The first two episodes are up on Crunchyroll as it starts with two episodes, and each episode thereafter airs a week ahead of its TV broadcast. It's going to be the same deal for Liar, Liar starting this Saturday.

Episode 1

Talk about a ridiculous way to die as the guy who would be reincarnated as Lord Pas ends up getting crushed by his creation. Food isn't hard enough to kill somebody, especially when it's turned into art. And so, he's now in his new life being a patissier wanting to create his land of sweets, but that means dirtying his hands with combat and stuff. His father Casserole is quite a skilled guy. Pretty generic start for an isekai once again with the only thing standing out being the gimmick. Pas is all about sweetness, but in this world it's not so easy to do.

Episode 2

And now, the fief that Pas lives in has come under attack. Pas had been training in combat for situations like this, but there's only so much training can do to prepare for the real thing. The situation was getting pretty bad, but Pas turned the tables using his magic to replicate wounds suffered by his comrades.

So far, there's not much of a story to speak of as Pas died and was reincarnated to fulfill his dream, but it's going to be tough when people are killing each other for land and all that stuff. Hopefully things will pick up seeing that so far it has been pretty generic and that the real story hasn't begun seeing that this show is supposed to take place inside a royal palace rather than in a farming village the first two episodes are set in.

So his main ability is Copy/Paste

That has a lot of scary potential but also it means infinite ingredients for his cooking.

Watched. Mixed feelings on it so far. Not sold and a bit derivative. Conditional 4 show rule in effect.

He can replicate wounds, among other things? Well, that's different.

This show doesn't look bad so far. At least Pastry is going to have to be imaginative with his magic.

Should have had a few piles of rocks on top of the walls for when they tried to come over. Even just five or six guys throwing rocks down at them would have made it a lot harder for the bandits to get over.

Anyway, it's ok so far. We'll see if it can avoid being too tropey and predictable.

That VA for that priest always plays the scummy guy.

What a surprise that a priest is corrupt.

or maybe boiling oil to pour on them or spikes at the top of the parapet. But I mean that one guy was too stupid to let go of the pitchfork when the bandit leader pulled on it, so I am guessing Pas isn't necessarily smart, but seems smart by hanging out with a bunch of idiots.

Episode 3

Pas has awakened his special power that is required out of all isekaied MCs, and that is the ability to copy any technique that requires him so have seen it done by the original user.  He uses teleportation to get out of a jam when Marc and Lumi were captured by bandits.  Lumi was hurt, and things were looking pretty bad when Pas tried to fight back, but his sword was sliced in half.  But his power awakened just in the nick of time to get himself, Marc, and Lumi out in time, and then the adults did the rest to round up those bandits.  And the one sending those bandits is revealed as it's some snobby nobles who sent those guys.  That was a better episode than than the first two and I'm starting to warm up to this show.

ok wow that power of his is really scary.  Not only could he amass a ton of magic for himself he can also dish it out to others however he wants.

He's basically All for One but worse.  He doesn't take the powers away from anyone and he clearly doesn't need the original to be present when he hands it out.  He can just randomly pass out any power he has experienced for himself.  Maybe even his own

This guy doesn't think that highly of his daughter if he thinks marrying her is significant punishment for red head's absolute stupidity.

Also that "deepened your flavour profile" comment was very serial killer-ish

If his flavor profile goes any deeper, Pas might start thinking he'd go well with some Adzuki Beans and a nice Amazake...

The first couple eps of this were so-so, but that was awful. Bad enough that they use the latrine level trope of causing trouble by having kid do something stupid, but they compounded it by having the guards be just as stupid and then letting the kid get away with it. I was figuring Pas was going to replicate the wound that Lumi took onto the bandit leader and take care of him that way and then punch the redheaded dumbass for being so stupid.

Just being able to replicate wounds could make him the most dangerous assassin anyone's ever seen. Oh look that guy's throat started bleeding like someone slashed it even though no one was anywhere near him. Oh, now he's got a gaping wound in his chest. And now his head fell off. That was weird.

And it was so predictable too. The moment the kid says "I have an idea" you're like, oh great, go give the bandits your new sword. You then have to watch for like 3-4 minutes while they do the obvious.

