Not everything needs a remake. The original isn’t perfect but it still holds up very well. I honestly don’t think a remake would do a better job.

I don't think so. Considering how bad reboots can be, i think it doesn't fit the risk. If it happens, i would like to know what happened after Light's Death. Yeah, i watched it but didn't readed the manga or got too deep into theories, i would like to see something concrete after the ending.

I personally don’t see the point in remaking shows that haven’t aged badly, are already great, and were concluded already.
Adding prettier colours isn’t good enough of a reason in my opinion, it already looks great, I love its muted colour palette and dreary atmosphere.
Yeah, the last 12 episodes could be better, but I don’t think they’re bad enough to warrant a remake either, I was satisfied with the anime’s conclusion.
I’m also just sick of remakes of media in general, we don’t need any more.

Of all the animes that don't need a remake, this one doesn't need it the most.

It's not like it's an action heavy series that could benefit from modern animation techniques, it's a detectives show that told the story it had to tell with a few licenses that makes both Manga and anime worth experiencing. Period.

There's absolutely no reason why it needs a remake

We need to let old shows rest, especially ones that have been flawless in most ways, like Death Note.

If studio Madhouse did a terrible job on it, then yes, a remake would be great. If the animation has become outdated, then a remake is justified. But these things don't apply. Death Note holds up amazingly, so remake is not warranted nor desired in the slighest.

I don't see what a remake would do, the animation and performances still hold up and the story was completed. It would just be a wasteful cash grab, and probably crap.
