| The girl reminds me of Watamote. These are elementary schoolers, where the hell are the teachers allowing this bullying? I can see High Schoolers being left more to their own devices, especially in Japan, but not elementary schoolers. The whole school calls her grim reaper, certainly the teachers know. Seems like Hino doesn't avoid her though. |
| Episode 1 And here is an odd friendship between a girl whose outlook in life is so bleak that she's been dubbed the Grim Reaper, and a boy who is quite outgoing, and totally clueless about what happens around him. So Nishimura and Takada have their encounter, and while Nishimura is so used to being bullied, it came at a shock with the way Takada approached her. It certainly looks like something that could be fun and amusing as this friendship develops. |
| I'd probably like this show a lot more with better character art. The first episode was pretty fun, but I could lose interest fast if it gets too repetitive. It looks like it will be slice of life with a few mini-plots per episode. |

| Episode 2 And it's a bunch of 4koma stuff here as it introduces Takada's friend Hino and his sister Yukiko. Hino sure has a rather crazy reason for wearing tank tops as he views all sleeves the same. Then there's Takada's sister who just loves to dress up Nishimura with her old clothes. Pretty amusing stuff going on. |

| Episode 3 Nishimura picks up a black cat, and nevermind what anybody else says about it being ominous like the Grim Reaper as it's just too cute to leave behind. And then it's summer break and being told that wearing a school swimsuit makes her stand out that she goes out to buy a new one. Problem is that they are either flashy or expensive, so she goes something that's a compromise of all that, and it's a good choice. So it's off to the pool with friends. Everybody is getting along with her quite well seeing that Nishimura is somebody that some people would never approach. |

| Episode 4 So Takada used to live in the same neighborhood as Nishimura's grandmother does, so that's how they ended up meeting over the summer break at her grandmother's place. And that happens after Kuro breaks free from her cage. Nice to see those two getting along so well once again, and perhaps it wasn't coincidence that they met to become friends. |
| Good to see Takada have an actual revelation, it's a shame it had to be so sad. Hopefully it will take the show in a new direction now as the cluelessness has been a little too front and centre up to this point. |

| Episode 5 Takada is such a pal, going as far as to promise not to call Nishimura the Grim Reaper anymore, but she doesn't mind being called that. Anyway, those two continue to make some great summer memories, culminating with a photo contest that took second prize. Way to have a fun time there. With that, it's back to school for the next semester after doing quite a lot of things together over the break. |

| Episode 6 And now, an episode focused on Adachi, who is Hino's next-door neighbor. Before that, there's the need to pick two class reps, and Nishimura was nominated. Despite not being obligated to say yes, she accepts the job. Then Takada volunteers, and Kasahara does so as well. In the end, Takada backs out and the two girls are the class reps. And with Hino's birthday coming up, Adachi becomes friends with everybody. Adachi is really cute, especially with the way she shows her affection in regards to Hino. |

| Episode 7 Time for a field trip as the class heads out to a science museum. Takada gets carsick pretty easily, and he blows all of his money on snacks as he gets carried away. And then it's lunch time as Nishimura notices that her father has put an ajitama in her bento. It's there gor good luck or something. Nevertheless, she made some great friends along the way as the field trip was great. |
| Episode 8 The school festival is on, and naturally, Nishimura would get the role of the witch for the play. And then Takada and Nishimura go around wearing yukatas as if it were the summer festival. And then with sports day coming up, the two go on top of the jungle gym. But then Nishimura falls down, and Takada breaks his arm to break her fall. He's in the hospital to get surgery and ends up in a cast, but it's a clean break, so there's a chance he will be ready to go for the event. Once again, Takada shows just how carefree he is, and turns chuunibyou with his arm wrapped up in a cast. |
| Episode 9 Time for field day, and Takada is out of action thanks to his arm, but he's not going to stay on the sidelines as he can still use his legs and the last event is the relay. Kitagawa was chosen to be the anchor, and he's none too pleased about it seeing that the relay was decided with Takada in mind. They fall behind, but Kasahara makes up the deficit, and then just when it looked like all hope was lost when Kitagawa needed to make a trip to the restroom after drinking too much tea leading up to the event, Takada comes in and wins it for the red team. Lots of drama here, but it was always a given that Takada would come back in time to save the day. |
| Episode 10 Takada and friends are coming over to Nishimura to visit her for the first time. She was all too excited about it that she cleaned up her place, as well as bought desserts and picked out a dress to wear for the occasion. And then the day comes as Nishimura is feeling unter the weather. But the friends still come over, only this time to nurse her back to health. She was just so out of it to the point that she thought all of this was a dream. And then she sports the chuunibyou look that Rikka made famous, but unlike her, she's not the delusional type. This goes to show just how great having friends is. |

| Episode 11 Nishimura and Kasahara have joined together to form... the Swift Reaper Alliance? Christmas is coming, and for that Takada and Nishimura go shopping. Nishimura sure can sing even if her songs are cursed. And then it's Christmas, and those to go shopping for a cake, and this feels like a date even if that's not what it actually is. Pretty nice of them to get together like that and the misunderstandings just keep on coming. |
| Episode 12 Just when it looked like a confession was coming and those two were going to become the OTP, it ends with the status quo as while feelings were confessed, it wasn't serious as those kids are far too young to be thinking about these kinds of things. And thus, the Christmas party is on with gifts being exchanged, and even though it's winter Hino is still wearing the tank tops and even gifting one to Nishimura. Then comes the new year as they go off to the shrine. And then it's back to school where everybody changes seats, and Nishimura is side-by-side with Takada once again. Very ncie episode that was. One more episode left to go and given the episode title, I have to think that it has something to do with career choices. |
| Episode 13 (Finale) A bomb has been planted in Nishimura's locker, and the Scorpion gang is desperate to get it out before it explodes. But the teacher got to it first, and it turns out that this bomb releases a horde of roaches when the timer winds down. And then everybody tries to imagine themselves ten years into the future, and for Takada he thinks he's some kind of a demon lord with Nishimura by his side. Nishimura can't think of anything. And then it end with Takada meeting up with Nishimura and her father, and seeing that using last names in his presence is confusing that they start calling each other by first name. Things pretty much end on-par with what this show has been all about, which is all well and good. Final Thoughts This show is a nice and amusing slice-of-life that has interesting characters, funny jokes, and solid character building seeing that the two leads have improved outlooks on life with them being more accepting of each other and making friends. It was nice and well-written for what it is for the most part. Just about the only issues with this show are the animation quality and the tendency to get repetitive and overplay Nishimura's dark nature. But in all, it was fun to watch for what it is. Grade: B (8/10) |
| So that episode title was based only on the 2 minute segment where they drew themselves in 10 years...kind of misleading. This was a cute show, although I am not sure 10 year olds are really interested in romance. 7.5/10 |
| Kinda disappointing finale, since the title was something like: "10 Years in the future." The most it went was 3 years. From Class 2-1 to Class 5-1. I really wanted to see a nearly adult Nishemura and Takada. Just like in "Teasing-Master Takagi" that shows the two MCs as adults and their daughter. Oh well, perhaps that is only me. Oh well, I mostly enjoyed the show. the quality of art let it down. I'm sure that was done to be in line with the manga art. Character growth through the show was excellent, with the most growth, I'd say, by Sumire Kasahara. Overall, I'd give the show an 8/10. Edited to change 5 years to 3 years. I can count, but I can't type. :) |

| 6/10 for me. I just don't do well with school slice of life shows, but this one kept me entertained enough to keep watching. |
