Yotsuba and futaro never showed any connection and as far as I remember most of the interactions he had with her was just as friends. Miku, itsuki or Nino would've been much better choices for him to marry, personally I thought it should've been miku because she the most deserving one to win him over.

Isn't itsuki the same as Yotsuba?? then what's the difference between her and Yotsuba?? Some of the interactions between Itsuki and Fuutaro are also only shown as friends, she is never shown got romance development with Fuutaro, even Yotsuba has some romance development with Fuutaro although not as much as Miku, Nino, and Ichika who actually participated in the sister war.

Yotsuba had every right to won, people are just toooo biased towards miku and the worst girl nino so they are hating on it.

Easy answer is the ending was rushed. Give her more time to develop better relationship with Fuutarou and all problem solve. If not, then Fuutarou should end up with other which have much better potential like Ichika, Nino or Miku. I like QQ more than Saekano but the ending for Saekano is several miles better than QQ. And the ending for QQ is just absurd specifically the school festival arc.

I started the manga from the beginning after season 2 knowing yotsuba's going to finally have her share of character development and cut screentime.

what did I get? the most underwhelming W I've ever laid my eyes on since Domestic Girlfriend (ok, it's not as worse, but you get my point). not enough buildup and character development was properly given to her compared to what the rest of the girls have. she’s still the same girl we met from the first few chapters. yotsuba winning with the leverage of the (underwhelming) past was quite the cheap shot.

I don't hate the ending, but I thought she had the least development with him.
I kind of wanted a harem ending

Just how did it happen.. I seriously thought it would be Itsuki or Miku . Oooor Nino. Now I feel like not watching the movie.. ( it's not that I don't like her or something it's just I didn't expected it to be turned out like this. I thought it would be Itsuki from the start so.. it's better for me not watching the ending) 😅

I don’t actually hate it but I was slightly disappointed. I have the same problem with it as I have with the ishikawa, yoshikawa and Sakura love triangle in horimiya in the sense that it felt frustrating and just a bit confusing. (Just my opinion)

I only read the manga post the sister wars and I feel the same way.

The ending felt way to rushed and there is little-to-no development between Yotsuba and Futarou. It fell into the cliché of the first one he meets is the winner because technically he met Yotsuba first in the past. I still like the ending of the story and how all the characters got closure but it still bothers me HOW Yotsuba got the W

I don’t hate her at all, I actually love that she was the one that won, it’s just that like many people said, it felt rushed

best harem slice of life anime with an ending where MC must choose exactly one heroine. well, I hope girlfriend, girlfriend will be different. source: from the interview with girlfriend, girlfriend's author.

Welll she is the chosen one Negi tried too hard subverting tropes he end up feeding tropes the whole thing with the character is a fail she won because of a trope when Negi was against tropes it doesn’t make any sense...
A story without trope?! Thats impossible! Subverting may be possible but tropes are necessary for a work of fiction to exist.

Yotsuba wins because she's the one MC met as a kid. There's no point in time in the manga where their love gets to blossom at all nor is it built-up

It would have been better if the author had left the end open or if all 5 of them had married him.
But it seems that the author makes Toriyama-style decisions - (The dumbest possible option) Instead of Goku marrying Bulma, he marries Chichi.
Well, if Goku doesn't marry Bulma, then Yamcha would? Well no...
Not to mention that the plot itself was terrible at the end.
Another ruined good anime / manga

The bell kiss at the end of season 2 , That kiss is the reason I hate her she is the only sister that I actually hate if she didn't kiss him that day I would have had no problem with her winning tbh , that kiss made me hate her , cause she kinda betrayed all her sisters while acting as if she doesn't like fotaru + I know that she thought she didn't deserve him and tbh she really didn't deserve him I read the manga and I've seen her back story and tbh she deserved what happened to her ; she acted as if she was different than/superior to all her sisters and at the end she got what she deserved. I know that I take this way to seriously 😂 but really why did she have to kiss him like that , at least she should have taken off her itsuki disguise. If she had kissed him without wearing a disguise it would have been ok with me since he would know it was her.

