The original Clocktower is also getting released for the west. Legend of Dragoon got re-released on Sony consoles 4 months ago. It seems that developers are now realizing that nostalgia sells better than current day crap. Still holding out on Dino Crisis,Parasite Eve and Silent Hill however. But the prospects look good. Oh, and also hyped for Tsukihime: Piece of Blue Glass Moon in 2024. Who knows? Maybe if it sells well enough we will also get Realta Nua and Kara no Kyoukai with official english captioning. We already got Mahou Tsukai no Yoru but there's still quite a bit left of Type-Moon left to get a western release. A shame it had to be the edited remakes instead of the original works. But they were pretty hardcore eroge after all.  Seitokai Yakuindomo S2 OVA After starting to watch Clear Card the second time around, I'm noticing a lot of continuity errors between the original series, movies and Clear Card. For starters, a lot of characters eye colours have changed. The sequence of events that led Sakura to confessing to Syaoran was also significantly changed. You wouldn't notice it if you haven't watched Sealed Card, but seeing as though I finished the movie this morning and then immediately watched the prologue on CR it was really jarring. And while not a continuity problem, but in the original series a lot of passing by characters actually had proper faces, but in the series and the prologue they made them faceless cgi abominations and during homeroom when the teacher came in they were drawn as stick figures. Imagine if Clear Card was animated in the same fashion the original series was? I can't get enough of that grainy old school design. |

I heard Silent Hill 2 is the best of the series, but I did play a snippet of 1 when I was in High School and visiting one of my friends. But I got stuck and quit xD Parasite Eve: It's not overwhelmingly as important to me as some of the other games I wish would be re-released, but I do like old games and I heard that Parasite Eve 1 had a decent story. Dino Crisis: Supposedly Dino Crisis 1 was to be released on PS+ but I haven't seen it yet so who knows. Steam has the soundtracks for 1 and 2 but not the games themselves. I was bothered by the changes and did a little digging into the series. Supposedly the Prologue OVA to Clear Card is faithful to the manga and episode 70 and Sealed Card movie of the original series are Anime Original so yea... Also supposedly some of the cards captured in the old TV series weren't in the manga, like Dash for example. But the CGI pedestrians in Clear card, the manga style on screen captions for when a character gets flustered and thinking/doubting another character are pretty jarring to me. I still enjoy watching the series as a whole, but some things are just plain annoying. And while flowery backgrounds during character interaction did occur during the original TV series, it wasn't as frequent as it is on a per episode basis of Clear Card. But I'm more surprised that they haven't remade Cardcaptor Sakura to be more manga faithful. It seems to be happening somewhat more often nowadays.  Seitokai Yakuindomo S2 OVA Only one more raw to go before I need to start watching shit on my PC again. But I still can't decide between Tenchi, Banner of the Stars or attempting to watch Lupin the Third. EDIT: It also seems that Konami is re-releasing the full Metal Gear Solid franchise on Steam in small piece by piece parcels xD And also re-releasing an HD remaster of Suikoden 1 and 2. |

Star Ocean: The Second Story is getting a remaster for the Sony consoles. Which now means all Star Ocean games are available on the Ps4 and up. This also means that barring my copy of Fate/Extra and Untold Legends games my PSP is now worthless because the games I got the PSP for are now much easier to keep track of and have achievements. Barring the actual price of the Star Ocean Second Story remaster it's pretty nice to know that it's easier to play them now. But, they added some QOL changes to the remaster. Now it has Fast Travel, the most un-Star Ocean mechanic they could have added. And 3D backgrounds with 2D characters. It's very unsettling to look at, kinda throws me for a loop when I acknowledge the fact the background is 3D but the char sprites are 2D. And now that I've started collecting the Urusei Yatsura blu-rays. Beautiful Dreamer is now out of stock everywhere except for bootlegs and people asking $300 for the dvd/blu-ray. And Discotek has a link to Rightstuf as the only retailer that sells it anymore and it just leads to a 404 error cause supposedly they don't sell it anymore. |

And all I could think was "Are gamers really that pent up that they have to have make naughty mods for sandbox games?" Oh, and we have more news about the upcoming Spice and Wolf project. And alas, it's a remake. Not the sequel we all wanted. So naturally I temper my expectations. |

