I haven't watched Power Rangers since 1996. But back then I also used to like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles so that says a lot about my childhood. At least outside of playing Doom and Quake. As for the remainder of the text. That pretty much sums up the state of the entertainment industry as a whole. Did you hear that Sony are making PS5 backwards compatible with PS3? Betcha it won't apply to PS4. I wouldn't mind playing Drakengard 3, but Drakengard 2 is $300+ for a PAL copy. That's the biggest drawback of my region. Silent Hill 1-3, Dino Crisis, Toomba, Parasite Eve and so on so forth are insanely expensive and there doesn't seem to be any chance of backwards compatibility or remasters/ports.  On the subject of games however. I finally got around to finishing Bayonetta last night (Finished it ages ago on Xbox, bought the collection on Switch but due to RuneScape I haven't really been playing console games as much). And Bayonetta aged pretty badly in terms of mechanics. Most of my deaths were because of horrible camera angles, inability to lock on properly and insta-death mechanics and horrible QTE's. Playing Bayonetta 2 now. And only just started but the QTE's are a lot more forgiving. Camera angles slightly better when faced with lots of enemies. Weapons are slightly more fun. Characters are still annoying. Game is moderately easier. And if I have to get a close up of Bayonetta's/Jeanne's crotch,tits or ass one more time I am going to scream bloody murder. As insufferable as Dante and Virgil are, I think I'd rather play through the DmC series again purely to avoid awkward crotchshots and cleavage zoom-ins. But that would mean playing DmC: Devil May Cry again and finishing DMC5.... |

And they relaxed the button mashing for the Torture Attacks as well, you have plenty of time to max them, unlike 1. Nowadays the only games I have trouble with are puzzle solving games, seeing as though I frequently play Amiga,Commodore 64, GG/GBA, NES/SNES and old DOS games. I also now play all games on the hardest difficulty cept for Souls games due to the need for a challenge. Gets frustrating at times. Ninja Gaiden: Black is insanely hard for an old school hack'n'slash.  Thankfully I've never run into this problem, but I tend to avoid public bathrooms whenever I can. They don't get cleaned often enough and my nose is incredibly sensitive to smell, and I can't stand the smell of piss,shit and blood. And shitbags keep blocking the toilets with paper and leaving used condoms everywhere. |

I only just heard about it last night, just as I was about to sign off for the night. Unpopular Opinion(Maybe): It's going to be as shit or maybe even shitter than the Urusei Yatsura remake. Expect full length episodes split into two parts (Essentially making them half length episodes), excessive changes to the script to fit today's moral standards and repetitive jokes,horrible theme songs,annoying voiced sound effects and no light breather in between to refresh the gags. I'm calling it now. But it also fits the trend with me spending assloads on a series and then it getting remade/licensed elsewhere. Just you wait, Crunchyroll will license the original series just like they did Urusei Yatsura, making me waste the 450NZD I spent on the complete series and movies. Next Kara no Kyoukai will get a translated VN and Crunchyroll will re-license the movies. Then I will go insane and have to be wrapped up in a straitjacket while I laugh maniacally in a rubber room. Tsukihime arrives in a couple of days, so does Nier Replicant. August has Urusei Yatsura OVA. I hope they make a bundle collection of all the movies seeing as though Beautiful Dreamer and another are out of print now seeing as though Amazon and Crunchyroll screwed everyone who is not American. Might happen after the OVA release, but I shouldn't cross my fingers given how popular the movies are compared to the series. Fate Stay/Night Remake is coming out later this year. Tsukihime Red Garden got pushed back to "Later" due to Fate/Grand Order. Metroid Prime 4 comes out next year, probably just after 2 and 3 get added to the Switch store seeing as though they aren't getting remasters like 1 did. Other than that, I hope for new retro anime reprints and RetroCrush opening it's doors internationally. Oh, and Volume 9 of Interspecies Reviewers in September/October. Been keeping up with that one cause it's hilarious.  In anticipation of Nier Replicant arriving I finally dusted off my PS2. I'm surprised at how little maintenance I had to do given how long it's been since I last used it. Maintenance work on my Xbox 360 was a nightmare and I dread what it's going to be like when I dig out my Wii U. Been playing Drakengard due to how it links into Nier. One thing I can say for certain is that playing newer games makes playing older games a chore. So clunky and horrible controls. I'm having fun though, it's nice to play games with story rather than "Run here,kill that because you can" with little to no reason why. Not looking forward to how to get all the endings however...... Didn't do it for Nier Gestalt and definitely didn't do it for Automata. Also finally finished Fushigi Yugi. It ended like every other Shojo show I've watched. At least it stuck to it's guns in that respect. Taking a break, finishing off Sekirei, rewatching Cowboy Bebop and Trigun. Haven't rewatched S-Cry-ed since I first watched it though. But that is true of a lot of my older anime. Still haven't watched Air, PreTear, Ef, Escaflowne, Strike Witches, Gunbuster, Now and Then Here and There, Bubblegum Crash/Crisis, Honey and Clover, Usagi Drop or Ranma 1/2 yet among countless others stacked away in the back of my shelves. |

