He was born in the slums, and his dirt-poor background has denied him almost every opportunity. After an encounter with a healer, he throws himself into studying to become one and finally catches a break when an adventurer invites Zenos into his party. Zenos is thrilled—so thrilled, in fact, that he's willing to put up with his teammates treating him like garbage. They fail to appreciate his talents and ultimately kick him to the curb, claiming he's outlived his usefulness to them. Now bereft of money and out of options, Zenos decides to put his self-taught skills to use elsewhere and opens an underground clinic. Word quickly spreads about the brilliant healer working incredible magic in the city's shadowy underbelly. Even the royal palace is taking notice... Can Zenos buck the odds and carve out a life for himself in a world that's spit in his face? And can he save the lives of the patients who wind up on his doorstep in the process? | Episode 1 And so it begins with Zenos starting another day with his dedicated group of lovely ladies helping out at his underground clinic, and Zenos helps out Til, a slave who was badly abused by her owner, some snobby noble who treats her as a plaything or worse. After seeing just how much Til is in pain and how little money she has, Zenos decides to help her out while fighting that snob, injuring him to the point where he needs immediate treatment, which he can offer for an exorbitant price that he gives to those he despises seeing that he is an underground healer. As for the price, he takes Til off his hands, which allows him to give her proper treatment, and then she's freed. And thus, the first episode gives us a look into what a typical day is for Zenos, to heal those who are priced out or don't have any access to healthcare, whereas Zenos will offer universal healthcare provided that the patient isn't on his bad side. This episode pretty much tells what to expect out of this show and I think that the proper background explanation will come next time seeing that it drops us into the middle of something seeing that all that is known about Zenos is that he's an unlicensed quack, but this quack is better than most doctors out there and doesn't run his clinic like how United Health Care does. |

@paulchaested Kicked out and/or "the guy you thought was really weak is really strong" between that and I became the villainess, 90% of isekai/fantasy are that now.

The first half of this was just straight harem introductions. Usually the harem gets introduced 1 per episode but this just squeezed them all in to 10 minutes. The first and second half could have been two different shows.

Another Gentleman Edgelord protagonist made for male viewers to imagine themselves to be. And this time, it's a hardcore furry. I dropped Shield Hero because of that- and that had Raphtalia- so, I can surely drop this easy. One bad Edgelord-filled episode and I'll drop. runec said: Exactly. I was actually wondering during the first what the MC point was xD That went CGDCT for more than half the show. The first and second half could have been two different shows.

Jebus Cripes that was a boring first episode. Harem shenanigans aren't fun if we don't know the characters. Also, at least he freed the slave girl in the end. I was worried that they were going go the whole "I'm fixing slavery by participating in it, but just being nice" angle that so many of these stupid stories take.

Well, that's strange. I thought for sure I'd like at least one of the characters. Nothing motivates me to keep watching. I might check back in later to see if anything interesting is happening, but it looks like a dull story with dumb characters and no redeeming features to me.

I was going to say well at least he isn't some worthless class kicked out of his party...but I guess he is. Someday I'd like to see an anime titled The party with an excellent vetting process so they don't accidentally kick out useful party members LOL Anyway interesting mix of girls (and fashion...jeans and rags?) So he's the Robin Hood of healers now? So if pink fox girl didn't have a gall stone he would have ignored her? Not sure what his method is for choosing "patients". And all his patients join his harem apparently, wonder how ghost girl fits in? I liked her best, she at least she had the best fashion sense. Hopefully next time he heals someone they can repay him by fixing his house, place looks like it is falling apart. Art is at least decent too, guess I'll stick around for a few more episodes at least.

The guys who write the source material for these healer based shows must frequently play MMOs. Healers are always abused in parties even when it's not their fault. Seems healer characters are super popular in Japan.

Episode 2 And now, Zenos gets his background explained after the first episode was pretty much a sign of what's to come. Zenos was kicked out of his party as a healer, then decides to use his self-taught skills to open up a clinic after saving Lily from a slave trader after she was left to die using his severance pay to buy her, and from there they would become partners in the clinic. His name would quickly spread around after saving Zonde from a life-threatening gunshot wound, and his sister Zophia from an even nastier one that requires amputation, and instead of money, Zophia would work for Zenos. They met the wraith Carmilla as they took over the first floor of the house she haunts to set up shop. Then Lynga comes in after hearing about Zenos and tries to kill her, but Zenos wasn't going down like that. Quite a lot of stuff was explained here going to show that Zenos has built quite the reputation already.

Yeah that should have been the first episode. I really want to see a show where a party of decent people kick someone out because the person really is weak and they're genuinely worried about their safety. Or the person really was a burden and they were being nice by keeping them around, but they have to cut them loose for some reason. "Kicked Out Of The Party For Thinking He's Strong But Really He's The Weakest." Or something like that.

The pointless bickering of his already established harem make for a really annoying intro. Then he tells a noble that he's an unlicensed healer? Is that really wise... Ugh episode 2 had no business being swapped with episode 1. It's not quirky and smart. If your future story/characters needs to be spoiled to hook people, you're a bad writer.