And then you get to thinking: If modders can do it easily, why don't the developers do it for the game without the need for mods? EDIT: The final Rebuild of Evangelion movie is just about to get it's long awaited physical release. My problem is, I have the remainder of the series on DVD from Madman. And the only way I can get it and play it without the need for my multi region player or PC is if I buy the blu-ray from MVM. But my worry is. Will the subtitles be vastly different from the previous movies? Will names have been changed because of subtitle authors? Too many questions, too many worries. But it does finish the series. |

Kind of annoying because supposedly somewhere around Nov/Dec the Konosuba movie is finally getting it's long awaited physical release in Australia/NZ. Sony's monopoly is slowly getting near completion. EDIT: Madman now only specializes on Live action and non anime related cartoon movies and documentaries. Oh, and Space Pirate Captain Harlock is now officially OOP. |

I didn't know that back in the early 2000's to cut costs Madman used American and British prints of old series like Ah My Goddess and they were region free but were marked with Region 2 and 4. I was about to say that I thought it weird that Madman had Region 2 dvds given they are distributors in Australia and New Zealand. Heh in the beginning I told myself I'd only buy my top 10 favourite shows, but now I'm at nearly 500 complete series. And most of them are shows unavailable for streaming in my country so it's a bonus. I still have to sell off most of them because I either don't like them or don't feel like watching them. But because of the cost of shipping, it's not really worth attempting to sell unless you are a business anymore. It is sad that they sold out fully to Sony. But in the end as long as my local retailers don't refuse to stock their goods it's basically just the same as usual with a new coat of paint. |

Yea, it goes far in explaining some of my pre 2000's shows having Region 2/4 or 1/4 like my copy of the Oh My Goddess OVAs and Tenchi Universe and some of my Tenchi in Tokyo discs (Had to collect em bit by bit and only some of them are 1-4, some of em are just region 1, but I do have two multi region players now, one blu-ray player next to my TV and my PC has a multi region player built in). Kinda miss the old Geneon releases, they were almost always multi region. It's funny to think that in this day and age we still suffer region availability. Music CDs have been more or less region free since they were introduced barring some exceptions, GB/GBA/DS/PSP/PSVITA and now PS4/Xbox 1 and Switch games are region free but we still can't get proper multi region playback without buying a specialized player. Even though in some countries it's not illegal to bootleg and pirate anime and so on. When I was watching Urusei Yatsura and the site I was using had some problems with duplicated episodes or missing subtitles I had to use Youtube to find a couple of the episodes (Like the OVAs) but all of the ones that weren't copyright struck were in Spanish and that one OVA I watched in Japanese without any subtitles at all. |

I only ever really used Youtube for music and the rare occasion when I get stuck in a game and need a hint at where to go or what to do next. The Urusei Yatsura business was an unfortunate result of what happens when those sites scrape their videos from sites that no longer exist anymore or had issues with uploading. But at least Urusei Yatsura is a thing of the past, I'm currently at 2 out of 4 of the blu-ray re-releases and there's rumour of the OVAs eventually being released on blu-ray. But I don't really care about the OVAs as much as the Movies, and Beautiful Dreamer is currently out of print for the time being. That or it doesn't meet Crunchyroll's 'standards' now that they own Rightstuf and they have all the movies streaming on Crunchyroll (But only for America). I went through all my old games and found my copy of Drakengard. I wonder if with the popularity of the Nier franchise on current consoles whether the three Drakengard games will ever get a port or remaster for current consoles. People seem to doubt it given how..... honest Drakengard was with it's controversial themes and with how loosely the games are related to Nier. Some think that the gameplay itself would be off putting to fans of the Nier franchise and others think that the game has settings and themes too controversial for gamers. It saddens me a little because Drakengard 2 is pretty expensive and Drakengard 3 is only on PS3. I'm the kinda guy who plays games and watches anime in order. |

 Urusei Yatsura 2022(Technically, it's actually part 2 so that makes it 2023?) Only 5 episodes in and it's just as disappointing as season 1. But finish it I must, only 2 more seasonal releases to go.  Bakemonogatari I also started watching Sailor Moon Super S. And yea, freak of the week is back, and this time with Creepy Space Carnies. And more Chibi-Usa and now we have Artemis and Luna's kitten, who is named Diana. Who somehow got permission to go back in time to hang out with Chibi-Usa and her parents. And one thing I don't get is that it's completely fine for Chibi-Usa and Diana to actually acknowledge whose children they are. Wouldn't doing that cause the future to change? Cause Artemis,Luna,Usagi and Mamoru have to accept the fact that they will all wind up together and have children, cause if they don't then Chibi-Usa and Diana won't be born meaning they can't go back in time. |

