![]() https://myanimelist.net/anime/58445/Sayounara_Ryuusei_Konnichiwa_Jinsei Plot Summary Long ago, a human managed to defeat the oldest, most powerful dragon of them all. This dragon was so strong that even the gods feared it, but it accepted its end all alone. Then, suddenly, the dragon woke up in a new life as a guy named Dolan, living in a faraway village. Living as a regular person now, Dolan works hard in the fields and hunts for food. Even though life in the village is simple, it's also cozy and makes him happy in ways he never felt as a dragon. But one day, while exploring a swamp, Dolan meets Celina, a creature who's part human and part snake called a lamia. She's looking for a partner but admits she's not great at getting humans to like her because she's part snake. Despite their differences, Dolan and Cerina start to become friends. However, they face lots of challenges from outside forces. Join them on a magical adventure as a once-mighty dragon begins a new life in a quiet corner of the world! That seemed like the first AND last episode. +1 for snake girl though. |

Episode 1 And thus, it begins with a dragon being defeated by a hero as he lived way too long and was suffering. But instead of being taken to hell or wherever the afterlife is, he's reincarnated as Dolan the villager, and decides to live a quiet life seeing that he's never experienced joy like this while as a dragon. And then comes a lamia in Celina who he stumbles upon, and his quiet life has suddenly been disturbed, though having her as a soulmate might not be such a bad idea seeing that she's part-snake, and Dolan was at least a reptile in his previous life. Sounds like it could be a fun show, if nothing else, but it's yet another one of those run-of-the-mill fantasy shows. |

Its an interesting, different take on the reincarnation genre. I wasn't blown away but I am interested. Think I will watch this one through. |

Wasn't bad but it sure felt like they paced it slow. Especially if you watch it right after Dan Da Dan. |

I have a hard time getting interested in this one. The environment is pretty dreary, and the characters aren't working well for me so far. I'm going to need the show to give me something a bit better if I'm going to continue with it. |

I was waiting for him to do something that would accidentally be a marriage proposal in lamia culture. The story didn't take the easy way out, but I wonder how it's going to throw them back together again. Maybe the energy jolt he gave her inadvertently made her pregnant or something. |

Full Japanese title: "Goodbye dragon life, Hello (human) life" Jinsei normally just means life in general for humans, but is written as 'person-life'. Contrasted with made up word "dragon life", the 'person' part stands out more. |

Episode 2 Dolan is learning medicine seeing that it was not really necessary when he was a dragon. Celina's appearance has put the village on guard, but Dolan has a plan to have this lamia welcomed into the village. The plan goes awry when another monster attacks, an armored bear, but Celina comes in to the rescue by protecting Tauro and then scaring away the bear. After proving that she's a kind lamia contrary to popular belief, she's allowed to live in the village as she requested. Pretty much, this episode is all about getting Celina in the door seeing that she's not like the other lamias. |

OK about 2 episodes per harem member so we have time for 5 more girls. Guess cow-lady never heard the saying "why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free". Uhm no sorry mam I couldn't possibly make you do the work of pumping the milk and then just taking it, at least let me pump my own cup. :) That has to be the most awkward demi human situation, so is she milking herself? Do her kids or husband help? Yikes. Give her the seiki already Dolan, she's asking for it ;) Let me tell you all about how lamia work. OK 'so what's going on down "there"? Is there one or 2 openings? Is that accessible from the front or back...or both?' |

This show's kinda slow-paced and there's not much depth to the writing so far, but it seems sweet and harmless. I wonder what the 18+ rating is for? |

It's just meh so far. So can they just use magic to build houses super fast or did they have an empty one sitting around? They made it sound like they prepared it just for her so I thought she must have been there a while at that point. Guess I was wrong though otherwise her and Dolan pretending to only just now learn each others name would make no sense. marklebid said: So I guess he really could have inadvertently gotten her pregnant.'Seiki' 生気 is life spirit/essence 'Seiki' 性器 is genitalia generally 'Seieki' 精液 is semen |

Episode 3 Here comes Christina, a knight who is visiting Verun village. She finds this place quite welcoming despite the fact that a lamia is living among them. And she becomes quick friends with Celina. Even though everybody is getting along quite well with the lamia, there are still some doubters out there who are looking to take action sooner rather than later. The high mage Keiren orders Gouda to have Celina brought over, and Dolan accompanies her despite having the goddess Myrale's blessing. Christina is quite a nice addition to the village there, but even so not everybody is convinced about Celina even though the goddess says there's nothing to fear about this lamia. |

Okay, it was weird before but now that the author has added little girl milk this is clearly a thinly disguised fetish. What sort of industrial milking operation does that woman have to supply that much milk? |

@runec Seriously wtf? I couldn't even pay attention to the rest of the show, that was just f'n weird. A real cow couldn't produce that much milk in a day (how many gallons of water is she drinking? And how much time does she spend milking?). Also the author does know, women, cows, all mammals can only produce milk after having a child or getting pregnant at least once right? So who knocked up little cow girl? Yikes. Sword girl was weird too so was the whole lamia inquisition thing, and weird city people. Also you ever see someone try the milk challenge? It involves a lot of projectile vomiting. I also once watched a show about east African herdsman who have contests to see who can drink the most milk, the "winner" died after his stomach exploded. |

