I think her turning to war is well explained.
At first she only wanted to help people by fighting starvation and overhaul setting up better living conditions, but whether she wants it or not, it leads to other people dying no matter what.
She can't just stop the war or prevent people from dying, others will be jaleous and want to take her down, or people she's trying to protect, such is war.

She realised that she needs to help directly to prevent her clan to fail, which would result in everything she built to ruin and everyone she loves to die, be enslaved or suffer.

Personally I really like how it is going, I can't wait for the next chapter to release !
