Both of these movies are undoubtedly the most visually stunning works in their own right. In terms of plot elements and settings, both stories revolve around a TOWER of GARGANTUAN proportions, combat & conflict is involved and have a relatively "okay-ish" plot. Without going into spoiler territory, you can say that both have the concept of "sacrificing someone for the sake of saving the world."
