Should I remember of anything from the game before watching the anime?

I loved the game and want to watch the anime. I know they are different stories, but I still want to know if there is specific context I need to remember.

Not much, the game is just a simplified version without so much symbolism and surrealism of what happens to Lain's character.

Came out for the PS1 at the same time as the anime started airing, written by the same people and everything.
someone made a online port, thats what i linked. it has a bunch of language translations too, so thats cool.
I recommend watching like the first like 7 minutes of the video that's linked on the sites front page, because its a bit confusing to navigate

There's an analysis video on YouTube where the guy summed up the game with the line "happiness does not exist here." So, yeah, very different from the show. They're separate stories, so don't worry about context or spoilers.

Never got to play the game because it doesn't have an English translation, not that I know of. I'm certain there's no problem in watching the show without any prior context.

Not a all, it has different stories and most of the games characters don’t appear in the anime anyway (excluding a few)

Not really. If you really want to, maybe you can kinda compare Lain's internal monologue from the game to her actions in the anime
