Episode 5 EVA reference?

There is a very long static scene in Evangelion which everyone thought the video was paused and checked their progress bar.
Do you think that Kazuma meeting Eris scene in episode 5 is a reference of this? It’s long enough that feels much more than just a stutter.

Talking about where they switched bodies? I don't think it was a reference. I think they were just temporarily confused. I think I would be too of I suddenly was staring at me. I'm surprised they were not more shocked about the situation, especially the princess. Kazuma at least had a warning from Eris what one of the artifacts did

Nah she's talking about the scene with Eris, the goddes bringing him back to live.
I also thought the video was frozen for a moment, until I saw the mist was still slowly moving.

It's not a reference to anything.
Long pauses as a comedic element has been used for ages.

It's just a coincidence, lol.

Kazuma meeting Eris is called a "dumbfounded" reaction

Because of how Kazuma was acting just before, and then this happens afterwards, Kazuma is at a lost for words cause he's embarrassed at what happened.
