| "Now we just have to wait for Zero." Masaru leaned back. "By the way... How much more food did you make while I was gone?" He asked narrowing his eyes at her. |

| Grace giggled nervously. "Oh, just fifty-eight," the timer on the oven dinged. "Fifty-nine dishes." She stood to go retrieve the cake with care and sat it out to cool. "You hungry?" |

| "Are you really that worried about me?" Masaru sighed. "I appreciate your concern, but I can take care of myself you know. I have been ever since I was ten." |

| "So?" Grace smiled. "I get worried when comrades go in without me." |

| "Well, at least this time I won't have to worry about you making hundreds of dishes." Masaru said. "And who exactly is paying for all these ingredients?" |

| "I will," Grace said as she sat back down with a sigh. "Are you nervous?" |

| "Not really. I've killed people before, it's nothing new." Masaru said coldly. "Are you?" |

| "My only concern is surviving. Even with my odd eyes, the Kiras could find me out. I'm also afraid of dying, but only because I have someone else to take care of," Grace sighed. |

| "I'm the more experienced in head to head combat. I'm a bigger threat. If they're smart they'll focus on me." Masaru checked his pistol again. "If not, I'll kill them before they have the chance of finding out." |

| "If they're as smart as you think they'll head for the weakest link," Grace said as she tinkered with her sunglasses. |

| "Then as I said, I'll kill them before they can." Masaru repeated. "You know you don't have to fight, you can just watch if you're worried." |

| "I was talking about the Zero kid," Grace smiled. "But I appreciate the concern." |

| "I don't think Zero's going to fight. We should get a call from him soon." Masaru said calmly. |

| Grace shut her eyes and smirked. "Maybe your woman will be an almost Kira victim. That would be quite the bond." |

| "That again?" Masaru sighed. "You really do have cat-like mood swings by the way." |

| "Where did that come from?" Grace asked, opening only one eye. |

| "Before I left. When you got annoyed and went into your room." Masaru sighed. "In fact, you have even more mood swings than a cat." |

| Grace scoffed. "Oh please, I was not pissed off," she snapped. |

| "I never said you were, I said you were annoyed. Baka." Masaru looked at her. "And you changed your mood again." |

| Grace's eye twitched violetly and she sighed. "If you don't like when I do it stop porovokibg me, Baka-chi." |

| "I never said I don't like it." Masaru said calmly. "And perhaps the problem is not me provoking you, but you getting provoked too easily." Now he was just trying to tease her. |

| "Oh give me a break!" Grace groaned. "You started it! This is all because you don't show your damn emotions and you won't be happy." |

| "So you're blaming the fact that you can't control your emotions, on the fact that mine are locked?" Masaru asked without emotion. |

| "No, because I want to make you happy and smile because you look a lot cuter when you smile than with that crotchety frown," Grace ranted. |

| Masaru sighed. "Cute, huh? I don't think anyone has described me with that word before." Masaru said blankly. |

| Grace was sitting in horror. "I-I didn't say that! You must be hearing things now." |

| "Denying things only makes it worse. Especially when you stutter." Masaru said to tease her even more. |

| "I'm not stuttering either," Grace huffed. |

| "So I'm not cute?" Masaru asked looking at her. |

| Grace blanched. "I-I didn't say t-that." |

| "Well, which is it? You said I'm cute first, then you deny it. You're really confusing me Grace." Masaru said blankly, leaning back. |

| Grace scowled. "Do I have to answer?" |

| "I suppose not, but then you'll have to find some other way to keep me from 'provoking you'." Masaru said. She really is fun to tease. |

| "Is there an easy solution?" Grace asked. |

| "Hm... Nope. Unless Zero calls me with the location soon." Masaru leaned back. |

| "Well then what do you suggest?!" Grace snapped as she ate a cinnamon roll. |

| "Nothing, I'm just scre-... I mean teasing you." Masaru sighed. "I have been for a while now." |

| Grace sighed and hugged Masaru. "Thanks for getting rid of my nerves." |

| Masaru looked at her for a bit, surprised. "No problem." He finally said. "You watch out for me, I'll watch out for you." |

| "Well at least I know you won't go hungry if I die," Grace giggled. |

| Masaru made a fist and lightly tapped her on the top of her head. "Don't joke about that, Baka. If you joke about it too much it'll eventually happen." |

| "What's wrong?" Grace smirked. "Ya don't want me to die? I didn't know you cared." |

| Masaru sighed. "Well, now you know. I do care." He said seriously. |

| Grace blushed and smiled like absolutely nothing was wrong. She started putting dishes into the already stuffed fridge. She left out five plates of desserts for Zero. |

| Masaru checked his phone for a call from Zero. Still nothing... He should have called by now... Did the Kira's discover him? He sighed and petted Kage. |

| Grace sat down and hummed as she looked over orphan files on her phone. She enjoyed these silences between her and Masaru. Nothing was awkward about it, and nothing needed to be said. |

| Masaru set his phone on the table and leaned back, closing his eyes. If Zero wasn't going to call for a while, it would be best for him to get as much rest as possible. There was no proof that the Kira's weren't taking precautions. |

| Standing, Grace took Cerberus outside to play. If he wasn't taken out daily, he got rowdy. |
