I waited forever for the Konosuba movie to be available on dvd/blu ray over here. I think it's been 6 years since I last watched it, cause I'm sure it was either 2018-2019 that we still had Animelab and it was available for a week if you were a subscriber. And because over here in NZ and AUS we get our anime releases a month after Crunchyroll/Funimation/MVM films distributes them I was waiting till I rewatched the main series. So I binge watched the series the last two nights because my copy of the movie just arrived. And I finished the main series including ovas yesterday morning. But as soon as I was about to put the disc into my Xbox One, we had a massive hail and thunderstorm and the power went out. It was hilarious how many times I've been prevented from watching this movie. First it was Covid preventing Madman from releasing the movie back in 2019/2020, then it was delayed after Madman properly sold over to Funimation, then it was delayed because of an incident with the cargo planes that deliver between NZ and AUS and now I was prevented from watching it because of a power cut. Oh and it turns out that the 'lagging' I had with the season 2 ova was because of a problem with the media player on ps4, cause it worked fine on Xbox. |

SHINOBI-03 said: Either I am getting too old, or modern games are really affecting my systems because they can really mess up my head the more I play it gets more annoying to take breaks whenever my head feels the migraines. The visuals going too fast for my eyes and falling from high altitudes gives me that uncomfortable feeling my stomach. Still not as awful as the experience I had playing Peace Walker. I love the game but the boss battles gave me endless nightmares. As in real nightmares in my sleep. It happens to everyone. Eye strain while gaming and using things like computers is a problem for the majority of people. Just be glad you don't have to wear glasses with blue light filters just yet. Do your eyes twitch uncontrollably if you spend too long in front of a screen? And having nightmares while gaming is an aftereffect of doing something too much. The more you subject yourself to something, the easier it is for it to affect your dreams. Most of the time dreams are just the brain recalling fragments of memory stuck in your subconscious. Which is funny because I never have dreams related to anime. I called it. Fate/Stay Night is getting a port to PC and Switch with an official English translation. And it's being released sometime in 2024, same year as part 1 and 2 of the Tsukihime remake. That being said, it's the all ages version of Realta Nua, which frankly is to be expected. I think the only Type-Moon works we are missing now are Kara no Kyoukai and Fate/Extra CCC. But there was talk of there being a Fate/Extra CCC remake for Switch and Playstation, but the original creator was concerned that because Passionlip and BB's tits are unrealistically large that it would cause friction with American fans and Sony and he didn't really want to change any of the character designs because it would be too unfaithful to the original. |

But the majority of my dreams are things that happen later on in the day/week or things that could happen. Like someone knocking on the door to deliver church pamphlets and other silly day to day happenings. But I've never had an anime related dream. And I only had dreams about games when I was a kid, but it was mostly things like Doom and Quake. I had a rather strange first introduction to gaming. Especially for a 5 year old. That being said I'm currently being plagued by nightmares of my cat being hit by a car and seagulls eating him. |

It's kinda funny you say that. I managed to finish Shirobako not too long ago cause HiDive has all the episodes rather than Funimation only having the first 12. I'm probably misinterpreting the point of the show, but it felt to me like the point of Shirobako was to explain the hardship that goes into producing anime and that people shouldn't fly into a frothing rage whenever a seasonal show gets delayed or inserts recap episodes. I still hate recap episodes however. Especially in those 12 episode shows that sneak two into them. I started watching My Dress Up Darling. I expected it to be a lot more wholesome than it is. And replacing 'Love' with 'Wuv' is only cute when it comes to children who can't properly speak. Stuttering I get, especially from our MC, cause of his lack of human interaction. But when Marin does it...................... And her personality. I think I understand now why she's the mascot of hentai sites. |

So I was somewhat right. And there are a lot of shows that like talking about how bad the anime industry is, from fan perspective and from the working point of view. But I can't name all of them, because there are too many. Shirobako also had an episode when they were selecting seiyu and one of the people there wanted to promote one of the actresses because she had big tits and would sell loads of gravure books. And another because she had loads of fans so the soundtrack would sell easily. |

Doesn't take itself or the subject seriously, focused on being LOL cute over how the industry works, and was made in a time before the scandals and public perception on the industry became more aware of the troubles and compromises and totalitarian management turned public knowledge. 023 |

I think Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken! is in my watchlist but my progress through that is about as slow as space junk drifting through the milky way. And with the final part of Urusei Yatsura arriving later on this week it might be time for a binge watch to get over how bad the 2022 remake is (Not was, is, cause we still have about 20ish episodes left and it's still shit). I mean, it's about the game industry, not the anime industry (at least as far as I'm aware, it's been years since I finished watching it) and it's not like that information is particularly hidden. Just look at big name game companies like Blizzard and Game Freak to see how bad shit gets. |

