Both are short bittersweet romance tales from director/author Makoto Shinkai with themes of separation and heartbreak. Kimi no Na wa differs with supernatural elements while Byousoku 5 Centimeter focuses more on the relationships between characters. If your a fan of Makoto Shinkai or short romance tales you'll be sure to like these works.

Both are stories about girls who meets boys in a little village in the countryside with fantastic elements. They're very similar and both are really good.

Although the story and characters are completely different, in both stories time travelling is the centre of the conflict and both protagonists have the objective of fighting against time to reach their final goal.

Both manga have people realizing that there is something missing in their lives. Both main characters find someone they want to meet again. Both have drama with Koe being much more heavy in the department. Both stories involve children/teens making trouble for others around them at some point. Both series had their anime movies air in the same year, and both manga are inferior to their movie counterparts, in my opinion, anyway.

Romance with body changing elements, guy suddenly finds himself in body of unknown girl. Both start as more of a comedy but later change into drama.
