Her mom nodded with a smile. "Here, I'll walk you out mom," Gwen said. "I'll be right back." The two walked outside.
"I like that boy. He's finally broken through that little shell of yours," she mother said quietly.
"What? You could tell?" Gwen asked surprised.
"Sweetheart, you're my daughter. I know you've tried to hide how you really feel these past several years. I'm glad someone could finally break through and start getting you back to the girl I've always known you should be," she said, wrapping Gwen in a hug.
"Hmm, yeah. He is amazing," she smiled, returning the hug.
"Now, I really should be going. I love you," her mom said, releasing her and disappearing from view.
"Love you too," Gwen said quietly, returning to Josef.

She gave a smile in return but something she saw in his caused something else to flash in the back of her mind. Her moon pendant grew slightly warm against her skin furthering whatever had started in her head. She threw up a block in her mind so he wouldn't be able to tell what she was actually thinking but he got thoughts that wouldn't make him suspicious of anything.