On that same note, now all consoles give you a prompt to integrate your watchlist to your Crunchyroll watchlist. Problem is,not all the shows on my Funi watchlist made it to Crunchyroll, and all the shows I loved that didn't I already bought. There weren't that many xD And the ones that did make it over I already added/watched and won't rewatch anytime soon. That being said. A lot of shows have been leaving Crunchyroll and no news other than I'm assuming on their Twitter. All of them are Sentai licenses however. And they are all getting physical re-releases. Final part of Urusei Yatsura arrived earlier today. And when I went to check Amazon to see if there's any news on a release date for the OVA series, I noticed that on March 31st Sentai is releasing the series in two part collections. For half the price of buying Part 1 and 2 together. Fucking Sentai man. Edit: My bad, turns out it's the 2022 series. And it's $125 NZD for 23 episodes without any noteworthy extras. The audacity man. I mean holy shit. We got 49 episodes of the original series for slightly less. |

I have finally joined the rest of the world and gotten Covid. That being said, so far it's just felt like your average cold. And I pretty much got over all the symptoms in a day and a half save for the runny nose and scratchy throat. Now, 5 days later it's like I never even had it at all. However, I hear it's the long term health complications that are the real issue. |

My previous hand creams don't work anymore and only agitated my condition so now I'm on steroid cream and a much stronger moisturizer. And when I don't use my creams my fingers lock up and I can barely move them without soaking my hands in hot water, which makes the cracking and peeling worse. January went so well I get the feeling that I've exhausted all my luck and now karma is drop kicking me all around New Zealand to make up for the sheer good fortune I've had. Pretty much all of Type-Moons VNs are now being released around summer 2024 with proper english translations, Konosuba movie arrived and it had fantastic subtitles with no visual or audio goofups and I scored a bunch of rare old anime to add to my collection. |

It would probably be nostalgia, but it could also be that I think sometime ago they re-released a bulk package of Odyssey, Black Flag and that Viking game. Or that there was another AC game in the works. I haven't been gaming as much other than Runescape lately. Just goes to show how time consuming MMO's are. But I've been replaying Bayonetta so I can play 2 and 3. But I'm really not enjoying Bayonetta 1. I remembered ages ago when I played it on Xbox that I really didn't like it. It's basically just DMC with a female protagonist, more obnoxious quips and shitty QTEs. And this is a joke about the horrible Funimation/Crunchyroll translation that 'FWUBBED' the original translation in the novels. |

It was really really quiet despite all the people around. It was nice to swing by the public gathering area where people were 'busking' by playing instrumental anime themes. I spent a lot of time there trying to figure out the show they were from. But in the end it wasn't fun. And getting groups for group dungeons was easy, but people were horrible and seldom spoke any English. But on the note of silence in MapleStory, I'd rather the people on Runescape remained quiet. "It is better to be thought a fool than open your mouth and remove all doubt" suits no one better than the Runescape community. Sure there are some nice people, but the majority of people you see in that game are the entitled brats you see lurking on Twitter and Reddit. And the memes..... everything that comes out of the mouth of some people is..... ARGGGHHHH!!! I'm still clanless, because I don't get along with people. My MMO History isn't really that varied. Played Neopets back in early early 2000's, played Runescape, played AdventureQuest, played Maplestory 2, played WoW, played Dofus, played Flyff and played R.O.S.E Online. Oh, and I also some time on FF Online and Elder Scrolls online, but ESO bricked my first Xbox One. |

I was playing Digimon Cyber Sleuth yesterday morning. And I forgot that it didn't autosave (I think I've been spoiled by all the autosave inclusive games) So while I was grinding up to digivolve some of my other mons to unlock parts of the codex I decided that because the wild digimon were too weak to give me good xp I'd progress through a little more of the third chapter. I completely forgot about the Jimiken boss fight after you rescue Agumon and Gabumon and got stomped. I lost 3 hours worth of progress hahaha. |

