Is the plot actually good?

The plot of highschool DxD gets a lot of praise from it's fans, to the point it has become a meme. But are the fans right when they say it has a good story?

No! The plot is the worst part of this show. Here is why.

The concept of it's plot is good, the idea of 3 factions angels, fallen angels and demons and later on even more factions. However this premise is executed very poorly. The plot in the first season is on a smaller scale then the latter seasons. The conflict in season 1 is very personal, it really just concerns the primary characters. The stakes are entirely personal, if they fail it would not significantly impact the world they live in. The most impacting event is at the season finale where however it plays out it would impact the internal politics of 1 of the 3 mayor factions (if only it actually did in the show).
In season 2 the conflict is inflated and the stakes now are everyones lives and the complete annihilation of the town they live in. Also at the end of the season the entire premise is flipped on it's head where as the 3 factions now allied themselves against a partisan group of reugue fallen angels, reugue demons and heretics.
In season 3 they inflate the plot more by adding more factions from different mythologies and having Loki try to usher in Armageddon.
The scale of the conflict the characters are involved in goes from a very personal level and not really concerning anyone else to saving the world and without any logical progression. The MC does not slowly gain more influence and power and in effect increasing the stakes. However the MC just kind of gets caught up in these big event because he is "special". Apart from his "chosen one" powers he is a nobody jet he gets involved in all these huge conflicts.

Anyway, I would like to hear why I'm wrong and it is actually the best plot ever. So plz let me know what you think.