Perhaps we're simply the dirty minded ones, and they were simply talking about 'her' milk being the first cow she milked on her own from the absolutely massive herd they must be keeping behind the house ... |

Well, they sure managed to cram a lot of stuff into that one episode. This rivals the one where that beast lady was selling her eggs. bleah The lamia inquisition thing at least feels like an actual story arc. Makes me wonder just how common problems with lamia are if they have a specific group of soldiers just to deal with them. |

Episode 4 As it turns out, Keiren ordered the lamia girl to be taken in because she wanted to dissect her and use her parts to extend her own life and look beautiful, and in doing so she murdered a lot of beastmen in Galoa. But Dolan was right on top of things as he had the presence of mind to bring a sound-transmitting item so that everybody hears it from Keiren herself that she's behind all the people disappearing in Galoa, and then Dolan uses his powers carried over from his previous life as the elder dragon to put Keiren in her place. After that, it's back to Verun, but Denzel is offering him the opportunity to study at the academy, something that Christina suggests he does. So with that, the opening act is completed and Celina is now a citizen of Verun, but now dangers await with a horde of ants being transported into the nearby woods. |

Well, that was certainly a monster design. First she went all Akira then she turned into some sort of horrifying crotch monster. Crotch tentacles wasn't on my bingo card for this show. |

Episode 5 The demon generals have invaded the elf village nearby. While Dolan and company get back to their lives in the village, they are now dealing with another threat close to home and Dolan decides to help out with Christina and Celina helping him out. There, they defeat a bunch of those giant ants, but Dolan needed to use his dragon power to do so. And then they find a fairy Merl, who warns them about the demon generals. This is pretty much transition into a big conflict that's coming given the way the previous episode ended. |

The monster design in this show is lacking. Are the ants made out of metal? They don't have any blood but for some reason they do have saliva? |

What an absolute bargain basement dollar store assortment of villains. I assume they will be quickly dispatched and forgotten. I like that it's now clear he could just turn back into a dragon whenever he wanted to he just doesn't wanna. So its not Goodbye, Dragon Life so much as Take A Vacation From Dragon Life. |

Huh what an interesting villain, for those that don't know Rafflesia is the largest flower in the world and is interesting in a couple ways, it is parasitic on a vine, so it doesn't have leaves, and uses flys to pollinate it by smelling like rotting flesh. I'll give the character designer credit for even attempting to make a character based on it. They had her flip up in the air a few times so you could see that the bottom of her dress looks just like the flower when viewed from underneath. Seems like the perfect foil to a character based on a rose (though odd it's a black rose). |

Episode 7 Dolan really showed what he is made of, albeit not at his full dragon power. So with the way the battle transpired, Georg decides to retreat and give the elf village the choice to either join them or fight them, and for Dolan, Georg wants to see him battle to the fullest. At the very least, they bought some time to prepare, but in three days they will be back and will be even more merciless. |

It occurs to me that the author had a golden opportunity to call this Goodbye, Dragon Life. Hello, Snake Wife. I assume there was some sort of storyboard fuck up or something. The Big Bad came through the portal with half his face blown off but then his face is totally fine by the time he reaches the village. I'm going to guess that the horrible face wound is actually inflicted by Dolan when next they fight but they used the wrong design before they fought. Well, calling this a "fight" is kind of a stretch I'll admit. I don't mind him getting into a fight that eventually reveals his Dragon Power(tm) but this was a half assed attempt at shoehorning in that "fight". |

Episode 8 Dolan and gang got a chance to regroup after seeing just how dangerous the demon generals are, and pretty much they spend it bonding with each other. Dolan heals that nasty wound that Deirdre suffered in her battle with Raflasia with his dragon powers. And then there's Olivia, who has returned to the forest, and she's quite a big help in getting everybody organized. And then the night before the battle comes as Dolan reminds Celina that she's not like the other lamias. So after an episode to prepare for the battle, it's on. |

Well except rose lady she was crying over the flowers that were killed when she used them to fight the bad guys and got destroyed, who has the biggest mammaries of the bunch because milk is great for plant growth. |

Episode 9 After getting a chance to regroup, it's back to the battlefield to settle things once and for all. Diadra is up against Raflasia just like last time, Christina battles Geolude, with Celina, Gio, and Fio fighting Geren, while Dolan uses his dragon wings to oversee the battle and step in where help is needed, and then fight their leader Georg. Diadra made quick work of Raflasia as she planted the seeds of her doom in the previous battle, she was just waiting until the right moment for it to sprout, and with that the black rose twigs sprout out to crush her. And then Christina realizes just what a hero is supposed to do that allows her to kick her powers up a notch to slice and dice Geolude away. And then Dolan and Georg have their long-awaited fight as it turns out Georg's master was the one who defeated Dolan when he was a dragon. It's all action here as thanks to everybody figuring out their strengths that they quickly turned the tables against the demon generals. |
