Episode 8

After paying a visit to Albert's parents, it's off to a mine, where the miasma swamp is reported to be located. Once they reach the mining settlement, Sei finds out this is the last miasma swamp that needs to be purified in the entire kingdom, and she wonders what will happen once her Saint powers are not necessary anymore. On the way to the mine, the subjugation team is ambushed by wolves that, as it turns out, are undead. Then they see a massive boar bellowing, and the undead wolves retreat. This final subjugation is not going to be like all the others, that's for sure.

You'd think after seeing that they would go back and get some more knights.

They said they wanted the miners to evacuate and that they would then be able to fight all out with them gone, but then don't wait for them to be evacuated before going off to fight. And they split their their forces too. Not a great plan.

I don't know if this series is popular enough to get a third season so I'm hoping we get some resolution to Sei and Hawke's relationship. I'm not expecting a wedding, but at least she accepts his proposal.

@Domvina I'm guessing accepting his proposal will be the finale of the season. At least I hope so. I don't want to watch it drag out for a third season given how clearly into each other they are.

Episode 9

The smell of the monsters starts getting to Sei the deeper into the mine they go. Once they reach the swamp, where the giant boar is, Yuri tries his hand at purifying it himself. But when that doesn't work, everyone else fights back the monsters so Sei can purify it. However, on the way out of the mine, a monster breaks part of a bridge right under Sei's feet, and Albert and the others have to climb down to find her.

Once everyone's reunited, an undead dragon comes out of an even larger miasma swamp, bringing us to the opening scene of the season. Sei's hairpin protects her from the dragon's fire breath, and Albert and Yuri hold back the dragon long enough for Sei to purify the miasma swamp and eradicate the dragon.

I love in shows when they are looking for someone and just constantly screaming their name, but no one is quiet for long enough to see if they hear a response.

Oh no! A giant undead boar! How are we going to fight it?
(Sei one shots it)

This show really lives up to it's title.

I sure hope she does not get returned to Japan before she can consumate her relationship with the commander.

Episode 10

While the group confirms the decrease in monsters, Albert and Sei take time to smell the flowers, and later Albert's parents host an informal banquet. Then Albert and Sei truly have some time to themselves, and some of the people at the market can already see them as a couple. Finally, it's off to a villa on the Hawkes' estate, where Albert offers to teach Sei how to ride a horse in the future, and Sei comes to terms with falling in love.

With the threat of monsters completely dealt with, it looks like this season is going to end with more lighthearted antics.

Episode 11

Yuri's father sends him an invitation to a play, and when Aira mentions there were plays back in her world, Yuri immediately invites Sei to go along with him. However, rumors start spreading that the two are engaged because they were seen together at said play, and Johan and Albert believe this was the intention of Yuri's father. Even though they both know that the rumors are false, Johan presses Albert to make a move soon, before someone swipes Sei out from under him.

Here's a novel idea: Why don't one of you arseholes actually tell Sei that she's going to get married off and let her make a decision for herself?

Johan already told her about all the suitors headed her way. But yes, someone should tell her to decide who she wants to marry quick, before that decision is made for her.

@Galaxy-Crisis Yeah, they gave her a heads up about suitors but didn't tell her it was something she needed to think about right now or else.

Got a feeling that Yuri invited Sei so that she would end up in a situation where she has to agree to be his fiance to avoid a scandal of some sort. His family is trying to force something on her.

Since both the light novel series and the adapted manga are ongoing I'm starting to wonder if we're going to get a conclusive ending to the anime.

Episode 12 (END)

Albert ponders how best to convey his feelings, while Sei is getting so flustered despite knowing the rumors are false. Eventually, Albert asks Sei out, and brings her to a special garden...where he proposes to her, and the garden lights up brilliantly.

Well, that escalated quickly. She went from "I don't even know what to call this feeling yet" to "Oh yeah, I will totally marry you" in the span of 10 minutes. We didn't even get a kiss.

7/10 just because I have a soft spot for the original.

Not quite as good as the first season. Felt a bit disjointed.

The stuff with Hawkes had a steady progression in the first season, but this season it hit an artificial wall just so they could delay till the final episode.

Quite happy that it ended on a proposal.

The series had its flaws, but overall quite enjoyable. One of the few anime this season I genuinely looked forward to seeing each week.

I'm glad the romance was resolved. but the story meandered a lot this season. It seemed more like a slice-of-life show to me. I gave the first season a 7, but I dropped that to a 6/10 this season.
