| Shinsekai Yori - hear me out, it's not a "OMG LETS TAKE DOWN THE EVIL EMPIRE!!" But its a Fantasy anime for grown ups, like if Disney decided to stop making movies for kids and let a famous japanese anime director make a series. There is a war going on but the world is soo different their war has a different meaning. |

"For grown ups", no it's for anyone that likes a good plot, world building, psychological etc. The War isn't there the whole time either. I don't think OP would be able to handle it. I didn't say " Hey boy I dont like Serial" they are OK. But like movie most. coz the main matter is- Every episode have an quest and at the end of that Episode, the quest end. That's like every episode is a mini movie.. I dont like this part of episode. But if episodes are as solid As Lord Of the Ring movie (3 part together can be only called a movie) then ok. You do know 99% of Anime have a continuous plot right? Most of them aren't episodic.... |

| I thought so to Ratatosk but most of my friends under 20 that I have recommended them to watch Shinsekai Yori couldnt handle the sometimes slow pace and the mature elements it has (such as their relationship system) so people who watch it DO need to have a decent level of maturity. And my descriptions are always bad since I'm terrified of spoilers and that includes me spoiling stuff. |

| Magi is based on the Arabian Nights stories. Aladdin is the Main Character along with Sinbad, Alibaba, and Morgiana. Tons of Magic and stuff. It's extremely similar to Disney stuff with some more mature themes like Slavery. Try it. |

| You watched Kingdom already? Try these next then Record of Lodoss War: Chronicle of the Heroic Knight(It's literally like a tactic/RPG turned into a anime) The Mysterious Cities of Gold(this is awesome, It's like an adventure game, and there's a ton of people after the same things. They even have to do some puzzle solving). It's not technically war based, but they are up against Spanards, and various warrior tribes. Also they do find them selves defending various locations from invading armies, so I guess it kind of fits. |
