Maw shivered as Mir return the folded map to him, what a cold personality his partner had, sighing it meant that this mission was going to be far from over. Looking down, he lead the way, as they walked, one would hear his mumbling something about Mir been little fun. Fifteen minutes passed and what greeted them was a lake that seems to be a scene from a movie. ![]() |

Vlad opens his eyes after taking a small nap on-top of a branch of the highest tree, and thinks to himself, " Scarlet headquarters told me to wait at this lake until I see a pair walking through here, question is, how do I know who is the right pair?" Vlad leans up and jumps off the branch, and lands safely upon the ground. "Man, it sucks being the new guy", he muttered, and adjusts his bow, while he looks over to his left, across the lake, he sees a pair looking in awe towards the sight of the river. "Is that them?" He thought; and starts making his way toward the pair. |

Mir followed closely behind his partner, who was mumbling something inaudible under his breath. He decided to ignore this assuming that he was complaining silently about his unclean clothes. The guy was a neat freak after all. Mir found their situation quite odd though. His partner who always seemed reluctant to take the lead was confident that this lake he spoke of really exists and he knew where its exact location. He shrugged off the thought of getting lost. In fact, he wasn't worried at all. They were already lost in these dark, dense forest. Every once in a while, during the duration of their walk, Mir could hear rustle of the leaves and an odd change of wind. He would turn around only to see nothing there. I guess it must be something else. After minutes, the walking came to a stop. Mir was awed by the enchanting view of the lake. Mir moved closer at the edge and dipped his hand creating ripples to reach the other end of the lake. The water was clear which made it refreshing to look at. It was the first time he has ever seen one in actual and left quite an impression on him. He glanced up at his partner with an innocent wide grin on his face. |

"I can't just run around the entire lake, and swimming across it is highly un-needed, so I have to get their attention somehow" He thought, so he grabbed his bow, grabbed an Arrow from his quiver, and shot it at the tree that was closest to them. |

Mir looked at his reflection from the river. It was rare of him to be able to see himself since he had no mirrors. He smiled as he noted some of his key features; pale skin, golden eyes, snow white hair. He wasn't narcissistic but he just wanted to know that he was really himself. After all, he was told that he was an artificial human. As he continued to gaze at the clear lake, forgetting his partner, something fast flew by missing him by only centimeters apart. He didn't glance back to see what it was that almost hit him. Instead, he looked up to see someone else at the other side of the lake. An enemy? Another one of the witches minions? Mir stood up from his position and alerted himself for battle. |

Looking over the shoulder of Mir, he was surprised that he appears to be very absorbed by his own reflection. Pouting out of habit, he wondered if been narcissistic was part of his personality, he would be shocked if that was truth. Afterall he doesn't appear to be that way, while on the other hand, judging a book by its cover wasn't what he would do. As he walked to the water source, his eyes were stuck to the scene the lake brought, he had always dreamed of staying near a lake, something that was iut of reach for him. Sighing he remembered the purpose of his visit, pouting while he bended down, he managed to caught sight of something that was flying towards them at full speed, it looks like an arrow and if he had not gotten out of the way, that would have found his way to injure him. Staring, Maw knew that had gotten Mir's attention too. This was not a joking matter, did their pursurers caught up with them? |

Vlad gently waves his hand over his head to make sure he has their attention, and points towards the hill at the end of the lake, suggesting that we should meet up there. Vlad than screams: "Hey! Meet me on the top of that hill! I mean no harm! HQ sent me here!" Then Vlad rushes towards the hill. |

Alright, that totally caught him off guard. His expression froze and he doesn't agree with what that guy said, he had no idea if that was a trap or not. Besides that, he was sure there are better ways for him to inform them, and to top it off, wouldn't it be strange to aske to meet at a hill? Looking towards Mir, he checks with Mir on what to do next. Waiting for his response, he began to do some cleaning up. |

It seemed that the person across the lake was waving at them. Mir followed the direction he was pointing at and heard that person shout from the top of is lungs to meet up at the peak of the hill, that he meant no harm and he was one of The Scarlet. Mir hardly believed any of those he said. After all, that person almost manage to hit him and Maw with an arrow. Plus, why at the top of the hill and not the bottom of it? Or, he could even just come over. They may be mercenaries trying to defend themselves bu they won't jump and beat up every person they see. Or at least that was the case for him. Mir thought up of what to do as his partner began his business, cleaning his clothes. "I don't know? Leave him to rot maybe?" Mir looked up at the sky. It seemed nightfall was looming closer. |

As Vlad looks up and notices the sun has started to set and said to himself, "Man, either they got attacked and killed on the way, or my hypothesis is correct, they must think I am a bad guy", he sighs and says again, "I might as well go around the lake, and meet up with them." So Vlad gathered his things, and sets off toward to where he believes his comrades are located. |

