature. You will love two hands from Black lagoon.

* = CONTAINS SOME SPOILERS -Both of these anime deal with the theme of trying to be as equal or greater than god -Also deals with the sense making the world a better place to live in. -Using violence in order to stop violence is quite present in both anime *Death Note deals with killing criminals to achieve the goal and in Jormungand stopping all wars by shutting down the skies *In order to achieve these goals, Light uses a death note while Koko uses satellites and a quantum computer

"I'll be here sitting on my couch with my bud, eating popcorn while watching every man in this world kill each other" Casper Hekmatyar & Johan Liebert But on a serious note though if you like shows with characters that has counter-idealistic human nature you should try one or the other.

Both are sequels/continuation of their respective previous seasons, both with the emphasis of macro-military warfare and power struggles between factions and countries.
