You have any recommendations?
I'm going to upgrade by Christmas.
Have about $100USD saved just for headphones.
Just no earphones.

$100? Nice.

Then I think I could recommend you these:

They cancel the noise from outside really good and also the music from the inside so people around you don't get annoyed.
With their low 24 Ohm Impedance, they're also suitable for portable use on MP3 players and stuff.

86€.
It's cheap compared to the standard price here.
But in the US it's much cheaper.

You should get it for about 80-100$

Headphones! <3

I have quite a few headphones actually but lo and behold, I don't use any of them right now.

The headphones I got are:
Sennheiser HD650 w/ Zu Mobius Cable
Sennheiser HD580
Alessandro Music Series Two (basically Grado SR325)
Jays d-JAYS
Koss Porta Pro

I seriously enjoy listening too all of them. I would say my faves are the HD650 and the Alessandros but nothing beats the d-JAYS for portability and usability, or the Porta Pro for just casual listening. I'm actually gonna rig my headphone setup this weekend and listen. Was so long ago and I've bought some new CD:s.

Haha, thanks. Well, I just think it has to do with too much money to waste and the fact that I'm a bit of a perfectionist. Wish I could afford the RS1 or that GS-1000 or whatever the model name is, or a sweet set of speakers for that matter. All in due time I guess ;-)

On and a completely random question, related however. I was thinking of getting some kind of solution for the PC to digitally take the sound, convert it with a DAC outside of the comp and then hook it up via RCA interconnects to my headphone amp. Not sure if there is any such solution though? I'd like to be able to use the Alessandros and the HD580 to the PC but the headphone jack on the speakers can't just drive them properly. The best option would of course be not to have to use the amp at all since I only have one. Swapping it between the CD Player and the computer would be such a hassle.

Any ideas?

Hmm, how did I miss this club.

I've gone through way too many headphones over the past 6 or 7 years (curse you, Head-Fi), and I've finally just decided to go back to the basics and got rid of everything except one pair of headphones (Sennheiser HD600) for home use, and one pair of IEMs (Jays q-JAYS) for portable use.

Need to get a new amp though...

New here. ^^

Since I thought the Apple I-pod earphones kinda suck, I decided to buy myself a Skullcandy Hesh Headphone. They're relatively cheap (I paid about 50€) and have a really good sound. :D

    I have a small collection.

Sennheiser HD 650 and HD 515
    Grado SR225

Then I have some old ones Alaric - CIS 250 with old paper speakers, good sound, though maybe not compared to the other head phones I got. But very Vintage ads a special flavour.

Then I have the X CAN V3 and Njoe tjoeb 4000 CD player.

And I listen to Heavy Metal, btw.

Edit> I do have a Pair of Speed-Link Medusa 5.1 ProGamer Edition that my Brother gave me. The thing is the audio quality isn\t to great with them, they have a built in amp and such, though they are ok, but he got a pair of Sennheiser pc 350 or something.

Quite, so far, haven't tried them on too many genres though.
    They sound great,
On another note I also got my MDR-V150 to feel better, squished my head too much hurt after 10 minutes.
I was thinking about the Koss PortaPro for portables, how are they?
    Many great reviews on them...

Those are really nice, and are what made me start to like AT headphones. I even considered switching to them from my HD600s, but in the ended I still though the Sennheisers more comfortable, so didn't bother.

I own a pair of Sennheiser HD280S. Which I use for pretty much everything that has to do with sound.

Even tho the Sennheiser site lists them for 220$ you can find them around 100-150$ in some places. I picked up this pair for 80$ off of newegg about a year and a half ago.

For a mic - I own a few logitech neck headsets that I just leave around my neck and adjust the mic to my mouth

They're decent, but I'll probably get some high quality headphones soon. I don't know exactly what I plan to get, but I want them to sound like my current headphones, just better.

I don't like headphones that have a lot of bass or otherwise mess with the sound too much. I don't need anything like that, I can use EQ if I want to adjust the sound.