 Urusei Yatsura 2022  Bakemonogatari I've lost all serious desire to play games over the last couple of years. Used to play the Pokemon games seriously but after Sword/Shield and Scarlett and Violet I can't bring myself to play more than 20 minutes of any of the games save for Blue/Red/Yellow and Gold/Silver. These last few games just don't feel like Pokemon games. I did however get Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack so I could play older games. Finished Zero-Wing and all I got was two sets of line dancing purple vegetables and the giggles over the famously horrible English translation job of the opening credits. And I reached Death Wind 1 on F-Zero. I also finished Kirby's Dream Land, Burger Time Deluxe, did about 32 levels of Donkey Kong and started playing Alone in the Dark. And I'm trying my hardest to avoid playing Metroid Fusion and Super Metroid until I've finished the other games in chronological order (I'm a stickler for game franchise playthroughs) I also remembered that it wasn't Doom I played last on my Xbox One S but Ninja Gaiden Black instead. Kinda wanna play Drakengard again and I'm struggling with whether or not I should buy Nier Replicant (Finished a single playthrough on Nier Gestalt on Xbox 360, which was just called Nier) given that I don't really hate the series, but having to play the games 8 times to get the real ending is a bit grueling for someone with my attention span. On PS4 though I finished Resident Evil 0 and got owned by zombie dogs in Resident Evil 1, and finished Amnesia: The Dark Descent but still have yet to play Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs and I dunno if I wanna spend so much money on buying the rest of the Resident Evil games given how much I suck at puzzle games (I've only finished 5/6 and Revelations 1 and 2 let alone the earlier games or the newer 7 and 8) Was also playing Horizon Zero Dawn cause I got Forbidden West cheap a couple of weeks ago but my gaming drive is near nonexistent. Doesn't help that I've had to keep a vigil because of a large number of burglaries lately in my area which ruins my mood for gaming and anime late at night. We put up security cameras a couple of days ago and they keep picking up the neighbours cat and my own one when he goes outside to use the toilet. Can't wait till Metroid Prime 2-3 and Tsukihime come to the Switch next year though. Still having trouble tracking down a reasonably priced copy of Bayonetta 1 and 2 for Switch, Bayonetta 3 is also surprisingly cheap. Dunno how I feel about the prequel though. |

Yesterday when I went into town I went and bought Darksiders Remastered and Star Ocean: The Divine Force.
Darksiders being cheap was to be expected cause it was a pre-owned game and it's just a graphical upgrade and dlc to an old game.
But Star Ocean was unusually cheap for a brand new game in my country.
And after I bought it I started getting that bad feeling that always comes with "Why was it so cheap?"
I'm really dreading playing it.

Yesterday when I went into town I went and bought Darksiders Remastered and Star Ocean: The Divine Force.
Darksiders being cheap was to be expected cause it was a pre-owned game and it's just a graphical upgrade and dlc to an old game.
But Star Ocean was unusually cheap for a brand new game in my country.
And after I bought it I started getting that bad feeling that always comes with "Why was it so cheap?"
I'm really dreading playing it.
But I still have all the older star ocean games to play first, as is my habit when it comes to game franchises.

| Both ways of quoting wind up with the same end result. At completely different sections of the post, as you can see if you look at your post after submitting it. And attempting to examine the BBCode of your post after you post it still doesn't allow you to edit out or even see any of the stuff you didn't intend on being there. And Preview doesn't even show the true end result of posts. Which means MAL developers done goofed. I guess we will have to abstain from quoting each other until it's 'fixed' if it ever does get fixed to avoid re-quoting every single image from all of our previously quoted conversations.  Reincarnated as a Sword  Crest of the Stars So lately I've been keeping with with Crunchyroll news to find out more about the release date of Tsukihime. Unfortunately because of my diligence I found out that Hypnosismic got a season 2. Of all the garbage to get a second season it's the show about women taking over the world and guys having to start a revolution by hypnotizing people with rap music. Oh, and the Spice and Wolf Project is a remake and not a sequel. So it seems 2020 and onwards are the years of remakes we didn't need. Also, after finishing watching what we have of the Urusei Yatsura remake and after reading Maison Ikkoku I get the feeling that Rumiko Takahashi's manga aren't actually that good at all. I mean, I love harem romcoms and shit like that, but I hated Maison Ikkoku's manga, and over 85% of the original Urusei Yatsura is anime original material. And the Urusei Yatsura remake is supposedly faithful to the manga in it's entirety. So it's either that the manga is crap or the studio that did it is crap. Who can say. |
 198 -----------  Recently I finished the 2000 Kong animated series because I didn't get to watch it when it was airing when I was a kid and was always curious about it as a monster fan. It a disaster. Going to say it now, the animated Godzilla series was the better of the two. The first season had its problems but the writing and animation quality were still solid. Over-stuffed with the plot but it was still passable. The second season is where the quality took a heavy nosedive. The plot got extremely repetitive, the characters got increasingly dumber you can't recognize them as the same characters from the first season, and the animation quality was atrocious in where you can't have a scene without distracting animation errors and shortcuts. The following movie King of Atlantis was worse by turning it to a musical when the main series was anything but, and the writing felt like it was done by people who never bothered to watch the series first so everyone is increasingly dumber and nastier than ever. The following movie Return of the Jungle while had messy CGI animation, it at least had better writing for a change. Right after the first season, this is the best written installment of the entire franchise. |

