its not a 1 to 1 adaptation. its sort of a reimagining in a modern setting

The old devilman anime is completely different from the manga. Also this isn't 1 to 1 with the manga. Overall 10 episodes is fine length for 5 volumes of manga.

The original Devilman anime and Devilman manga follows two different stories. Crybaby is the modern version adaptation of Devilman manga with some little differences

the 1972 devilman basically doesn’t adapt the manga.
