| The Revolutionary Girl Utena movie is the only movie with lesbians I know of, but it's not a straightforward romance or anything. If you want lesbians, though, there are plenty of otherwise short OVAs or series that you could try, Candy Boy being the shortest. For good heterosexually romantic movies, my suggestions are 5cm per second, Ocean Waves, Whisper of the Heart, and La Maison en Petits Cubes(a short rather than a movie). |

THere are only 29 shoujo ai anime vs. 255 manga, so choices are limited if you stick with anime. That having been said, there are some good ones. Maria-sama ga Miteru is your best bet if you want a pure romance with a side of drama. If you don't mind some action mixed in, then there's also Noir and Mai-HiME. Mai-HiME is darker than it looks. Edit: forgot about these: Mnemosyne- Rin + Mimi Kurau-sort of, it's more of some weird alien clone romancesque-thing Kurau + Christmas Devilman Lady- Jun + Kazumi Serial Experiments Lain- Lain + Arisu |

| For anime series, seconding Marimite, and adding Simoun and Revolutionary Girl Utena(TV). Utena isn't as lesbian as I expected it to be, but it's there. |
| Seconding REvolutionary Girl Utena : Adolescence Apocalypse uhm... I recommend Love My Life movie. although it is a live action but a good and simple lesbian romance story based on Yamaji Ebine's manga of the same name. for yuri romance ovas Shoujo sect Sononi Hanabira Kuchizuke wo: Anata to Koibito Tsunagi (which is currently airing) if you have more time for a serial anime I'm recommending Strawberry Panic |
