Well that shows that Patrick is the one person she's interested in beyond just leveling up.

I get the dragon being CG I just wish they had done a bit better job animating and texturing it so it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb quite so much.

I was thinking making Alicia's eyes look like that might be a red herring, but this show hasn't been doing any of that sort of thing so I'd guess she really is under some kind of spell. Maybe one of Eleanora's underlings is up to something again.

That actually makes sense to me. The king and queen have been super deferential to her so I wouldn't be surprised if no one that works for them is allowed to speak with her without their permission. Don't want to risk someone in the gov't saying something dumb and pissing off the most powerful person in the world. And it turns out they do have people watching her so they're being smarter than it may seem on the surface.

@zkeleton They could question her politely. She's the most powerful person in the world so you would think they would really want to know if she's considering switching sides. Heck, have the king ask her.

I was thinking more someone from the country the spy came from, he seems like a Chekov's gun. Why put something in there about another country trying to steal Yumiella away and the fact that the Demon King will only attack a single country if they aren't going to use that in the story later?

So the plot is literally forcing the plot on her. What is the plot going to do with her when it comes to love interests? She has to go down one conquerable character's route. Will it pick for her or force the harem ending?

Yumelia could have crowd controlled the boss for her instead of one shotting it when it looked like she couldn't defeat it. At least let her get the xp.

Really? They've been mentioned so little in the show it never even occurred to me.

@zkeleton Yeah, it didn't occur to me either. I was thinking it was a foreign power or something since it would have to be someone blissfully unaware of her power. Something I assumed her parents would know just through the noble grapevine.

@runec Maybe they're just so incompetent they don't understand what levels are, or how to listen to reports.

Episode 12 (Finale)

The time has come to confront the demon lord as Yumiella confronts it with Alicia and the game's main capture targets. Alicia's party struggles, and Yumiella steps in to reveal the demon lord's identity, who is the former aide of the kingdom's first king. His rage is justified as the first king was a horrible person to say the least, but the new regime is much different. And so, Yumiella defeats the demon lord, who gets sucked into his own black hole. Just when it looked like things were in the clear, Alicia's mind is controlled and backstabs her that would have killed her had it not been for the amulet. And then Edwin confesses his love for Alicia to break the "demon lord's curse" on her. With that, the final year of school begins as Yumiella is still looking to conquer dungeons and wants to help Patrick level up. A solid way to end this, though I would have liked to know what exactly was causing Alicia's mind to be controlled as it's not actually the demon lord's doing.

Final Thoughts

While yet another one of those isekai into an otome game as the villainess type of shows that continues to grow ever so unoriginal, this one does a nice job being amusing and has a pretty good concept overall, and it handles an overpowered MC very nicely. The storytelling was pretty good, and while far from perfect, the writing was pretty good for the most part. On the flipside, the concept, plot progression, and production values where this show stood to improve upon. In all, it was nice to watch for what it is.

Grade: B- (7/10)

An enjoyable series. Certainly the best of "villainess" anime I've seen thus far. That they kissed and are getting a "happily ever after" is a nice change from the usual wishy-washy will-they-or-won't-they teasing.

Yumiella's monotone performance near the end was pretty funny. Overall i think this was enjoyable, but nothing special really.

@Xuhybrid Fairouz Ai was definitely the best part of the series. Her portrayal of Yumiella just made the character.