Maw actually for once agreed on Mir's suggestion, he doesn't know who that guy was and whoever he was, he aren't going to fall for the obvious trap of chasing him to a terrin where he don't have an advantage. Besides, they had barely escape from their previous enemies, and had hardly any breaks, he aren't going to be silly and launch into a fight now. "If a fight is what he wants, then he will have to look for us, the sun is disappearing and we'll need to set up our resting place for the night," he replied as he drain the water off from his clothes. He was satisfied, at least his clothes looked cleaner than before. Smiling, he continued asking, "What would you like to have for dinner? I'm a pretty good cook myself," |

After walking for sometime, Vlad manages to see a pair, one that looks like it's cleaning clothing, and one with it's sword out. He listens in on their conversation, just to make sure there not on the side of the Witch, and decides that they are friendly. Vlad decides to wait for them to finish talking, and when they did, Vlad approaches the one is cleaning his clothes, afraid that the one with the sword will get startled, and swing recklessly. After tapping the one who is cleaning his clothes, he quickly says: " My name is Vladimir Vanguard, I am a fellow Scarlet like you, I know that my method of getting your attention earlier was reckless, but I wasn't thinking. I was sent here to help with the Quest for the witch; why didn't you come to the hill?" |

Mir moved away from the lake and walked over to the nearest tree and started practicing with his newly made sword from earlier. He didn't want to let his guard down so he refused to let go of the sword just yet. His partner was busy washing clothes at the river so he moved away. He didn't want to deprive the guy in his pleasure of washing clothes. Mir made a few slashes at the tree as his partner spoke after finishing his chore. He listened closely on the things his partner had said. Agreeing at what Maw had said, he knew they had to look for the perfect spot to rest. Though, the next problem would be, who would stand guard and who was the one who sleeps? "What would you like to have for dinner? I'm a pretty good cook myself", Maw concluded his small talk. Before Mir could answer, another man, who called himself Vladimir, came out from hiding and suddenly introduced himself as their comrade sent for the same mission. Mir pointed his sword at the newcomer. Apparently, the guy was the one who was at the other side of the lake, shooting that arrow that almost hit the two of them. When Vladimir asked their reason for not going to the hill, Mir simply shrugged in response. He hadn't trusted the guy completely although, he had already put the sword down. |

Vlad looked at the rabbit hopping around behind the man who had put his sword down, and took his bow and aimed it at the direction of the rabbit, it seemed that the bow was aimed towards him, but was aimed over his shoulder to kill the rabbit. Vlad then fires his bow, impaling the rabbit in the head, and says "Sorry, I don't mean to sound like a bad guy." He points at the rabbit. |

Maw who was silent all the while found himself in a strange and uncomfortable position, he does not agree with Mir's action of putting his sword down, the guy appeared to be a bowman, which means he has a deadly weakness. He does intend to make use of that against him. As soon as the guy finished his last sentence, Maw who appeared to be silent, moved at a lighting speed and in a flash emeraged at the back of him, taking his surprise as a benefit, he pointed his sword against his throat, merely inches before cutting it. The blade shined brightly and in his cold voice, he warned him not to move. "I have no control over what my blade cuts and I don't trust anyone who points their sword at me, inclusive of arrows, now speak before anything bad happen" Maw's eyes emitted freezing aura that was different from his usual self. |

Vlad shudders for a second, he appeared to be smiling, even laughing a little. "You know, you always think before you sling your sword recklessly." Vlad looks up, his expression has changed. "If you were more careful, you would have noticed that I am not just a bowman, I am also a swordsman, like you, I mean a sword isn't hard to miss, especially if mine is strapped to my waist. But don't fear, for this perticular mission, I'll be using my bow." Vlad smiles again; "Please, lay down your sword." |

Mir had thought that letting his sword down was a good idea since Vlad claimed that he was a member of the same guild of mercenaries as they are and had accepted the same mission as they did. Even if what Vlad said was a lie, Mir's actions would work as a trick that he had believed in the guy's words. Mir tilted his head slightly as the guy named Vlad aimed and fired at his direction, hitting the rabbit behind. He was contemplating whether the guy was trying to kill him or the innocent passing animal but he let the thought end without arriving at a conclusion. As his two companions bickered, Mir placed his sword, leaning against a tree. He had no sheath to keep the sword. |

Vlad sighed, "Please drop your sword, or I will have to refer to taking it from you." He tilted his head to the one leaning on the tree, "That rabbit will rot if not cooked instantly, you have to eat to fight." Vlad says again, "Please drop the sword, this will be the last time I will repeat myself, I honestly hate talking." |

