Interesting blog, waiting for your opinion on the MAL review system. Also you should rewrite your "Plot Directionality / Pacing" explanation section; not really intelligible.

Will you be my new sensei? it's an unavoidable yes. Because I can learn from your posts, and level up!

In reply to your post in mean score thread
No,you should not change it.YOUR SCORING SYSTEM IS VERY GOOD.You rate good things high and crap low simply showing you can rise up from crowd and rate anime on their merits. Its not underrating

I guess they haven't perfected their algorithm yet. On another note, thanks for the compliment.

So you're basically saying that we both have superior taste, right?

Also, you seem to be from Ontario, as well. Although I'm inclined to guess that you're from Toronto, because, let's face it, everyone who lives in Ontario is from Toronto.

How'd you guess that I was pre-pharmacy student? You could do an undergraduate in Pharmacology because you wanted to go into pharmaceutical research. Then again, I suppose it would be logical to assume pharmacy school since it is a superior option. :P

The equations for the correlation stuff is still up on the forums. I wasn't designing an addon or anything, I was simply doing theoretical formulaic work with a couple of other people. If you have questions about them I can answer them, though I'm not coding an addon for a browser.

you have a pretty deep way of thinking things.
or so it seems, judging from the forum discussion u posted.

It's a pleasure going through your every post, man. Yes, it sure is.

I highly encourage you finish GiTS and Ergo Proxy, by the way.

I wasn't really trying to show incredulousness about your level of sophistication, what was more noticeable for me was that you have such an analytical and scientific approach towards logic in your arguments. Have you ever thought about the philosophy of simplicity? One thing that kept popping up in my head during my Philosophy class last semester was the question of how do you know what is "good" and "desirable?" Is it good to learn as much as you can, or is it better to just lead a simple life, content with what you already have? I think that in the end it doesn't really matter.
SY_IS_DEAD_IRL Jan 27, 2012 9:34 PM
WELL, I just looked at my own profile and realized the reason I recognized your username is probably because you commented on my profile. I never responded.

Though I usually insult people that comment on my profile just to say "nice list," or the dreadful "nice profile pic.' Count yourself lucky.

Speaking of me insulting you, do you want to join #charandtea @ rizon.net ?

Annokano and kaiserpingvin are beloved members in our tiny IRC channel. We have been investigating you, and we have decided that you can, if you want, join and talk to us.

Are you really 17 years old? What's with there being a bunch of completely random very knowledgeable people on MAL?

I am incredulous.
DraconisMarch Jan 25, 2012 3:03 PM
I see. Well, I think you put forth way more effort than was required.

Besides, I think we all know that the general population is far too retarded to be capable of self-government.

Just as I presumed, you really are an interesting guy, Vegeance.

I’m also a Biology geek. In fact, I’ve chosen that subject as my major. Here in my country, Physics and Chemistry are must subjects and are included in both PCB ad PCM (M standing for Mathematics) in Science major. Commerce is another thing, of course. It’s not like I particularly hate mathematics or anything, but yeah, I don’t prefer it over biology. I can relate to that; I mean, I’m also one of those who wants to learn everything, read every book, this world can offer. Neuroscience is my favorite and I’m going to choose that particular aspect in the future, thus become a neurosurgeon. You like mathematics also, huh? You see, what I specifically do not like to do is solving numericals from both mathematics and physics; derivations are cool, though. What I don’t seem to understand is why in the hell is there a need to know a hypothetical car’s velocity (an example) when its distance and other required materials are given. What good will that have on us, us students? That’s just wastage of time, if you ask me. Though, derivations are cool; they are the mathematical operations who prove theories, anyway, so in my humble opinion, they are knowledgeable. Theories are nothing but definitions given by some differently-thinking-scientists if they are not proved through derivations, formulas, etc. I know exactly what you mean; I, also, hate teenagers around my age. They are just too ignorant or maybe it is that they do not want to know those things, and when provided with some important and intelligent information that I, myself, want to share, they ignore it and think it’s too boring, thus subjecting me as a “geek.” Facebook and Justin Bieber-obsessed teens are most annoying; they say I am the one who’s preaching while they are the ones who preach all the time. Still, I have some decent amount of worthy friends so I’m not exactly in your condition to just hate them all. “I love reading or hearing about anything that even remotely sparks an interest in me; you could say, whatever outlets are available (Youtube, magazines, blogs, forums...) both satisfy and gratify my mind,” you said and I solemnly agree.

