| "You get pain all over your body, you're always too weak to stand up, you're asleep most of the time, you lose weight very easily. Things like that." |
| "Hm..." Kenta thought to himself. "Maybe I encountered it... Not positive though. The guy had some of those symptoms I'm sure of it, but not so sure bout the others." |

| "Oh I see. Well I suppose I'll just have to look." |
| "I can give you their phone number or address if ya' want it. They hired me once. Not sure how much it'll help though." Kenta blew out a puff of smoke again. |

| "Oh thank you! That's as good a place as any to look. I'd really appreciate it." |
| Kenta took out a pen and paper from his jacket and wrote down their phone number and address. "They're kind of far away, but better than nothing I guess." |

| "Thanks." Maggie said, taking the paper and smiling. "You're really nice you know." |
| "Depends on your perspective I guess." Kenta said calmly. "Lot of people don't think I'm nice." |

| "Oh, I see. Well I suppose I don't know you well enough to say." |
| "That's true. Besides, just cause you do a nice thing doesn't make you nice. Hands are way too dirty for that to clean them." Kenta said. |

| "Oh? Is that supposed to make you sound scary?" Asked Maggie, joking for the most part. |
| Kenta chuckled slightly. "Not really. But for the most part I am, when I'm working at least." He said. |

| "Ah, and what is it you do?" |
| "Mercenary." Kenta stated blankly. "Former military too." He then blew out one more puff of smoke and stubbed it out in the ash tray. |

| "I see. Well, you do what you have, right?" |
| "Yeah, unfortunately people don't see it that way usually." Kenta said. "They take it personally, but I guess no one can blame'em." |

| "Well, I know how war can be. People do what they need to and what they're told. You can't blame them for that." |
| "Ah!" Maggie exclaimed, nearly falling out of her chair with surprise. |
| "Well, glad I met someone who sees it that way. Gotta' put food on the table one way or another. And this really all I'm good at." He said looking at his shotgun. Kenta then looked back calmly, in contrast to Maggie. "Ya' know ya' don't have to yell." |

| "What do you want?" She asked Trent. |

| "Actually,'' Maggie continued, ''you know what? I'm just going to go to to bed." She got up and grabbed her bag, turning back to Kenta. "Nice meeting you. I hope you can get me that phone number. I'll be staying here a few days, so you know where to find me." She waved and headed upstairs, leaving her practically untouched glass of wine on the counter beside Kenta. |
| "Alright, I'll get it to ya' before you leave." Kenta told her as she left. "She really isn't a drinker." He chuckled slightly as he sipped his glass again. He looked down at his shotgun again. "Well, might as well relax since I haven't been given anything to do." Usually his Death walker would give him assignments, almost never has he been able to relax or take regular contracts lately. |

| Maggie went upstairs and threw her bag down by her bed. She lay down and sighed heavily. 'At least I found SOMEONE who could help me.' She thought. "Don't worry, Akira, I will get back to you, I swear.' |
| The next morning, Maggie got up early, showered and got dressed, as she slipped the strap of her eyepatch over her ponytail, she she remembered the day she'd made her contract. It wasn't that long ago, in fact, so recent that the marks by where her left eye used to be had not even completely scarred over. She pushed the thought away and went downstairs for breakfast. She was going to be wandering around town and hoped she'd find Kenta before she left so that she could get the references he mentioned. She would be in town for a while yet, but she still wanted somewhere to start. |
| Kenta was in town, sitting on a bench smoking as usual. He was curious as to what his Deathwalker was up to. He still never understood why some of the Deathwalkers fought eachother and others allied eachother. Truthfully, he didn't think he'd ever understand any of them. He stared at the sky that was clear and sunny unlike the day before. |

| Maggie noticed the nice weather outside and after she'd eaten, she decided to go outside. She figured she could wander around a bit. After all, she might find someone anyway. |
| Kenta eventually took a nap sitting on the bench, his shotgun laying on his lap. It was rare that he just got to relax. |
|
| As she walked by, Maggie caught a glimpse of someone lying on the bench and then she realized it was Kenta. She smiled slightly, amused that he'd just fallen asleep like that. |
| Kenta continued to sleep calmly before a man walking by stumbled dropped his briefcase, making a thud when it hit the ground. Kenta jumped slightly, then when realizing it was just his instincts sighed and laid back down, closing his eyes. |

| Maggie laughed slightly. She wondered whether or not she should bother Kenta; he looked so relaxed. |
| "I'm already awake." Kenta said out loud, indicating that it was alright to talk with him. |

| "Oh, hello there." Maggie said. "Sorry, I thought you were taking it easy so I didn't want to interrupt or anything." |
| "Don't worry 'bout it. Unfortunately, I think death would be the only way I'd be able to actually relax." Kenta told her as he sat up and stretched. "So there something you wanted to talk about or did you just wanna' say hello?" |

| "Both I guess." Maggie said, shrugging. "I was hoping I could get those references from you today, if it's no trouble." |
| "Oh, right." Kenta dug into his pocket and pulled out a piece of paper. "This has there phone number and location. Hope it can help you." |

| "Thank you so much!" She said, taking the paper. |
| "No problem. I really do hope they can help you." Kenta said scratching the back of his head and sighing. |

| "Thanks, that means a lot." Maggie replied, smiling. "See you around!" |
| Kenta nodded. "Later." He said to her, still wearing a blank face and carrying a cigarette in his mouth. |

| She waved and headed down the street. |
| "Nice girl. Hope she can help her husband." Kenta said to himself, blowing out a puff of smoke. |

| Maggie looked down at the paper, and followed the directions to the address. |
| At the address, there was a small house. It could be observed by the looks of it that it belonged to one of the less wealthy people in this town. However, nothing seemed out of the ordinary about the house. |
|
| "Hm, well this is it." Said Maggie. She came up to the front steps and knocked on the door. |
| There was movement heard behind the door before it was opened revealing a tall, decently build man with blond hair that reached just past his eyes. He appeared to be in his mid-twenties, had a cigarette in his mouth, and appeared to be wearing something you'd see a bartender at a high class bar wear. He looked at Maggie, with a slight scowl. "Somethin' you need girly?" He asked her. |

| "I was referred here by a...friend, Kenta. You see there's something he said you could help me with." |
| "You mean the guy carrying around that shot gun? And what is it you think I can help you with?" The man asked blankly. |