Maw was not convienced by that guy's fancy speech, he didn't had a proof that he was a member of the same guild and the fact that he almost killed both of them did not help in his favour. He will have to keep this Vlad under his eyes at all times, he decided and if he were to make a single wrong move, its "Game over" for him. His eyes remained cold as he put away his sword, he voice sends a chill down to his partners' spine, "One wrong move and you are dead", he warned, his eyes staring straight out. Turning his back, he took a deep breath and recovered to his normal voice, "So who's up for dinner?" |

Maw rolled his eyes, there goes his perfect image. Poof just like that, it had disappeared. He didn't really wished to expose his darker side to anyone, but that guy just had to be on the wrong side. Sighing, he gathered some firewood and set up a fire, he was going to prepare his own dinner, no way is he going to eat that rabbit whose soul was still staring at the person who just killed it. Cutting the fruits, he put them into the porriage that was boiling, soon the auroma spread throughout his environment. Now he just had to wait for it to be ready. |

Mir glanced back as his two companions ended their argument and went silent. The two had went their separate ways, doing two separate things. They still weren't at peace with each other, but he didn't care. Seeing a scroll on the ground, he walked towards it's direction and picked it up. Reading its content, he learned that it was the same mission scroll that he had, though he threw away his earlier. The piece of paper either belonged to Maw or Vlad, but Maw was a neat freak so Mir concluded that the scroll belong to the other guy. Looking around he had seen the new guy resting. So, he went over ad dropped the scroll beside him then walked away, almost as immediately. He, then, went over to Maw. Not that he had interest in dinner, he was just bored. "So, what's for dinner?", he asked, grinning. |

Vlad eventually opened his eyes, smiling, not the mental smile from before, but a normal smile, "Good memories come oh so rarely." He said to himself. He leans up, listening to the conversation of the two, not intentionally, "These ears aren't just accessories, you know." He thought. He takes off his shoulder guards, sliding the bow sleeves from one arm, looking at it, he frowned. "It's been two years since I've been bothered by this arm. I don't why it's starting all over again." He said biting his lip, eventually putting everything back on. He turns to his side, and notices the old mission scroll that he tossed earlier, "Didn't I toss this earlier?" He asked himself. He grabs it, and sniffs it, "It didn't smell like the one who held me hostage earlier, so it must be the other one." He thought. |

The bear like beast started to charge at Vlad, being alarmed by his flaming arrow. Vlad just stood their, awaiting it to come close enough for him to let go of his Flame Arrow. "Closer... Closer... Closer.. NOW!" He thought to himself before letting the arrow fly at the beast. While the arrow was flying through the air at such graceful speeds, Vlad drew another arrow in case if the first one did not hit, which was highly unlikely. This time the arrow he drew was a light colored tip, which was already ready to be shot. By the time the arrow had reached the bear, it seemed to have penetrated it's right shoulder, lower so that It may have struck one of it's lungs due to it looks like it was having problems. "This will blind it." he started to say. "You have 5 seconds." he added. Then he finally let the shot go at the bear like beast. While in Mid-Air the arrow let out a bright light that seemed strong enough to even blind the strongest. |

Mir originally planned to just stand and watch as his partner would slay the huge bear but it seems that wasn't Vlad's plan. Mir knew knives wont work with the bear's thick's skin, so he kept it back. But he had a plan. Mir ran toward's Vlad's direction. He pulled out his sword from his sheath and rushed towards their enemy. He lunged the sword in the distracted bear's chest. After he did so, he pulled it back out and moved away. If that wasn't enough to kill the beast, it would turn around and lock him as its target. |

Vlad smiled at Mir gently, showing that he had a human side of him. "Good strike. You have weakend it." he said when he used his appeared to appear beside him. He then pulled out a an arrow that turned into stone again, but this time, the tip of the arrow seemed to be more sharp that usual. "I'll finish it." he muttered. He then pulled back, and shot the arrow, allowing the arrow to move in a speed that he hadn't used before in the previous shots. In a heartbeat, a hole was made through the bears head, impaling through the eye and exiting from the neck. While it was still a rouge arrow, it took out a couple of trees after it went through the bear. After a while, the arrow disintegrated into dust, and Vlad walked towards the bear, to check if it was dead. "It's dead." he muttered. He then turned around towards Mir, and smiled. "Good work, I don't know what would have happened if I didn't shoot it, the bear could have spun around and tossed you. Reaction shot I assume." he said nervously, laughing slightly. |

Mir was impressed at Vlad's show of ability. If the guy was their enemy, then he would have to admit that he would be quite difficult to defeat although not impossible. Although, he didn't like it when the guy had assumed that he just would let himself be tossed about by the beast they just killed. After all, he still had confidence in his own ability despite his lack of experience. He was ready to face the bear if there was a need to do so. Still, he kept his thoughts to himself. Handing back the sword he was holding back to it's owner, Mir spoke. "This one is for dinner?" he said pointing at the lifeless bear with his free hand. |
