Hikari to Mizu no Daphne

In both, women basically do what they want, regardless of havoc in other people's lives (especially the poor protagonists'), and both use much humor derived from personalities and character interactions.  

The series "Daphne in the Brilliant Blue" (Hikari to Mizu no Daphne) and "Burst Angel" (Bakuretsu Tenshi) have several things in common. Both stories are set in a future time where the government employs hired mercenaries to track down criminals. The main cast in both of these series feature a group of skilled females (aka girls with guns) who wear rather revealing outfits. At least one of the main characters in each of these series has a somewhat mysterious past that is explored over the course of the story. 

Although in Daphne they're not a police force, but some sort of odd jobs mercenaries, the kind of missions they do are similar to You're under arrest's. 

Both shows take place on a mostly flooded planet, in a city built in the sea. In these cities, some girls are living their daily lives and do more or less odd jobs. Both their professions are named after legendary water spirits (Undines in Aria, Nereids in Daphne). The protagonists Akari Mizunashi (Aria) and Maia Mizuki (Daphne) have similar age, appearances and personalities. Both start into their new job at the beginning of the series, and move into the upper floor of their working place. From there, they slowly learn the tricks of their new trade. They have a similar setting: what amounts to large cities on the ocean. The pacing is also similar.  

Very similar humor (usually of the "everything sucks" variety), similar protagonists, similar setting of a future in which the human population is smaller than it is now 

Girls with guns and lots of buttshots. Daphne has thongs, Najica white panties, pick your preference. 

There both set in the future and both has great action sceans. 

Most of the major characters have really bad (or, at least, self-serving) personalities in some way or other. Both shows create lots of similar humor from their characters' differences. The characters still seem accomplish their respective teams' goals. Also, both shows have a character who is obsessed with guns. 

Holy cow! Are Daphne in the Brilliant Blue and Agent Aika lame excuses for panty shows? Lets find out! Pantyshots in every scene? check! Little or no plot? check! Girls or young women running around in useless costums and lingerie? check! Bad story? check! Women doing things that aren't natural for women to do like being physically and emotionally strong, gutsy, doing stunts that are impossible even for a man, while acting macho? check! Splashy action scenes? check! Lots of weird or make-believe vehicles? check! Lame humor? check! Overly simplified art? check! Overly emphasized buttcracks and nipples? check! A catastrophic event leaving most of Earth under water? check! Women walking down the street half naked and wearing extremely provactive clothing while at work on a daily basis? check! Bad acting + weak storyine + simply art but overly emphasized nipples & buttcracks + no real plot = lame excuse for a panty show. read more