I agree. In fact, here in India, two or (was it) three, years ago the educational system changed a bit. Rather than provoking students to cram stuff given in their respective academic books to attain high marks, it changed its pattern into continuous and comprehensive evaluation (CCE.) It means that students, after it’s approval, won’t be judged by the so-called marks they’ll get in the final examinations, rather, evaluations (tests, formative assessments) will take place from time to time to check the students’ overall progress and then the final grade will be given on the basis of that and certain other things. It was both a boon and a bane, when it came to our class. Well, it did bear some good results (when compared with last year’s records) so it has been included in the system ever since.

No worries. I have this tendency to delve into the subject and thus make a short conversation into a hectic discussion. Guess we are kinda related. Heh.

Nah, I won’t particularly call it an “interesting place.” Sure some of the so-called traditions, being followed since very long time, are quite elegant and nice, still some suck really badly. I guess every country has problems but this one is quite the thing. Being second highest populated country in the world, you will find people lying on roads, slums, etc. if you ever want to visit. The highest is China, I guess, but the thing in there is that China is a huge country when compared to India so, when you look at the density, you will find that India is the winner. I am quite lucky to be my parents’ son because, well, they are nice parents; they’ve taught me many good things that have helped me numerous times; they’re lovely, and we both, my sister and I, love them very much; they are rich, too. Thanks to them, I have not, yet, experienced the hectic life that they had to suffer when they were young. Eastern-Asian, huh? Cool.

Yes, "ProdiGene" is supposed to be a combination of prodigy and genetic inheritance. Cool, huh?

Damn, after looking at your anime list, you really seem like a hardcore critic. Not that I mind. I like people like you. Don’t sweat it, one would most likely find fanboys of things that they, themselves, don’t like. I am saying that because I, myself, have experienced certain shounen fanboys (Narutards, specifically). They’re all awful, I know. I see you have watched Legend of the Galactic Heroes . Mind reviewing it a bit for me? You see, I had always wanted to watch it but every time I thought of giving it a shot, certain conditions came hurdling the path.

BakaBT, huh? The last I heard, there was this certain allocation that you have to seed the files that you are downloading from that tracker. Is it true? Plus, after hearing that Funimation had started fiddling around with users who were downloading certain things off certain torrent trackers, I gave up torrents and moved on to DDLs and mIRC. I have, as of now, bought premium services of Fileserve and Megaupload because I usually get high-quality anime uploaded on those file-sharing sites. If you want, I can provide you with certain forums that I usually use for getting anime and related stuff.

Clannad, you say? I stoped playing that one because it got boring for me and eventually watched the two seasons of its anime. The anime wasn’t as awesome as some say, but it was a decent watch. Fate/Stay Night was an awful adaptation of a good Visual Novel. Steins;Gate is a great adaptation of a great Visual Novel. I highly encourage you to wither watch the anime or play the Visual Novel. You should download the VN from Erogedownload, it’s the best site I have found for VNs. I’m also not an avid manga reader, though I do read light novels. Do you? Have you read Fate/Zero’s light novel? If not, I highly encourage you to do so because it’s epic—much better than the anime that just aired.

Heh, I guess I understand what you mean by that; when I was an avid forum visitor, I used to do that all the time. I, also, see that particular aspect of yours in the posts you made here at MAL—that ones that I have gone through. Nice meeting you, too. ヽ(^。^)ノ

Well, when you lay down the logical smackdown, people are often lost for words.

Though in fairness, that topic was dying anyway... It had run its course (more than 5 pages of the same old rubbish) and no one presenting any new or interesting takes on it. My post was more of a criticism of the people in the thread than a new argument about the subject to, so its unsurprising it didn't generate any discussion either.

In any case, I'm glad you liked it.
