There are a number of riddles in which clues are left in the riddle to survive a situation or take an action you would hope for. I thought this would be fun for some people.

You're in a mansion and the power's out. You see a green door and a red door. Pick one (it doesn't matter which.) Now you see a purple door and a orange door. Pick one (again, it doesn't matter which you pick). Now you see a door with a golden handle and a door with a silver handle. Pick one. You finally come to some signs on three doors. One says "Death from drowning," another says "Death from machine guns," and the last one says "Death from electric chair." Then you see a big sign off to the side that says "Or stay in the mansion and starve to death." What do you choose and still live?

I'd choose 'death from electic chair', there is no power so I can't get killed.

Correct!

While exploring the wild highlands of Ireland, Robert was captured by goblins. Grumpy, the chief of the goblins told him he was allowed one final statement on which would hinge how he would die. If the statement he made was false, he would be boiled in water. If the statement were true, he would be fried in oil. Since Robert did not like either option, he made a statement that forced the goblins to release him. What is the one statement he could make to save himself?(There's actually two I can think of.)

The only other thing I could think of is a statement of opinion such as it's cold outside or this is way to high.

You MUST use puns to solve this riddle.

You are trapped in a room that doesn't have any windows, doorways, or doors, only walls made of cement. You only have a calender, a mattress, and a piece of paper. You have to eat, drink, and then escape in that order. How do you do it?

This is ridiculously hard but here goes nothing.

I grabbed a piece of paper to sheet the mattress from the crumbs of my sandwich. Once finished with the sandwich I sprang into a cup of good old drinking water. As I looked at the calender I was sensing that my days were numbered which left me with only one option.... to escape.

I hope I did this correctly, honestly I had no idea where to start.

I eat the dates(the fruit) in the calender, drink the springs from the mattress, and tear the paper in half and put it together to make a (w)hole to escape.

A man fell over 50 stories but he lived and he was perfectly fine. Nothing was there to catch or protect him and nothing was attached to him. How is it possible that he was perfectly fine?

There once was a clever thief who went about the countryside robbing people of their money. One night he was captured. The king was feeling gracious, so he decided to allow the thief to chose how he would die. What was the thief's reply?

You are locked in a room with a single door and the only way out is to use the correct password. You see a woman knock on the door. A man on the other side said twelve. The woman replied six and was let out. You then see a man knock on the door. The man on the other side said six. The man replied three and was let out. You see another man knock on the door. The voice said ten and the man replied five but was not let out.

You decide to knock on the door. You hear the voice say Four.
What answer do you give him?

The answer is four because the word four has 4 letters in it just as the word twelve has 6.

You are the Head Researcher working on improving the survival rate of the WW2 Alliance Force's fighter planes.

In those days, fighter planes are on single propeller engines. Your task is to collect statistics on the number of bullet holes on fighter
planes that just returned from their missions, and use this statistics as a basis to recommend improvement to the design of the fighter planes.

After studying 10,000 planes that returned from the battle field, you discovered that A)60% of the bullet holes are found at the wings of
the airplane, B)39% around the cockpit area and only C)1% on the engine area.

Your immediate duty is to use this information to recommend which area (A, B or C) to increase armor plating. You could only increase the
armor plating on 1 area instead of all because additional armor plating affects the agility of the fighter plane. What section should you increase the armor plating to?

I think I would improve the armor plating on the wings. My reason for saying this is because they seem to be protecting the other areas from getting damaged. (I picture an old fashion biplane.)

Hmm.... ok, I thought about this real hard, and even confused myself at one point.

My final answer is C)Engines

Thoughts: In the beginning sentence you mentioned that the planes where single engine planes.(my thought was why is this information here?)

The second part of the riddle states that out of 10,000 planes, only 1% had engine damage.(this is where I confused myself)

Since I know the answer is not A it left me with B and C for answers. I thought at first the answer would be B because if the pilot goes down the whole plane goes down. Then I told myself no that is stupid if the engine goes down you will have the same problem.

So I re-read the riddle, and notice the word engine came up a lot. Also, if only 1% had engine damage, then does that mean every other plane that got hit in that area crashed and burned, or is that area just really hard to hit.

So I said, will 39% of the cockpit area was damaged, but they returned from battle. So the cockpit must be pretty durable. Leaving me with my conclusion of C having to be the answer.(If not then I know it is B, but have no idea why.)

Correct. "10,000 planes that returned from the battle field" these planes returned home after being shot. The reason the engine area has the smallest percentage is because very few of them returned from the battlefield after being shot.
