Betrayed by her betrothed, she is framed as a traitor and imprisoned. In her last moments, Jill is filled with regret, but just as death approaches, she awakens six years in the past. This time, she will not be a mere pawn. Now as a 10-year-old girl, Jill resolves to escape her imminent engagement to the prince. To this end, she jokingly professes her love to the 19-year-old dragon emperor Hades Theos Rave, who will one day stain the land in blood due to madness. But against all expectations, he accepts! In contrast to the tyrant from Jill's memories, the Hades of this time is a kind albeit unfortunate emperor. Can Jill prevent Hades from descending down the same dark, villainous road, or is he bound to an inevitable future? Episode 1 Just like with 7th Time Loop, the MC gets killed, goes back in time, and decides to get married to a would-be enemy in order to avoid dying again. Jill got engaged with Gerald, but it turns out Gerald was cheating on her and to cover up her incestual relationship with his sister that Jill found out about, he silenced her by orchestrating her execution. So six years into the past she goes, and she decides to fall in love with Hadis instead, who is a surprisingly kind guy as this was before he went down the path of darkness. While Jill managed to escape Gerald, now she must work to make things work with Hadis seeing that keep him from going down the path of darkness. An interesting relationship is brewing, and to think that Gerald would reject this cute girl in favor of an incestual relationship makes him such a horrible guy. Seeing that this is by the same lady who did I'm the Villainess, So I'm Taming the Final Boss that I certainly can see how this show came to be with the MC falling in love with the enemy, all while the supposed good guys are actually the bane of her existence. But it's more like a combination of 7th Time Loop and Tearmoon Empire with the time travel, falling in love with the enemy, and trying to become a good citizen knowing what she needs to avoid doing to live through it all. While the future segments feel more serious in tone, things are rather lighthearted where things stand. Anyway, while I have seen this kind of show time and again, Jill's relationship with Hadis is a cute one and he even has a cute dragon buddy. |

Kratos? Goddess of the Land? As the "getting to start over from the beginning" trope goes, you don't often see one where the girl was never in the wrong to begin with. It's usually that they were evil, or they just sat back in luxury and comfort as their kingdom fell down around them. |

A pretty good start. Going to have to see where they go next. She may have the mind of a sixteen year old, but as far as everyone around her is concerned she's only ten. Romance with a fifteen year old has the potential for some dangerous landmines though they're clearly trying to set him up as the naive one of the pair. For the ruler of a land that's supposedly short on magic Rave seems quite powerful. |

@marklebid This show has such a promising start. And I really like Jill. I hope it doesn't get destroyed by becoming too creepy. (Apologies. The MAL forums hiccupped causing multiple copies of my post.) |

Episode 2 Here comes Sphere, who is bad news from the original timeline seeing that she's the one who kills other fiances before killing herself, and it's easy to see why Hadis went down the destructive path he did as that's because his family is cursed with all the crown princes ahead of him mysteriously dying. As for why Sphere became that psychopath, that's largely because of her father and the clergy as they tell her some things that aren't exactly what a girl her age should be hearing as Sphere's birth mother passed away while she was an infant, and would marry a wife that didn't exactly lover her back. Sphere ends up being able to see a dragon that nobody else can see, though she can't see Rave as only Jill can. Sphere was about to be tossed aside, but Hadis came to his defense. She confessed, but Hadis turned her down and is jealous that she was turned down only for Hadis to become married to somebody even younger than her. So Jill, disguised as a boy to gather intel, was thrown into the cellar with Sphere after getting captured by Kratos soldiers, and that's where she hears her story. And then the two Kratos soldiers who would become her personal protectors in Zeke and Camila are thrown in the cellar as well. Pretty interesting backstories there, and it's no wonder why things turned tragic the first time around in that the royal family is cursed, all while Sphere's father is corrupt as hell. Jill has her work cut out, but now she understands the source of their problems that would turn them into those monstrosities. |

She's strong enough to pick up a ship and throw it several miles...how was she ever captured to begin with? boldulysses said: Is this worth picking up? A lolicon angle would be a hard turn-off It's kind of fun so far. There seem to be some hints that the lolicon thing is just a ruse or something...but then again, even as a ruse, it could just be an excuse. But then, then again...it was written by a woman. It's the same author as "I'm the Villainess, So I'm Taming the Final Boss" |

Well I guess child brides are one taboo Anime hasn't explored enough 9_9 Looks like they covered all their bases though, he can't physically or magically or mentally overpower or coerce her. He just wants a marriage "in name only" so nothing physical, she actually has the mind of someone older. OK now we can proceed. LOL Why did I forget she was basically a superhero from ep 1? Was that not explored or did I just forget? Weird, it's not like I wasn't paying attention. Anyway It's surprisingly watchable so I guess I'll stick around. |

@MenchiK1 She was called like the daughter of the god of war and led armies and stuff. Though she seemed weaker when we saw her get speared. The Emperor said they'd be fine for another 3 years or so, I'm guessing part of his curse is like, "You have to get married, but your wife will die when she turns X years old on her birthday." Or maybe that *he* would die, and marrying someone older would be instant death. Just to explain away the creepiness by the season finale. |

I've become more invested in this series than I was expecting thanks to Jill. (Still on the fence about Hadis.) I'm all for some political intrigue though I wonder if this bit with the Marquis will be resolved by the end of the next episode. (Doubt he's the series "big bad".) That section of the OP where glasses guy is dancing is hilarious! I'll be watching the OP just for that. marklebid said: Though she seemed weaker when we saw her get speared. She said the spear seemed to be moving on its own. I wonder if that will be a plot point later or was it just a throwaway to explain how she dies. |

