That's one way of looking at it :) The way I see it, though, Suzaku was half-idealistic soldier who wanted to change things honestly, half-death seeking for what he did to his father and country. Season 1 gave him reason to live and love, Lelouch made it impossible for him to die willingly, and then took away the former in the most brutal of ways that made everyone else hate even her memory. He was broken during R2's start and started using the exact same tactics Lelouch did and would against him. He was corrupted, but as far as a character he wasn't too far off from Lelouch. And as far as a traitor, he was never really on his side to begin with. He later saw what he was doing wrong when he "interrogated" his POW, but in his attempt to reconcile with Lelouch ended up being hated by him, and in the second attempt to talk down the angry Lelouch, NUKES A CITY. Compare to Lelouch, who hardly changes at all in R1, and doesn't go through any major changes until R2. Just my thought process. :)
Suzaku's interesting to me :) Your typical idealistic soldier who slowly becomes what he hates, catches himself, and understands what he must do with his foil for the original ideals. But, opinions.
