I figured I should manage stuff I've watched in a more organized manner. I'm definitely not a very attentive viewer and I'll forget stuff pretty often.

I'm a pretty soft rater, and I generally like a fun, relaxing watch. I love a lot of trash. When I rate stuff (on my personal list) it's more of an enjoyment scale than a quality scale. I'm well aware that a bunch of <5 scores would start flying if I chose to rate holistically on quality, even, yes, things I've thoroughly enjoyed. I don't care about the source material when rating.

Generally, on my personal list, if it's a 4 or less it means dropped it, though I restrict these only to things I've watched at least halfway through. I won't rate things that I haven't seen at least half of. 5 means I just barely stomached it to the end. 6 means there were some jarring parts that either tanked the progression or the series was dry, but I made it through. 7 is my usual score for a solid, enjoyable series. 8 means I enjoyed it a lot. 9s and 10s mean I enjoyed it a lot in addition to what I found to be masterful direction, character design/development, and character interactions. I think this roughly reflects what the average scores on this site do.

I don't write reviews often, but the scores I assign there are more critically reflective and based moreso on quality than personal enjoyment.

RECOMMENDATIONS
I might recommend series if they are similar. I tend to have a lot to say, but at the end of my recommendations I'll put a TL;DR that summarizes whether that recommendation is primarily based in the following categories:
‣ Atmosphere — the two series evoke a similar mood. They may be both comedic, whimsical, silly, serious, introspective, etc., or blend various moods together in similar ways.
‣ Character development — the two series grow their characters and the relationships between characters in similar ways/trajectories. Note that the characters themselves may be quite different between each series.
‣ Premise — the two series have similar starting situations, or have very similar recurring plot elements.
‣ Setting — the two series take place in similar locations.
‣ Plot structure — the two series have similar directions in how their plot is laid out. They might be both slice-of-life, or they might culminate in a straightforward manner towards an anticipated climax, or they may have similar types of arcs, etc.
‣ Theme — the two series tackle and probe shared themes or central questions, though their answers to those thematic questions may be different.

--------------
Characters that were my favorites, but got bumped off the list by other characters:
‣ Henrietta de Tristain (Zero no Tsuakima)
‣ Shinka Nibutani (Chuunibyou)
‣ Youhei Sunohara (Clannad)
