Loner Life in Another World Discussion

This seems like it is going to be more on the light hearted than edge-lord spectrum, which is a better choice IMO, but that first episode was pretty boring.

This isn't like his classmates rejecting him...he rejects them instead.

Also, those goblins were just minding their own business and he goes in there and beats the shit out of them. Maybe the goblins in this world are completely innocuous.

So the previous ep we had fish girl, now we get juice girl. And she's a bit freaky.

Maybe you shouldn't have taken your cloak off just after getting out of the inn....it always irks me when someone tears off their disguise when they are not 100% in the clear.

The entire "outsiders can't leave the village unless they are adventurers" rule doesn't make much sense....if they were outsiders, then they obviously were already outside the village. So basically you imprison everyone in the village after they get there?

He said something about his loner skill not letting him join a party. So maybe all the others have been leveling up faster from sharing xp or something while he only gets xp from what he defeats. Idk, they haven't totally explained why the others all level up so much faster than him, or if they did I forgot. Maybe it has something to do with one of his weird skills slowing down his leveling or something.

@zkeleton I remember the loner thing. Shared xp bonus must be pretty high. You would think it would be pretty diluted by how many girls there are.

It's weird since he seems to have a lot of combat ability despite his level.

@runec I'm guessing the way it works is that the skills go up in level separately from their overall level. So skill levels go up only when you use them and overall levels going up affects you ability scores--str, dex. etc.--but not your skill levels. So he's strong because his skill levels are high even though his overall level is low. That would explain why the girls' skills were weak even though they were/are much higher than his level.

This next part I'm less sure about. It's possible that all the other students counted as one big party before they splintered into different groups. So maybe when the delinquents or the nerds went out and killed monsters the girls got xp and raised their overall level even though were back at camp. It would explain how all the other students were higher level because it allowed them to go out and fight in shifts so the entire group could be gaining xp pretty much round the clock. That would also explain why the girls combat skills were so low since they stayed at camp and hadn't used them at all.

EDIT: Went back and re-watched some and I don't think the xp sharing thing is what happened. It seems more likely that one of his skills--maybe "master of none"--is giving him some kind of trade off where his skills go up faster, and allows him to combine their effects, but his overall level goes up a lot slower. He did just say he doesn't have a "job" like all the rest of them do and I'm thinking that whatever makes it so he can't have a specific job slows down his level advancement. So it's not that the others went up extra fast, he's just going up extra slow.

So he killed him? Yikes. Felt like a series finale, wonder where this goes now. All the villains are dead.

Getting tired of this naggy wench trying to control him. What was he doing? Oh i don't know, maybe trying to stop you being murdered? Where's your gratitude. Are we actually meant to hate everyone besides the MC because it's working. You killed all those orcs that were going to destroy town? Let me nag you to never do it again. Jeez, if this is my reward i'll just let you all die next time.