Currently my collection is majorly action figures of multiple variety but I'm not a Mint in the Box kind of collector. But every 3 mins it kept buffering, and the new subtitle options are so hard to see. It's kinda sad that HiDive is the ONLY place to get properly uncensored shows. It's not about wanting to see tits and shit, but avoiding those horrible pentagram/black bar censor lines you see on CR licenses. HiDive makes an effort to acquire both versions for their licenses after shows have aired. CR doesn't make the same effort unless it's a package deal promised after it airs on TV. And HiDive only gets 2-4 'new' licenses each season for my area (Not counting multiple seasons) so they line up is really tiny, and it costs more than CR right now. So I'm torn between whether it's worth it for the shows CR doesn't have, and not being worth it due to the constant app issues and lack of library. I don't have any of the Super Sentai DVDs from Shout because it's not my current focus and it's a big rabbit hole I'm afraid to fall into. I'm mostly indifferent about them, but if I'd watch them I'd prefer them to have the commentary to spice things up or at least have some narrative behind them with new footage as opposed to just repurposing the old footage with nothing new. The only time that I do hate them is when I binge watch a series and it's part of the main episode count as I just went through what they're covering.  I actually meant to log on yesterday. But the game I normally play was on maintenance so I went to play Drakengard. I played too long. I was on such a roll that I actually completed 3 of the 5 endings. Only 2 more to go, but ending E is the most important one and the biggest son of a bitch. I'm only 68% through collecting all the weapons necessary for ending E and I keep reading that I need to level all weapons to level 4, which takes FOREVER cause there are 65 of them and weapon xp is gained on a 1-1 ratio, of 1xp = 1 kill and each weapon needing increasing amounts of xp per level. |

Other than periodically intervening in fights on the forums or removing images from the sordid /AMP/ history books have moderators ever actually done their jobs? I miss the messaging function we used to have. I wound up in a huge VN discussion because of it. Don't miss the soliciting spam though. Mixed bag really. But honestly, the whole internet is like that these days. /AMP/ is like the only safe haven for people who want the anime discussions, but don't want the drama that naturally ensues from things that depend entirely on personal taste. The axing of the Crunchyroll forums had to come at such a bad time. There's no way to reach out to any of our lost and wandering members anymore. Some use MAL, but not all of them use the same name they did on Crunchyroll. I found a couple of them, but I can't just pop in randomly and say "Hey, Crunchyroll forums are gone now, but we moved to MAL". Xylrot ain't coming back. Zendude is gone. RPGaholic is gone too. ZWolf is gone. And so many others. And there's no way to properly advertise /AMP/ in the hopes someone sees us and comes back, because Anime Motivational Posters has been a thing for donkeys. The non Crunchyroll Mots were the first thing I used to cure my depression before I unwittingly stumbled upon Crunchyroll back while I was still in high school.  Oh. And I finally finished Ending E on Drakengard. Like the morning after I posted that I couldn't beat it. Did take a couple more hours. But now I'm finally on to playing Nier Replicant. And to be brutally honest. I prefer Father Nier to Brother Nier. Feels like I'm playing an anime game with how ridiculous his flourishes feel. |