 Urusei Yatsura 2022  Bakemonogatari When it comes to old cartoons (excluding anime) I don't really watch that much anymore. Basically just the old tv shows and movies you watched as a kid if you were born before the year 2000. Nowadays I don't really have the time to watch my old cartoon movies, but I still have a soft spot for Felix the Cat,The Land Before Time and Fantasia 1940. That being said I also don't have the majority of my old dvds and vhs tapes, a fair chunk of them were sold off to pay for the cost of moving when we left the north island to get closer to the rest of the family, and to escape the violence in my home neighbourhood. Rest got stolen by people who were there under the pretense of taking part in the garage sale. |

| That's fantastic news. Provided it's unchanged as much as possible from the previous iteration. Would be nice to be able to properly do multi image mots and mot tunnels again. Did you keep your bookmark from the original site? I kept it up until almost recently and gave up on it ever being usable again. Jokes on me.  Reincarnated as a Sword  Crest of the Stars I'm currently in an Anime slump right now. After I finished Otaku Elf I watched Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid, Ah My Goddess and Lucky Star. I still have the final Sailor Moon movie to watch and the final season of the tv series but I've been so reluctant to do it even though they are both shorter than their predecessors. Then there's Fate/Stay Night: Heaven's Feel that I have neglected to watch yet. Not counting Escaflowne that I've had for about 8 years and haven't watched yet. Non Non Biyori just finished being released and I bought those and haven't watched them yet (Again, I watched them when they were on CR save for Vacation) Also got Gunsmith Cats, R.O.D TV Series, X, Metropolis and others that I've just left collecting dust. Gunbuster OVA will be arriving in about a week or two, and I've been contemplating buying Bubble Crisis/Crash and Madox-01 because I like older anime. Urusei Yatsura and the final Evangelion movie comes out next month. But all these choices to make just confuses me and makes me rewatch stuff I've already seen before. And that's not even taking into consideration my queue on CR is now at 200 unwatched shows. |

When I first joined /AMP/ and started getting into the hairstyle hunt and whatnot I saved useful links to my browser so I wouldn't lose track of them. Like currently I've got a bookmark to the latest post of all our hunts and to the thread itself (Used to have more bookmarks when we were on Crunchyroll but everything is all tightly packed here). Also used to have a bookmark to Wigflip but I deleted it when I figured that it wasn't coming back.  Urusei Yatsura 2022 Sentai really needs to get their shit together when it comes to subtitling. And HiDive needs to do an update on all their apps and websites so it remembers my language settings.  Bakemonogatari Speaking of subtitling. I went through my CR queue and just scrolled up and down the page several times and decided to watch whatever I stopped on. I wound up with Pani Poni Dash (A somewhat recent 'gift' from the Crunchyroll/Funimation fusion) and noticed that quite often subtitles don't appear when characters talk. And there's also an episode where they do sort of like a River City(?) game reference for almost half an episode where the dialogue shows up in game format text boxes. But NONE of the dialogue that happens in those parts has subtitling so I have no fucking idea what's being said other than the fact that someone is talking. And it seems that it's either all of Funi's A.D Films licenses or just the majority of their older catalogue. But from experience I know there's no point complaining about it because when AnimeLab was still up and running under Funimation ownership, the subtitles of Gunslinger Girl and Moon Phase didn't work for episodes at a time and all I get is "Have you tried clearing your cookies and updating your PS4?". Sometimes I wonder if these streaming services screw us on purpose so we buy the home video releases when they come out. |
