Hello,
So I just read the 2003 edition of this. It differed from the 1984 edition in some parts. For example the gory page when the dog died was missing. Also nude Midori page was non-nude. There were also additions - an extra scene of Midori interacting with children of her age and an extra scene of Midori sleeping beside Masamitsu and hallucinating. There might be more, but I can remember at least those two.

With these changes, I think the manga was even better and for a wider audience. They removed the edgy parts and added some important backstory.

So in total, there's the original 1984 edition, english edition, 1999 edition and 2003 edition. I have found scanlations based on the english edition, which I guess has an chapter 0 backstory(?) as an extra to the 1984 edition. The 1999 edition is the most obscure to me - I wonder what changes it had to the story, if anything.