But to be fair, a lot of the people most likely to return weren't there for the Crunchyroll forum axing announcement. It's so desolate here now. Don'tcha miss the days when someone who used to be really active suddenly disappeared. Only to randomly show up like nothing happened? And all the discussions we used to have about stuff mostly unrelated to anime? The R wars. Motmas. All the stuff we needed more participants from.  Newest gaming peeve. Single player games that use real time to determine crop growth. Needed some Wheat and Rice for a sub quest on Nier Replicant. Didn't wanna pay for it because I was saving up for weapons. Turns out it takes a day of real life time to grow things. Thankfully, unlike the old days, I actually need to sleep at points so I managed to get them to grow. But still. For MMOS it's fine because you are probably gonna come back at regular intervals. But on Nier, if you leave crops for too long they die. If I had of taken a few days break I would have had to plant everything from scratch again. |

It's just like my problem with old music,anime and games. I thrive off nostalgia. The downside is that tomorrow will never be as good as yesteryear was. And it will only get worse from here. You have a new family life to worry about and I'm starting to fall back into my depression sleeping habits again.  To celebrate Zoids 25th anniversary, all the Zoids series will be making their way to Japanese streaming platforms. I hope this means at a later date they will make their way to either Crunchyroll or Netflix. I know it's taboo to wish Anime gets licensed by Netflix, but with how shoddy HiDive has been lately I'd take Netflix over HiDive. And I'd certainly take it over Disney+. They are supposedly also on the official Youtube Channel for free, but I don't like using Youtube for anything other than music, game guides and OVAs that didn't come with the physical releases. Recently watched the Mihoshi episode of Tenchi Muyo Ryo-ohki. It was pretty funny. Kind of a shame Mihoshi's story didn't get told outside of the novels other than a quick 15 second explanation in the newer episodes of Ryo-Ohki as to why she is so addled. |

Keep getting pestered by Microsoft saying that next year Windows 10 will no longer be supported. Every time I turn on my PC "Your computer isn't eligible for a Windows 11 upgrade, you have until next year to do something about this!" I miss Windows 7. But Steam doesn't support anything lower than Windows 10. At least Media Player worked on Windows 7. They don't even include it when you install a fresh OS anymore. And all the anti piracy shit updates has made VLC and Leawo have issues playing most blu-rays now. Even though NZ is included in Blu-ray Region B some of the blu-rays I bought from the UK spit the dummy when I try watch em. VLC used to be the go to for people wanting to watch out of region dvds and blu-rays but now it just runs like every other media player. And the store I got my last PC from no longer builds PCs. And the only other two stores in my area only have chump PCS within my price range. I was contemplating on playing Silent Hill 2 remake and going through the full Resident Evil series at some point, but halfassed computers can't even play the newer ones. Still have to finish RE 1 though, I only finished 0, 5,6 Revelations 1 and 2. And where has my year gone? It's already August. First 6 months I was suffering from extreme dermatitis, got Covid, got several Colds and Winter is rather cold this time around. Last year our Winter was warmer than our Summer. But good things did happen. Tsukihime, Metroid Prime 4 announced, Fate Stay/Night Realta Nua for Switch near the end of 2024, RetroCrush announced it was planning on being available internationally, Konami is releasing a bulk classic Yu-Gi-Oh collection for Switch, Classic Anime are getting reprints by the bundle. So on so forth. But August snuck up on me too fast. I hate this time of year. |
| In a new way to work on getting into shape I started doing boxing exercises in addition to weight lifting which is certainly not the best time while I'm taking medication that as a side effect makes me more hungry than usual. There's getting hungry and there's "so hungry I'm low on energy" which is my current biggest obstacle in putting any of my effort to waste. ----  136 |