When I got Covid it agitated my dermatitis and my hands swelled up to almost two times their normal size and my skin looked like it was constantly being burned off and then regrowing only to dry out and fall off again. My hands are somewhat back to normal after taking emulsion ointment and steroid cream and my doctor said I can lay off the steroid cream for now if I want because if I use it for too long it will do damage to my hands. It's been two days since I stopped and now I have to start using it again because my hands are starting to dry out and crack again. Oh and my fingerprints are all damaged so I keep having to update my biometrics so I can turn on my cellphone. The last month has been the most I have ever been to see a doctor in my life. Well it beats "There is one god, he exists because he does, and the proof that he exists is that he does nothing. LALALALALALALALA YOU CAN'T CHANGE MY MIND LALALALA". You do have to give them credit for their creativity however. And I personally like the idea that there was something before gods. And that not all gods are benevolent and merciful beings and some are just 'evil' because it is their nature to be so. As much as I dislike the concept of religion I do find Polytheism rather interesting. Probably why I like Noragami so much. SHINOBI-03 said: Cronus eating his children then spitting them all unharmed and all grown up Cronus consulted The Fates and they said that his rule would be usurped by his children, so in order to prevent that from happening he swallowed them in order of first born to last born. Turns out HiDive doesn't want to be outdone by Crunchyroll. They just prettied up their Xbox One app. It's pretty similar to Crunchyroll's one now. And the queue can now handle more than 10 items at once! Problem is however, it automatically gravitates towards English Dub whenever you change episode/start a new show or LatAm if it's an option. It also now has the option of changing the font/opacity/colour of subtitles as well, so much so that it almost mirrors non Sentai subtitling. Problem is that as soon as you swap to a new episode or restart an episode it goes back to the Sentai Yellow we all know and sometimes love. Shows in your queue also show the latest unwatched episode if you are binge watching it. Problem is you have to go back to the show menu if you wanna watch a different episode/missed one which you have to actually search for the show in question because if it's in your queue or recently watched list it will only show the latest episode you watched instead of the series menu. Oh, and it doesn't remember where you left off if you stopped in the middle of an episode, and naturally it will swap back to English Dub. The main menu no longer lags which is an improvement. The problem is however that when browsing series or movies the list goes down the page instead of from left to right and if you try skip down to say Y it will have issues loading images and occasionally pop up with an error message that actually doesn't do anything. And viewing a series/movie while in that menu and going back to the index will send you straight back to the top of the screen instead of where you left off, kinda like if your Crunchyroll watchlist has more than 30 items on it viewing a show and going back will just send you to the top of the watchlist. All in all however it's a lot better than it was before, other than the fugly mess the show index is now. I also found another sub genre of Romance anime I don't like. But only somewhat. Otaku Romance. Now, otaku falling in love and being part of a show is fine, power to them. But does every single otaku character need to be so morbidly self deprecating? I just started watching Real Girl cause I was having trouble deciding what to watch next on HiDive. And my god is the main character frustrating. I understand otaku having crippling inferiority complexes, being somewhat of one myself and having a massive inferiority complex in the past. But he takes it to whole new levels. A pretty boy character interested in his girlfriend makes his little sister scream so the cops come running and say that the MC tried abducting her and he gets labeled a lolicon by his family, the kids at school and most of the people in his neigbourhood and he's just like "It's fine, I'm used to being treated like this" when the guy in question starts yelling at him for not sticking up for himself. And every single time he walks around town with his girlfriend some guy winds up punching him out because they think he's stalking her or has dirt on her so she has no choice to go out with him. And this is a 2017/2018 show? You'd think that after so many decades of otaku being shat on they would have grown out of it? Hell, even his own delusional magical girl mocks and beats him. |

Otaku tourists also grew being bigger problem in recent years and now more laws and regulations banning them from tourism attraction because the local just had had enough of their irresponsible and immature acts around them. I know that, but the fact is it goes overboard in Real Girl, despite the fact he isn't even the most serious case of Otakuism. And You Thought There Is Never A Girl Online has more severe cases of Otaku in it, but except for mandatory tsundere girl treating our main otaku like shit to disguise the fact she is one herself in front of her friends, it never gets as bad. In Real Girl his family treats him like crap for being an otaku, the people at school bully the ever loving shit out of him for being an otaku and even the people in the neighbourhood treat him like crap for being an otaku despite the fact other than reading anime magazines during lunch people only assume he is an otaku is cause he is tall, anti social and wears glasses. And this is from a 2017/2018 show. And since the last 10ish years otaku have gotten to be treated a little better by the world at large. Even with that Rugby/Football/Grid Iron whatever the fuck Americans call their sports admitting to the world that he liked anime. Or Ed Sheeran admitting he liked Pokemon, to the point they even used his song as the ending theme for Scarlet and Violet. But to have anime, a media made for otaku and casual viewers, absolutely bash their hobbies is disgusting. Yes, belittle them a little, but not accuse every single one of people a pedophile or a waste of taxpayer money, or a public safety risk. A joke here and there is fine. But unless they prove themselves to be as big a risk as they are saying they are, they are just people enthusiastic about their hobbies. I don't wanna have to relive my childhood every time I watch a new show. But punish the people causing trouble, not the identity. By public definition both you and me are otaku, despite how little we actively project our hobbies in real life. (Assuming you function the same way as I do and treat it as just a different form of media viewing) |

I wouldn't really say too old, it's more about what you need and how you use it. My first PC was 15 years old and second hand to boot. I blew it up playing World of Warcraft for too many hours at a time. My second was outdated by about 5-6 years, but I melted the HD so I bought a new one. And that one wasn't up to snuff so I had to buy a new one at the start of Covid. And the one I have now I should probably upgrade the graphics card and motherboard. Maybe get a bigger SSD. Problem is I want a blu ray drive so I can make mots and watch Region 1/A shows on my PC, but computers these days don't need optical drives so I'm stuck with an Antec Tower which refuses to start up on really cold days. And I'm having trouble picking up a USB blu ray player. I heard that you could pick one up really cheap on Amazon but I'm not having any luck. And didn't you say you gave up streaming ages ago when we were still on Crunchyroll when Xylrot was still with us because people were assholes? |
