Well that shows that Patrick is the one person she's interested in beyond just leveling up. I get the dragon being CG I just wish they had done a bit better job animating and texturing it so it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb quite so much. I was thinking making Alicia's eyes look like that might be a red herring, but this show hasn't been doing any of that sort of thing so I'd guess she really is under some kind of spell. Maybe one of Eleanora's underlings is up to something again. runec said: That actually makes sense to me. And it turns out they do have people watching her so they're being smarter than it may seem on the surface. So they didn't even question her about the spy? |

@zkeleton They could question her politely. She's the most powerful person in the world so you would think they would really want to know if she's considering switching sides. Heck, have the king ask her. |

@runec If that country's spy concluded she wasn't going to defect, probably the current country's spies (including the headmaster) think the same. |

At first, I had a feeling that Edwin only decided to be nice to Yumiella as an order from the King and Queen, after the 'Spy' incident. But with how that episode went on, I guess the story is just really straight-forward. With only 3 episodes left, I'd assume it'll just basically be Yumiella switching places with the "Heroine", with her, Patrick, and the Hero Party saving the controlled Alicia. I'd rather it not be that simple of an Anime story though so, I'm still hoping that they pull some twists and turns for a 2nd cour/season. |

@HOOfan_1 New or lazy writers? With the direction the show is going, i think it's going to end without anything interesting happening. |

Episode 10 As it turns out, Alicia is very weak as she is right now, and the burnout has gotten to her, but with Yumiella helping her out she leveled up in no time. They did it by conquering that same dungeon again and again until Alicia could defeat the boss by herself, and that got her a sword that only a light user can wield. While it remains to be seen if Heroine Level 99 is a thing yet, at least Alicia is strong enough to tackle the Demon Lord and not hold back her love interests. That was some extreme training, but Yumiella is determined to make sure things go on-script for Alicia seeing how she's supposed to be the secret boss and not the game's final boss. |

It was pretty fun watching Alicia level up and eventually beat the boss on her own. |

So the plot is literally forcing the plot on her. What is the plot going to do with her when it comes to love interests? She has to go down one conquerable character's route. Will it pick for her or force the harem ending? Yumelia could have crowd controlled the boss for her instead of one shotting it when it looked like she couldn't defeat it. At least let her get the xp. |

The underlying point of this episode is probably to set up conflict with Yumiella vs. the game rules. The NPCs are subject to effectively external control, and Yumiella's not immune from it stopping her from going to the demon lord's location. Maybe some kind of 'oh but you *are* treated as a villain at the end'. |

So if Yumelia looks like a shadow monster to Alicia because Alicia is Light and Yumelia is Dark it make me wonder why Alicia doesn't look like a glowing angelic entity to Yumelia . I suppose the closest we get to that kind of reaction is when Alicia flashes her "Hero Smile". |

Domvina said: My guess is because Alicia is the game's protag and is supposed to fight against the dark magic users like Yumi and the demon king. In the same way that the game world is starting to force Alicia to take certain actions it probably wants her to see Yumi and other users of dark magic as her enemy and someone/something that's a threat. The world doesn't require Yumi to see Alicia as an enemy. It's also possible that it has something to do with the strength of their magic. Alicia might start looking different to Yumi as her magic gets stronger. So if Yumelia looks like a shadow monster to Alicia because Alicia is Light and Yumelia is Dark it make me wonder why Alicia doesn't look like a glowing angelic entity to Yumelia |

Episode 11 Yumiella is under attack as some students tried to kill her by putting those magic-sealing cuffs on her under the pretense of an experiment, but they failed to realize that her physical strength is also at level 99. It turns out that Yumiella's father wants her dead, and he kidnapped Rita's sister to blackmail her into doing his dirty work. It turns out that Yumiella's parents are none too pleased that she's siding with the king's faction since she wants to end discrimination against all black-haired people, so they have her killed, but Yumiella is just too strong and her threat convinced them to hand over the title. And then Patrick confesses to Yumiella as while Patrick couldn't beat her in anything, he did in rock paper scissors, and according to Yumiella that's enough. One more episode left to go as the demon lord and his army has mobilized to take aim at the kingdom. |