A girl having a scar is some kind of a big deal in anime for some reason. I've seen other anime where they emphasize that some wound or other won't leave a scar or they--usually the MC--were able to heal it without leaving a scar. The girl will then take it as meaning the MC cares about how they look so that means the MC has some romantic interest in them. It's always seemed like a real oddball thing to me.

Episode 4

With the bandits having been rounded up, Pas and his father approach the one who sent them, Brioche.  He really knew how to negotiate there, exaggerating the incident by including way more bandits than were actually there, and telling her that they were forced to turn the kids into soldiers.  And when he found out that it was Brioche who ordered the attack, he leveraged that to gain more money to help out the village get back on its feet.  Pas is quite skilled in a number of things, and while it's mostly about making sweets, he can also fight, and now negotiate with royals.

Ok seeing some limits to his powers now.

He can't just Create Apples or stuff out of thin air.  He has to have something to Paste onto. Copy wound onto other people, copy a picture onto a sheet of paper, copy magic into another person

There has to be a surface to copy onto.

It's still grossly overpowered but that is an interesting limit

So they said the sister is nearly thirteen, but they made her look awfully young.

I guess they thought it would catch the countess off guard to have Pas take the lead talking about the bandits. It made the dad look silly though just sitting there doing nothing while he let his young child do all the talking. That sort of thing makes me appreciate something like Bookworm so much more.

Yeah so he's more a universal copy machine and not a do anything 3D printer. It would have been nice if they'd made it clearer how his powers work before this. I was sitting there the whole time wondering why he doesn't just copy some coins or food or something like that.

Wait, in episode 1, they said they couldn't extort the higher nobles into helping them fight the bandits, but in this episode they can extort them for money for letting the bandits escape their territory. Well, the head bandit escaped your territory, so I guess you are Fed if anyone finds out.

Also, sitting there and watching your son extort money out of a woman is just fine, but insulting the sweets she served at tea time is just going too far?

Also, these parents admitted they broke off ties with their families because they didn't want to have their marriages arranged, but they can't wait to marry off their youngest daughter?

I'm not sure if the Countess woman is going to be an enemy now, or he bought her off with his photo...

maybe not an enemy but she sure as heck is going to want some leverage on the kid for the future.  As 10 year olds go he's clearly an asset and to her mind, even a gifted 10 year old is still 10

She will probably take action to win him over....for example who is that little girl with the long black hair in the OP.  If that's her daughter or even a relative, an engagement offer to his father is a good way to secure the kid.  For a poor noble an engagement to a wealthier one is a boon that is difficult to turn down.

They mentioned all her heirs are dead so i can see her being a relative perhaps. I'm not sure why they made the MC a pastry chef if he's negotiating with nobility like it was his job in his past life to manipulate people and run a country... None of the skills from his past life suggest he was intelligent enough to do any of this.

Yeah, that's what they said, she was the regent while the true heir came of age. I wasn't sure if they were trying to hint that she was complicit in the death of the heir or not. Her expressions at the end kind of make me believe she isn't really supposed to be a bad guy though.

New characters are introduced as there are the twins Lico and Petra, and Petra’s matchmaking partner Squale. It’s mostly a chill episode until the end there when bandits attack the carriage the girls are in. These bandits aren’t as dumb as they look, but neither is Pastry. His plan to make this world a sweets paradise is moving right along, though he has to know when not to make them.

Episode 6

While Petra is looking forward to getting married to Squale, there's somebody who is none too pleased about it as the former duke of Armire stands to lose a great deal if this marriage goes through as it was Squale's family who led to Armire's downfall ten years ago.  As such, Armire hires a bunch of thugs to kidnap Petra to put a stop to the wedding, but unfortunately they kidnapped the wrong person as Licorice was taken, and on top of that they kidnapped Pastry along with the wrong twin.  It's a great thing Pastry is with her as he figured out it was Armire who did it, and Casserole is on his way seeing that those thugs are now looking to silence them.  While they might have beefed up security, it's totally useless against somebody who can just create a hole to have his target fall and then abduct them once they reach the ground.
