Rudeus Greyrat is the reincarnation of a Japanese man who became a shut-in, crippled by fear of the outside world, after a brutal bullying incident. After the death of his parents, his younger siblings throw him out and he dies in an attempt to save a group of High Schoolers about to be hit by a truck. Starting over as the baby of a pair of retired adventurers in a new world, Rudeus is blessed with the mind of an adult and a determination to do better in his new life. Rudeus becomes a child prodigy whose magic surpasses even skilled adults. He is sent by his father to become the tutor of a distant female cousin, Eris Greyrat. After working hard to gain the admiration of his violent, temperamental cousin, an unforeseen disaster teleports them away to the Demon Continent, far from the rest of their family. They meet Ruijerd, a Superd whose race is feared as boogeymen by everyone in this world. They find Ruijerd is actually a very honorable man with a soft spot for children. They travel with Ruijerd, with the aim to get back home as well as repair the reputation of the Superd. On their adventures they meet Rudeus's father, Paul, who informs them that everyone Eris and Rudeus know were also caught in the teleportation disaster and spread far and wide. Paul has formed a team to search for his missing family. After a quarrel with his father and quick reconciliation, Rudeus departs with Eris and Ruijerd to find his missing family. They are able to rescue his stepmother/maid Lilia and her daughter, Rudeus's half-sister, Aisha. Upon returning to Eris's home city, they find it destroyed and all of Eris's family dead. In a state of grief, Eris seduces Rudeus, but after taking his virginity, leaves him. Depressed over being abandoned by Eris, Rudeus is only able to pick himself back up by remembering his helpless former life and desire to find and save his mother, Zenith, who is still missing. | Episode 0 Before getting into the main story, it's an episode that focuses on Sylphie, who also goes by the alias of Fitz. She's the elf that Rudy befriended and mistakenly thought was a boy, so dressing like one of the guards is a look that's natural for her. She becomes friends with the princess Ariel, and at night Sylphie protects her from the assassin known as the Night-Eyed Hawk. Sylphie is one of the characters that was underutilized in the first season, and understandably so seeing that Rudy and Eris were elsewhere for the second half. Next time, it's back to the main story where Rudy is now a teen. |
| LOL, the innuendo about nipples at the start of this episode. I guess this is kind of like an OVA style episode, but I believe it is part of the main story too. I wonder if we will get an episode dedicated to what Ghislaine did right after being teleported. I wonder if the play they were watching was supposed to be MacBeth |
| Yikes, Sylphie got the worst teleport yet. And she wasn't just falling straight down. Somehow she'd gotten some kind of lateral velocity too. Anybody but her or Rudy probably would have been splat on the ground. And the hair color change wasn't voluntary. So was the princess being sincere with Sylphie there or was that just a master class in manipulation? Pilemon is supposed to be a scumbag so I wonder who he's really siding with. Looks like Rudy is going to meet his cousin. |

Yes, it was Macbeth with some King Lear thrown in too. Good opening episode. I missed Slyphie from season 1. The only one I really trusted in Episode 0 was Sylphie. I did not trust anybody else in that episode since motivations were unclear and all seem to be weaving conspiracies. Still it's back and I'm glad. |

| I know the mana disaster teleported everyone, but I never expected Sylphie to end up warped to a point in the sky and falling down. And all the royals of the Asura Kingdom, Ariel included, seem to have their own agendas for taking the throne. |

| So an uncensored version of ep 0 came out. The scene that got cut up ended up being the one where Darius and Grabell were talking while attending that play. Instead of Darius patting the assassin's back his hand was lower down. They were also a couple other shots during that scene where you could see Darius and Grabell at the same time and he was rubbing the girl's shoulder blades, and a close up where he put his hand under her chin. Those didn't seem like that big of a deal to me, but maybe they're being extra cautious because of how some people freaked out over this show in season 1. | Torrents with links to comparison pictures. For example, the guy having his hand on the girl's butt in the uncensored version compared to her lower back in Crunchyroll's version. Personally, switching up hand positions like that feels too prudish in this case. |

Possibly. Sony has become censorship happy in the last 5-6 years, but others are speculating it's for China and they'd rather just give everyone outside of Japan the same version. Apparently people mad at censorship squawk less than people who don't even watch the show but want it censored. |

COVID led to the delay being six months rather than the three that were originally planned. |
| Episode 1 And now, it's back to the main story as Rudy prepares to enter magic school. But before that, he's searching far and wide for his mother, and it takes him to a place where it's cold. His last party was wiped out, but he joins a new one and goes on quests seeing that if Rudy has any chance of accomplishing his mission, he will need money. Quite a great way to pick things up as with the way the first season ended, Rudy is doing some serious soul searching. |
| Looks like Rudeus's depression was worse than I thought, what with him clenching his chest like he's having a heart attack. But it looks like he's gotten over things a little, as he's willing to move on from his heartbreak. |

| Explooooooosion!!! You know we were all thinking it. I'm glad we have a couple of typical mid tier isekais this season to help us appreciate this one that much more. I didn't think he'd still be that much down in the dumps from what happened with Eris. It's weird seeing him be that quiet when he's normally so talkative. That blond was pretty dang annoying. |

| Episode 2 Rudy has been spending his time there working out and going on quests with his new party. But after a quest a drunk Sol lashes out at Rudy, and Mimir dies while Sara goes missing. Rudy decides to make himself useful by looking for Sara in the middle of a blizzard as Mimir was killed and Sara got separated from the party after a buffalo stampede. Sara was inside the tree about to become plant food, but Rudy arrived just in time to save her. While that was reckless, it's a great thing Rudeus is that strong and it will be interesting to see what happens next now that he has proven his worth to this party. |