Episode 3 And now, an episode that explains how a turf war between the werewolves, orcs, and lizardmen ended thanks to Zenos as Zenos didn't take sides, and he would heal anybody who got hurt from this conflict, which would only rack up the medical bills that these slumdogs couldn't afford. So they called a truce, and everybody now gets along. This would be all well and good, except that the guys at the top rely on this chaos at the bottom to protect their status as now they are worried that the slumdogs would rally together against the royals. So the commander of the knights sends Krishna to the slums to round up Zenos. It will be interesting to see what her deal is as while Krishna is serious about her job, there's something that motivates her to doing all this.

I like it, all the gangs are dumb, and he's clueless but the show still isn't predictable. Had no idea what he was going to do at the gang war, speaking of which there needs to be more hot females in the gangs, these 3 can't be the only women. We'll see how dumb this knight is, getting lost can't be the end of it.

Episode 4 Zenos wasn't affected, while Krishna jumped to conclusions that he's a trafficker, but hasn't figured out that Zenos is the mediator she's looking for. This issue is quite personal for Krishna as her mother helped people out in the slums but was murdered for it. And just when it looked like he was in the clear until they meet again at night, Krishna comes back to the clinic and sees Zophia getting all cozy with him, and Zenos finally spills the beans. Krishna was looking to return, but with her bad sense of direction that she ends up at Caldenor's mansion instead, and after investigating his mansion, sees that he has kidnapped children and is keeping them prisoners. But just when she got cornered by the nobleman, Zenos comes to the rescue and heals her arm, and then frees the kids. Krishna's sense of justice was messed up there, but she needs to understand that she can make it work by carrying on with her mother's kindness as she has become a hero to these kids.

So magic guns have a limiter setting that just blows away clothes? Set phasers to strip? It's a good thing he didn't put any of that heavy security around the one place he was actually trying to hide the kids then decided to go after her himself instead of taking any guards with him.

That was...odd...everything was so choppily animated it made it difficult to tell what was going on. She barely let out a yelp and they didn't show anything when she got hit, plus the shot in her back did so little damage (with the same gun) when they showed her missing her arm and a hole in her side it was like WTH? O_o Also her finding the well was weird. One second she is walking with him and noting the heavy security the next she is alone and no one is guarding the well entrance...huh? And yeah him shooting the guy but it only blowing off his clothes yet fly into the wall...this show can't decide whether to be cartoony or serious. I hope this isn't a preview of how things are going to be from here on out -_- One last thing Lily sitting in that position on a guys lap after just trying to convince her Zenos isn't a kidnapper of children and calling it her "usual position"...how did she not shoot him right there and then?

@zkeleton I can certainly agree with that. Here's somebody who has an honestly misguided sense of justice and didn't see things objectively that being with Zenos would get people to do. Now that she's quite aware that she's around corrupt people at the top that it will be interesting to see what she will do next as she sees her mother in Zenos.

Episode 5 And here's yet another party that has fallen into dysfunction after banishing the perceived useless member, and Aston wants to drag Zenos back to his party. Just like with all other such creeps, there are no takebacks. They caused a ruckus in the slums, and it's a good thing Krishna just so happened to get lost to tell Aston to buzz off. And then a golem attacks the slums, so I wonder how Zenos will approach this crisis seeing that he is just there to heal.

So he had that stupid coat even as a kid? So his former party is so profoundly stupid they never noticed their wounds miraculously healing all the time? They never wondered why their clothes and armour get slashed up yet they never have a scratch? How convenient that we were just randomly talking about a golem before a golem randomly appeared.

Wow, his old party is totally at a loss without him. Who saw that coming? Didn't he say the leader of his old party used to send him into dungeons by himself? Somehow they were so colossally dumb that when he came back out without a scratch on him it never occurred to them that he might have some useful skills after all? Why did they even feel the need to preview the golem anyway? It sounds like no one has seen one in a few hundred years anyway so having what's her name explain it to them after it showed up wouldn't have been an issue.

Aw geez, so we're going to have one of these guys again, well hopefully they handle him better than Simon. It was pretty funny that everyone just dismissed him as a dumbass compared to the other shows where they still feel like they owe him something. But of course he still has to show them after being humiliated and went to the under-underground with the really bad guys LOL. Kinda wish he could heal Carmilla back to life she's fun, but geez that scene what happened to her face? It was like that episode of Seinfeld where his girlfreind was pretty in normal lighting but became hideous in poor lighting.

Episode 6 It turns out that Aston was behind that golem, or more specifically he was being used to power up that monstrosity and it was the one known only as Guide who controlled it. But despite the rampage it carried out, Zenos and his buddies saved everybody as while there was quite a lot of damage to the town nobody was killed. And then Zenos puts Aston in his place as he destroys the gem that's powering the golem, and then humiliates him making him wish he was dead. But of course since it's his duty to heal that Zenos wasn't just going to let him off the hook to the afterlife. That ought to teach that fool an expensive lesson as after all that, he ends up getting arrested by Krishna.

It did have the air of finality about it didn't it? They could probably just end the show there. Nothing of value would be lost. He really isn't in the shadows per say. He's actually pretty open and out there. He isn't making any attempt to hide his powers at this point and no one seems to care anyway.
