I watched the 2 seasons of Black Lagoon awhile ago and was wondering if the manga was much different in terms or an overall story or something? I herd it focuses more on the Lovelace family and stuff and Revy and Rock are not the main focus.

Nope. The anime followed the manga very closely and there's no real difference between them as far as I can remember.

Theres a few minor differences, but its still same.

Only major differences that come to mind:

-They took the first chapter of the manga and expanded upon it, making the first 2 episodes of the anime. So a bunch of little details where added.

-The car chase scene when Roberta is following them in a car is not in the manga (however, in an interview, Rei Hiroe wanted this but was unable to fit it in the manga due to lack of pages)

-the Fujiyama Gangsta Paradise arc was moved after the Green Back Jane arc (works for me, the later made for a better ending for season 2), then I think 2 other arcs where swapped around as well.

Besides these little differences, like the others have said, the manga and anime are the same overal. So you're not missing anything.

...This applies for the first 2 seasons of the anime, not sure on the OVA yet.

The sequence of events are slightly different, but other than that both the anime and manga are pretty much the same.

Is manga actually any farther in the story than the end of the OVA?

If yes, how many chapters/arcs haven't been adapted yet?
I probably regret this post by now.

The OVA completely changed the turnout of the manga

so...?

Thanks for the information. The Roberta arc is still in the manga, right? But what you're saying is that it turns out differently? Is that because the manga hasn't finished the arc yet?
I probably regret this post by now.

The manga has been slow releasing so (I don't know the reason so don't quote me on this) I'm guessing the anime changed it since they didn't expect to adapt any more in the near future. There's still a little bit after Roberta. (not much)

Yeah there really isn't much of a difference. It was worth reading for me though to see the emotion more drawn out in some of the scenes.

As far as I remember, the outfits the terrorists wore in the episode 11 and 12 of season 1 are also different from the manga. In the manga, they (especially Ibrahim) wore middle eastern clothes and turbans and used it to cover their faces instead of black masks and green clothes like in the anime

In moonlight hunting grounds episode Dutch doesn't stop revy from killing the hired sailors in time in the manga. But in the anime he does stop her.
