Seems to be a very similar premise, where a charismatic, but weak individual gathers up other, stronger or more knowledgeable people to help accomplish their vision and goals that may go against the grain of the current prevailing forces. There are also similarities in that the main character's allies are potentially somewhat manipulative.

Weak MC recruiting getting some people to help him to save his country , kinda familiar
Quite short, both are about people rather isolated at the begining who progressively build a team of heroes. Adventure-based animes, they both occure in a middle-age/fantastic environnement, are easy to watch, with no pretention !
Both series feature great battles and strategising.
Both series have a fun bunch of friends and allies surrounding the main character.
Grancrest Senki offers a finished packet that you will definitely enjoy if you liked Arslan Senki.