The justification in manga isn't enough to support the winning girl which was planned by manga, those who really displayed their affection were ignored tbh.

Better the author should have left it mystery, I would be satisfied with people making their versions atleast

(Spoilers) What I’ll say first is her mob mentality fans made me dislike her a LOT more. Them aside however, I don’t like that his reasoning for choosing her was legitimately boiled down to she was was nicer to him for a day longer than miku. I also don’t like how she lies about knowing him throughout the series and even uses itsuki’s disguise to kiss him…she also couldn’t keep her promise she made to him as kids which was to become smart. she had practically no romantic buildup with him and was the most like a sister to him. itsuki was the first girl we were introduced to, miku was the first shown to us to actually fall in love with him and she worked extremely hard to try and win his feelings. ichika was the first one willing to go too far to try and win him over (I don’t agree with what she did at all but at least she showed how badly she wanted futato) and nino was the first to confess her feelings even tho she was the underdog of the story in terms of feelings towards him. From a writing standpoint yotsuba was the choice that made the least sense. I truly would’ve been happy with anybody except yotsuba winning, felt so underserving and unsatisfying. It is probably the only series where I wasn’t rooting for the childhood friend, she lied to him, kept too many secrets, and didn’t confess her feelings in time. I mean ffs when futaro confessed he didn’t even know her feelings yet…its just so poorly written. Then we find out itsuki loved him but didn’t realize how she felt until after she lost. Series as a whole i’d give a 7 maybe an 8 but that ending is awful.

I saw a lot of threads on this forum that wanted an original ending, I only followed anime and just found out that Yotsuba is the winner in the manga, actually I don't mind whoever the winner is. I love all girls.

But what is the reason you hate Yotsuba so you want the Original ending?? Are you all just disappointed because your favorite girl lost in the manga??

Yotsuba was the most under developed character of the show, along with Itsuki. I could actually have rooted for her if she had much relevance in the anime, but NO. She felt more like a side character than an actual MC. The ending is rushed as heck and cliche, because the fact that Futaro had already met her a long time ago doesn't necessarily means that she has to be the winner when they are plenty of better developed of her sisters that like him (Nino had the most character development as well as Miku, Ichika is also a good character/contestant when all is said and done) The ending was bad, cliche and out of contest and the disappointment was real with this one, at least for me

As to why I hate it is because. They say he likes yotsuba. Then bam marriage, case closed. The relationship between them doesn't get the time to mature.
In short the ending was rushed, atleast in my view point.
The reason I want an original ending would be to rather change the ending and give time for the relationship to develop even a little bit. I wouldn't mind if in the movie yotsuba ends up marrying him.
Well you’re him or not in the manga . So you can’t surely tell the progress of their relationship. There was a time-skip between him confessing and marrying so there must’ve been development nut you just didn’t see it.

Claiming off screen development is just an excuse for poor writing

Even though I wanted yotsuba to win, the ending was kinda disappointing, and after a while i understood why. The problem seems to be the school festival arc. The repetition of the same three days killed the pace and completed the development of all the characters (yes, fuutaro included, more than others i would say) in the same time. All the events of the arc are fundamental to the characters development but the fact that they are portrayed at the same time makes the reader ignore the development of the least favourites. In the case of ichika, nino and miku the last arc completed theirs but in the case of fuutaro, yotsuba and itsuki this was the center of their evolution but the story decides to have them equal screentime, so everybody just sees the development of all characters in that arc as similar, so the characters that feel more developed before the arc will still be after the arc. Then the fact that the author decided to makes this story as a mistery until the last was a bad choice, as readers valued more the romance than the mistery, so the author would have better given fuutaro the center of action instead of the quints, so that he can explain better his view.

In short: every plot element is right and has a meaning in the story. They give a reasonable reason why he fell in love with her but what went wrong was how it's portrayed, as the main couple has its developing point in the last arc but its overshadowed by the already developed characters