Yeah this is turning out be pretty good. It does a good job of being silly while still being able to have serious moments. The prince drowning while washing his face in a basin was a pretty funny one, and the way it was presented shows this director understands how to do comedy--unlike whoever directed that Parry show last season. marklebid said: He did claim that it wasn't him. OK I watched the first ep. Interesting tone that kind of reminds me of Zero No Tsukaima (though with a completely different plot). Animation is solid, pacing is nice and brisk, the main guy even uses The Voice (Dune reference @auroraloose) but... ...the guy is a straight-up lolicon. Even though she's creeped out by it, he said he would have preferred her 2-3 years younger (!!) and borderline manipulates her into reinstating her proposal rather than simply asking her why she did what she did. I want to give this a few more eps. to redeem itself, and because it's kind of entertaining, but I'm just not sure how it comes back barring a major timeskip so their 9 (?) year age difference isn't such a big deal anymore. But it looks like it's going to camp out in the "young Jill" period for a good while. It feels Koikimo-ish, and I'm sure as hell not putting myself through that again. |

I just checked my history and apparently I watched Koikimo all the way through, but I'll be damned if I can remember a thing about it. Not a good sign. (beat: for online research) Oh, that one. I actually didn't mind it except that it took twelve episodes to do what they probably could have done in three. I'm thinking Marklebid may be right about why he wants a young wife. Hell, at my age I've already decided against adopting any kittens or puppies. (Just lost our old dog; so I've been musing on this. Might consider a middle-aged rescue of either species, but I'd hate to have my pet outlive me and have to spend its final days in a shelter.) |

@boldulysses Should I watch this? I don't really know what to think of this season. I started You Are Ms. Servant. and think it manages to hit some good notes with the absurdity sometimes, but I expect I'll tire of its obviousness; so far I don't mind 365 Days to the Wedding; and I like how the main girl talks casually in Dan Da Dan, but the sexual overtones are somewhat grating. I'd watch Uzumaki but don't feel like paying for a subscription, and it sounds like the four-episode thing is making it unfortunately truncated. Also, you're the second person I've encountered to bring up Joe Versus the Volcano recently; guess I should watch it. |

I would recommend Amagami Sisters, the trashy harem of the season, but 1) it doesn't lean into a potential faith-vs-science angle nearly as thoroughly as it should, and worse, 2) it commits the cardinal sin of an otherwise-enjoyable trashy anime: It's boring. And somehow scheduled for 24 episodes... I'm going to give Blue Box a whirl in the next day or so; that may be of interest. Also, you're the second person I've encountered to bring up Joe Versus the Volcano recently; guess I should watch it. I had to think for a second, and then I remembered my sig, lol. I think I might be out, guys. It's just not grabbing me, and the surge in pace and sudden intrigue + kidnapping made me feel like they compressed 3-4 chapters of the LN into about 10 minutes of anime runtime. Episode 3 After hearing things from Sphere's side, and then from her would-be bodyguards in Zeke and Camila as well as Gard, Jill pieces the information and it becomes pretty obvious that the marquess is behind this plot, and these "Kratos" soldiers are actually Marquess Beil's military men disguised as Kratos soldiers in order to frame Jill as a spy, as well as make it look like the northern forces aren't doing their jobs. But Jill uses the fact that Marquess Beil doesn't know where she really is to her advantage, as well as her superhuman strength from her magical powers to break the handcuffs, and then take out the soldiers. The marquess gets quite desperate there as he even went as far as to bring in a dragon to wreck the place, but Hadis shows up and no dragon dares attack the Dragon Emperor. Sphere's father is such a terrible person and it's because of him that she was about to get corrupted to the point where she went on that murder-suicide rampage, but Jill is here to make sure everybody knows who her father rally is, all while letting her know that Jill's marriage is just in name only and that her only purpose is to make him happy. That was great to see just what Jill can do with her power as she's freakishly strong and that ought to make other think twice before getting between her and Hadis. |

So long as the story stays focused on Jill it's quite good. In fact this episode gave me some Tanya the Evil vibes. It would really help if it was explained why Hadis needs a child bride. It's been implied there's more to it than he being a lolicon. Hopefully that isn't a mystery that is held onto for long. |

Me too! I only wish it was that good. But it's better than I expected. Mostly. The Emperor mentioned that he had a heart condition. Is that going to be why he needs a young bride? Or maybe it's just metaphor. |

Yeah don't bring a dragon to a fight with a dragon emperor. I am enjoying it so far but with her strength and smarts it's making it difficult to see how she lost in the first place. Especially to siscon glasses guy, and is it me or was his sister shown in silouette in OP sitting in a wheelchair? Ugh the guy gets creepier and creepier. Also I gueas now we will have to have her blonde "rival" around every episode being jealous and causing problems. |

Episode 4 With Hadis appearing and reminding everybody that he's the emperor, Hugo accuses the marquess, meaning Sphere doesn't have to anymore. Now that Hadis knows who was behidn everything he's taken away and thrown in the slammer, though he did think about executing him right there and then. After a hectic first day in the empire, Jill goes to bed and as the emperor's wife, she sleeps in the same bed as Hadis. The next day, Zeke and Camila are now her personal protectors, just like in the original timeline albeit protecting her as a Rave citizen rather than a princess of Kratos. But just when it looked like she has gotten away from that would-be incestual two-timer, Gerald hasn't given up on Jill even though she rejected him as he's coming to Rave to take her back by force. It's just one thing after another for Jill, and while her knowledge of events from having lived it previously is guiding her, she's dealing with some unexpected consequences of her actions. |
