Where can I find the original 4:3 version?

I noticed the other day when I was watching xxxHolic on crunchyroll that the picture felt insanely stretched (usually its pretty easy to tell) and I looked into it and it took me WAY longer than it should've to confirm that xxxholic DID in fact originally air in 4:3 aspect ratio... I tried watching the anime on various... sites... and found out not a single source has the 4:3 version. I absolutely dislike watching the stretched image 16:9 version... My last resort was to find the DVD's but upon looking at them on ebay I noticed even the DVD's list 16:9 as the only aspect ratio available... Why is this?
(I know people are going to flood this thread with "Just read the manga bro" so I'll say it now, i do plan to read the manga... after I watch the anime)

I've watched on 16:9, but it wasn't stretched... Actually, widescreen is the original aspect ratio.

And NO, it wasn't cropped. I did compare what I had with an old YT upload of the 4:3 opening. In fact the 16:9 (NOT STRETCHED) is the original aspect ratio, the 4:3 version is missing part of the whole frame.

Oh wow thanks for the heads up. I finished the series in 16:9 anyways but its still good to know.