@zkeleton Yeah, it didn't occur to me either. I was thinking it was a foreign power or something since it would have to be someone blissfully unaware of her power. Something I assumed her parents would know just through the noble grapevine. |

Episode 12 (Finale) The time has come to confront the demon lord as Yumiella confronts it with Alicia and the game's main capture targets. Alicia's party struggles, and Yumiella steps in to reveal the demon lord's identity, who is the former aide of the kingdom's first king. His rage is justified as the first king was a horrible person to say the least, but the new regime is much different. And so, Yumiella defeats the demon lord, who gets sucked into his own black hole. Just when it looked like things were in the clear, Alicia's mind is controlled and backstabs her that would have killed her had it not been for the amulet. And then Edwin confesses his love for Alicia to break the "demon lord's curse" on her. With that, the final year of school begins as Yumiella is still looking to conquer dungeons and wants to help Patrick level up. A solid way to end this, though I would have liked to know what exactly was causing Alicia's mind to be controlled as it's not actually the demon lord's doing. Final Thoughts While yet another one of those isekai into an otome game as the villainess type of shows that continues to grow ever so unoriginal, this one does a nice job being amusing and has a pretty good concept overall, and it handles an overpowered MC very nicely. The storytelling was pretty good, and while far from perfect, the writing was pretty good for the most part. On the flipside, the concept, plot progression, and production values where this show stood to improve upon. In all, it was nice to watch for what it is. Grade: B- (7/10) |

After hyping the demon lord for 11 episodes it turned out just to be some random guy that got really angry once? Then he goes down in one hit having barely inconvenienced them really. That all felt pretty rushed. Overall it was really average but I'll give it one extra point because I like Yumiella as a character. 6/10 |

Definitely the best of the 'reborn as a villainess in a fantasy world who goes to a magic school' genre. Of which there is a surprisingly large catalogue considering how specific it sounds when you write it all out like that. And Yumiella is the best MC of the genre. Alice's weird eyeballs creeped me out. I thought it was pretty good. 7.5/10 Rounded up to eight for being the best of the genre so far. |

Episode 10: Man! The horror that Alicia went through. And all that suffering to level up didn't even matter by the end xD Episode 11: Assassin: "It was just a joke!" Yumiella: "Do you really think that's going to fly?" (Says the girl who fell for the Magic-sealing Shackles.) Yumiella and Patrick's rock-paper-scissor moment was pretty sweet, I must say. Episode 12: Even if Yumiella is over-leveled/powered, that villain was still too weak to be a main boss. I love the comical way Yumiella directed the entire 'Power of Friendship' moment. And thanks to Eleanora for participating xD At least she gave us the cute ED theme. None of my theories hit the mark, not even the wall that the dartboard was on xD But I don't mind since the way they did it was pretty funny and entertaining. I already rated this a 6 but, I'll bump it up to 7 for the fun of it. The eccentricity and obliviousness of Yumiella really made it fun to see her antics and how the people around her would react to them. And as already mentioned, her VA really made all that work with her performance. I appreciate this Anime for being a low-budget fun little gem. |

That was really great. So many shows try to do the clueless overpowered hero trope lately and really just fall flat. This pulled it off perfectly though, of course Fairouz Ai's dead pan performance as Yumiella Dolkness (is her name a play on Cinderella, so "Dream"-ella?, also given the Japanese mixing of 'L's and 'R's I liked calling her "Dorkness") was probably the major reason. Though the story was great too, it had enough twists and turns to keep it entertaining even though you can tell it was very rushed to fit the whole story into 12 episodes, but that's better than having a "go read the source material" ending IMO. Be nice if it could get an OVA or something to revisit the characters, they were fun. Overall a really well done otome game isekai, probably my favorite of that little sub-genre. |
