Here comes the escaped death row inmates Dump, Apart, Minimalist, and Saw as they are all working for Slur and his grand scheme. The Order led by Nagumo is mobilizing, and while all that's going on Sakamoto and company are watching movies to prepare for the the escapees to attack. While Lu and Shin are shopping at a pet shop, Saw attacks, and Shin is none too pleased that Lu's rank is higher than his. Saw causes an explosion that knocks Lu out as she protects Shin. But Shin fights back as he powers up with faster reflexes by blocking out all negative thoughts brought upon by Saw's intimidation tactics from his mind. It doesn't waste any time getting back into action.

Episodes 1 & 2 (I didn't even realized this is already airing)

I'm more entertained by the action of this season. I do feel like the first one had better appreciable scenes, i.e. the Ferris Wheel scene, and the one on the train.
The gory-ness seems much more present on this season though.

I guess both Shin and Lu has unlocked their potentials now. Shin gave some Trunks vibe, and maybe Lu pulled a Lunch (I got Dragon Ball vibes from that episode, basically xD).
They really gave a minor villain a backstory, seconds before she gets killed? That should've been shown first.

This might already be better than the first season. I'd expect some lay low comedy shenanigans after this arc, but hopefully, the last few episodes would be action-packed again; Comedy isn't too funny in this show.

Episode 14

After the fight with Saw, Sakamoto, Shin, and Lu visit the acupuncturist Miya seeing that they got roughed up. In the meantime, Minimalist attacks Sakamoto's wife, but it turns out to be Nagumo in disguise. While that's going on, Heisuke is fighting Apart at Tokyo Tower before Sakamoto comes in to save the day. After taunting him in battle by swiping his phone and pickpocketing him, Nagumo finishes Minimalist off by beheading him. And in the meantime, Sakamoto uses his fat body to slip through Apart's threads, and the two battle it out on the exterior of the tower as Apart feels alive for the first time in a long time. While that's going on, Shishiba and Osaragi are going after their next target at a ramen festival, but they are spending the time eating ramen instead before the target shows up. Lots of things going on, but the supporting cast is getting plenty of attention as Nagumo proves his worth, while Heisuke held his own, and then the ramen segment at the end is pretty funny.

Nagumo swipes his phone and toys around with him to get information, and he ultimately cuts the death row escapee's head off with a giant can opener. Meanwhile, Heisuke locates Apart at the base of the observation tower he's at and tries to snipe him, but Apart blocks the attack and goes up to his level to chase after him. Heisuke manages to get Sakamoto's attention, but even he gets pushed around as he can't seem to slim down. Sakamoto eventually gets used to moving around while chubby, and he forces Apart on the tower's outer scaffolding. Elsewhere, Shishiba and Osaragi have some ramen before looking for their next target, and he ends up sitting right next to them. Episode 15

Apart's backstory is explained as he became a cold-blooded assassin as he had a tough time fitting in with society. He was cared for by his father. But then everything changed when he killed his pet, and then after seeing that there's nothing wrong with his brain, his father lashed on the doctor, and Apart killed him feeling liberated with it. Killing is Apart's idea of human connection despite doing the exact opposite. So Sakamoto teaches this guy a lesson by having him hanging by the wires while being thrown up and down Tokyo Tower, and in the end he convinces Apart help him out and spill the beans about Slur and his attack on the JAA having overheard Kashima about the upcoming attack. And thus, the second phase begins with Slur and Gaku assaulting the Kanto branch of the JAA. So Apart is not like the other death row inmates as his childhood was just a mess and just needed to be around the right people to at least make it so that he won't serve some evil crime boss.

Meanwhile, Shin ends up fighting Mafuyu, a clean freak who got his bullet from a flight attendant. Mafuyu is quick on his feet, especially with the blades hidden in the heels of his shoes. Episodes 15-17:

Freakin' Takamura! I'm suddenly interested in this show because of that badass samurai oji-san. Looking forward for more.
I was initially rolling my eyes on the main villains thinking it's just another bunch of sadistic edgy fkboiz like MHA's League of Villains. But it did eventually worked for me after the battle between Takamura and Gaku. I'm guessing we'll see Slur fightng Nagomu before he face Sakamoto again; Seems like they have a history.

Since Lu isn't with them during the assassin exams, I guess her and Heisuke would just be a surprise back up again during chaotic situations.

Episode 18

Before boarding the plane, Shin asked Sakamoto not to assist him on the exam, and as such it's a one-on-one battle between Shin and Mafuyu in which he snuffs out Mafuyu's scheme through clairvoyance. As it turns out, Mafuyu is only 14 and is determined to get into the order by getting connections not knowing that power is needed more than anything. While that's going on, Sakamoto continues to assist Akira so that she can pass. Then there's the film director Kanaguri as he is one of the examiners and is known for producing assassin movies. Mafuyu insults Kanaguri as his tastes don't align with movies, and he shows just how dangerous he is. Kanaguri moves so fast that Shin can't react even though he knows the fututre. Then Kanaguri kills the pilot and blows a hole in the plane causing it to crash while the passengers to fall out. While the examiners have parachutes, the examinees need to figure out how to survive the fall. Akira makes a parachute from everybody's shirts using her stitching skills and while it was still a rough landing, they slowed down just enough upon impact on the water to survive. That filmmaker sure will do anything and everything to shoot the most thrilling scene, and that he did. So with that, Sakamoto, Shin, Mafuyu, and Akira are all onto the third exam.

But then comes famed hitman movie director Kanaguri, and when Mafuyu disses his profession, Kanaguri decides to attack them. Kanaguri is faster than even Shin's heightened reflexes, and then he sets his sights on Akira for making her his next star. Kanaguri swipes the bullets from everyone and shoots the captain in the head, putting the plane into a nosedive. But when that bores him, he blows a hole in the plane's fuselage and sends everyone into a freefall. It's onto the third stage with three special students join the exam in Toramaru, Shinaya, and Kaji via recommendations, thus they got to skip straight to the third stage. It's a game of tail tag where the examinees are divided into teams of three with Sakamoto with Akira and Kill Baby on the red team, while Shin, Mafuyu, and Kaji are on the white team. The exam starts with Toramaru going crazy and stealing tails as if they were collectables just like her Sakamoto plushie, and she runs into Shin's team. While that's going on, the yellow team has Sakamoto's team cornered after setting a trap, but Akira manages to slip through the net, and then she uses a pressure point assassination technique to take down the leader of that team, which Sakamoto recognizes as it turns out Akira is related to Rion Akao. So it looks like there are lots of guys with connections to Sakamoto here, and things are a lot more complicated now.

Three new applicants join the remaining test takers before the exam resumes, and one of them, Nao Toramaru, is a Sakamoto fangirl. For the next phase, the applicants are split into teams of three, and Shin and Sakamoto are on different teams. Shin is grouped with Mafuyu and Joichiro Kaji, another of the new arrivals, while Sakamoto is teamed up with Akira and a rather cowardly guy nicknamed Kill Baby. The next phase of the exam is a game where applicants have to swipe long flags hanging from their waists like tails.

Toramaru decimates one team as she swipes their flags, and then she sets her sights on Shin's team. Meanwhile, Sakamoto's team gets caught under a steel net by another team, but Akira manages to slip through. When the team approaches, Akira pierces the leader's neck. Sakamoto stops her from doing the same thing to the other two before tending to the leader's wound. When Akira mentions her full name to Sakamoto, he comes to some realization.

This second cour has been a lot better than the first. The art style is more clean and the action is better. The pacing is still too fast and Takamura isn't given the same due as in the manga but there is a noticeable improvement. I would certainly watch another season after this.
