![]() https://myanimelist.net/anime/55265/Tensei_Kizoku_Kantei_Skill_de_Nariagaru Plot Summary An ordinary salaryman dies one day and is reborn as Ars Louvent, the son of a noble. Although he isn't talented in magic or swordplay, he does have one skill that no one else possesses: Appraisal. Using this ability, Ars can determine a person's current strength, how much potential they hold, and where their talents rest. This skill is especially useful in the present situation of the country. The government is corrupt, revolts occur more often than not, and nobles far and wide are strengthening their fortifications in preparation for an all-out war. With this in mind, Ars realizes he too must prepare by gathering talented people. A persecuted foreigner unparalleled with the sword, a slave with an unknown talent for magic, and a timid boy with an unquenchable thirst for knowledge—such talents lend Ars their support as he aims to create the most powerful territory. Another reincarnation shota. At least he doesn't have lovingly rendered shota thighs. Not much to write home about but it's watchable. |

@runec Is this another one that Crunchyroll jumped the gun on? MAL is usually pretty good about noting on a show's home page if it aired early on a specific platform, but I am seeing starting April 7 |

Episode 1 And thus, it begins with the MC, a former salaryman from Japan who loves playing video games, collapsing and dying, isekaied as the son of a reputable noble in the Summerforth Empire with the ability to sense talents in others. He first finds out that a soldier struggling with the spear is better suited to be an archer, and then he finds a Malkan teen whose talent is off the charts, but given the extreme prejudice against Malkans that he has to convince others that Rietz is worthy of being his retainer. Rietz manages to show off his skill against Raven, who is the top soldier in this land, and Rietz now serves Ars in a job much better suited for him than being a slave. This place sure is corrupt, but Ars is going to change all that. While it's yet another generic isekai featuring the MC with a god-given power, at least it's watchable unlike some other fantasy shows this season like 7th Prince. |

This one seems like it took some inspiration from Mushoku Tensei...between the reincarnated kid who is determined to learn as much as possible in the new world, to the maybe more mature looking (than Roxy) blue haired wizard girl |

Episode 2 Now with Rietz under his command, Ars begins his quest to reform the empire, and the first step to that is to recruit an enslaved orphan who Ars sees has the potential to become a master mage. But there's just one problem in that Charlotte can't leave her little brothers and sisters behind. So after she steals from Ars, Ars allows her to keep it, but then the situation changes when Charlotte is kidnapped again. This goes to show just how rotten this place is, but Ars has the skill to change that, starting with making sure the guys with the greatest potential are doing what they were born to do rather than becoming slaves and tools for those snobby nobles. |

I don't even really have much to say about this. It is certainly a show that exists but it hasn't done anything good or particularly bad so far. The story certainly isn't worth talking about so far. |

Episode 3 Rietz absolutely wiped the floor with Albert's mercenaries, and Rietz shows off his negotiation skills there, backing Albert into a corner where he had no choice but to sell Charlotte seeing that if he refused, he would have likely lost her for nothing. And then Charlotte proves that she's that S-ranked mage that Ars appraised as her magic was totally explosive. So seeing a better opportunity that she leaves her family to serve Ars as a mage. Getting Charlotte was going to be a much tougher deal, but he found a way. |

Dad changed his tune pretty quick. So they are just leaving the 4 kids on the street? You couldn't have rented them a room or something? Hire them a caretaker? Built an orphanage? You are rich right? |

@HOOfan_1 He didn't even bother to appraise the kids. One of them could have been an S ranked maid or something. |

This show's trying to have these profound moments that it hasn't earned so I skipped over most of that part. Yeah they left a lot of questions about those kids unanswered. How could that overlook be a secret place when everyone in town can look up and see it right there? So from the preview there must be a time skip or something because all of a sudden Charlotte has huge boobs. |

He looks the same after the time skip but Charlotte is...yeah. Must have been a Hell of a 3 years. I like how they all pointed out he has a different hair colour from his brothers as if he was an affair baby then never mentioned it again. But he's exactly what the show needed. A sniveling piss ant in a sweater vest. |

Episode 4 And now, Ars has his tactician on-board having won over Rosell's family as that guy is a total wiz in the making. He grew up in a family of hunters, so at the very least he had been living a somewhat free life up until then unlike with Rietz and Charlotte hailing from a family of hunters and gatherers, who are using their skills for that. Even so, it was quite a difficult task convincing him to leave the family, but he did just that. |

@runec Sure it's cute now. But what happens when she attains her ambition? Ambition doesn't just go away. Seems MC should have been spending some of his time looking for an S-rank doctor ... |

Wait, why does sweater vest piss ant get to go to war? Why doesn't he get the front seat to an execution treatment? He can't possibly already be a master strategist beyond Ar's dad to the point they actually need to rely on him in a war. |

@runec that was my thought...this is the kid that was hiding in his room when Ars found him...presumably younger than Ars too. Han's Ars seen the dark skin guy kill several people already too? |

Well that was the first episode where everything didn't just fall into place perfectly for him. runec said: Yeah that made no sense to me either. His family were hunters but that's a far cry from a battlefield. Maybe the dad took them to public executions as a family outing or something? Either way I don't get why they wouldn't take Ars with them as well to get some experience under his belt. Or does his dad think that waiting until Ars has to take command will be the best time to have him experience his first battle?Wait, why does sweater vest piss ant get to go to war? @zkeleton That's a good point. Why wouldn't you bring him to experience his first battle? He needs to get use to it somehow. Better he does when no one is relying on him to command. |

Right. Again, how is sweater vest piss ant okay with all the violence and blood of war to the point he's actually a commander on the field? The show has done zilch to develop his character in any way like that. They don't even give the poor boy appropriate attire for the battlefield. He's just a lone unarmoured child in the middle of a war that somehow hasn't eaten an arrow yet. I find it hard to believe the soldiers actually listen to and respect sweater vest. Anyway, wa wa everything is so sad, poor Ars. Not sure about the whole happily cheering at the funeral part. |

So this entire continent used to be separate countries then was united into the Summerforth Empire. But what's the point of the whole thing being one big country if the central gov't allows these states to have civil wars over succession? And I think in an earlier episode they were worried about the state next to them taking advantage of the fighting to attack their territory. Each state is operating like their own country rather than like they're part of a larger one. How long do you keep paying taxes to a central gov't that lets all this warring go on and does nothing about it? |

Just going straight to declaring independence are we? It's a good thing the bad guys are cartoonishly evil. Wouldn't want any deeper meanings or moral gray areas getting in the way of the story. Such as it is. Maybe if the war actually threatened his domain it might feel like the show has some kind of stakes to it. But as is its all just background noise. |
