Is there any watch order between old one and new one and movies?

Both are separate shows so it doesn't matter whichever you see first. As for the movies, conquer of Shamballa is a direct sequel to the 2003 whereas Sacred Star of Milos is a side story to 2009.

Brotherhood follows manga till the end.

Old anime diverges from manga at some point and has original ending.

But the beginning is more detailed in old version while in new one the same content is more condensed (like 20 episodes vs 10, or so, I don't really remember).

You can decide what to watch first for yourself (if you even want to watch both). Personally, I would suggest starting with Brotherhood. You don't have to worry about movies for now.

The watch order is straightforward.

Watch FMAB from start to finish and you’re done.

if you want, you could do a certain watch order, but not necessary. you can do fmab beginning to end then watch the first 25 ish episodes of 03. or just watch them both

Well, there are people who think the original FMA does a better job in the early parts of the show. They might recommend an order that pastes the two shows together. As for the movies, you can consider Conqueror of Shambala to be a direct sequel to the original, and Star of Milos is just a side story to Brotherhood, don't bother with it until you're finished with the series.

Yeah, so on second thought, combining the two is just a bad idea, should have learned that lesson about chimeras...

Watch this one first

Then switch to the old one

Older version is far better and deeper

I'm of the opinion that episodes 1 and 27 of Brotherhood are skippable, but some might disagree. They're just recap episodes.

If you want a serious non-sarcastic answer since people here can't seem to do that... then I would recommend watching the original 2003 series first. It's still a really great show and I think it's the best introduction to the series.

Although Brotherhood is a remake, it assumes you've watched the original so it kind of speeds through the introduction and backstory a bit. I think the original did it much better. So I would recommend watching the original and the sequel movie Conquerer of Shamballa, and when you get in the mood for more Fullmetal watch Brotherhood. Whether you want to watch it right away or wait a couple months (which is what I did) is up to you.

Both versions are definitely worth checking out because they have very different second halves and they're both good in their own right 😁

I'm pretty sure that people who say that the first FMA follows the manga more closely at the beginning didn't actually read the manga. The first version changes a lot of things since the very beginning. That doesn't makes it bad, but most people (including me) prefers the manga over that version.

So to give a slightly different answer from everyone: read the first 4 chapters of the manga, watch the special episodes (the long ones, not the 1~3 minutes shorts), and then watch Brotherhood skipping episodes 1 and 27. After you've finished, you can watch the short specials, episodes 1 and 27 and the Sacred Star of Milos whenever you feel like.

Why I recommend this order:
- The first episode of Brotherhood is fine, but it has a "hidden" spoiler (none of my friends noticed it, but I still think it's important to warn about) and it's not as engaging as how it's told in the manga (in my opinion). Also, Brotherhood skips a couple of stories from the beginning of the manga, one of those is actually important, I don't know why they did that.

- The four special episodes are canon and all of them happen before the first episode. If you decide to not read the first chapters of the manga before watching, then leave those specials for later, or you might feel a little lost. But you can watch them first if you've already watched FMA 2003.

- Episode 27 is just a recap and I think it works better as something to watch long after you've finished the series and at one random day you just feel like "man, I miss Fullmetal Alchemist". No problem watching it in the series order tho.

- The short specials are pretty funny, but they have spoilers and joke about some specific stuff, so it's better to watch fresh after you've finished the series.

- The Sacred Star of Milos happens during some unspecific time in the middle of Brotherhood but doesn't really interferes with the story, so just leave it for later. But I think it's an awful movie and don't really recommend it.

recommendation is to watch 2003 up until it stops cover manga stuff because when brotherhood adapts that part it rushes through since it assumes most people already watched it and that means those moments lose some impact which sucks cause 2 of them some of the more memorable moments the movies are non canon except conquer one which acts the ending for 2003, there is some merit to 2003 even after it stops covering manga so if u want go watch it in its entirety after brotherhood or just watch all of 2003 and its movie before watching brotherhood like i did its up to u

edit: merging the shows might not be the best idea cause they still have differences even when they both cover manga but once again its all up to u just do which ever sounds better

The original is a Non-Canon original story with no connection to the Manga, it's skippable, same with the movies. Brotherhood is the only thing you need to watch, its the only thing that follows the Manga.

It's always funny to see people judging something's worth solely by if it's in a manga or not 🤣

The order is not so important about the line how you watch It, everything links in the way no matter wich episode you're watching!!!!! is why this season is god.

I have too add something people use to forget: even before the divergence point, 2003 FMA has already introduced some major changes.

I think it will be the best to watch in this order :
1.) FMA : Brotherhood full series,
2.) All Special Episodes(there are 4 of them),
3.) FMA : The Sacred Star of Milos.

As Special Episodes contain spoilers of the series, They should be watched after completing the main 64 episodes.

The specials have spoilers? I don't remember that, pretty sure all of them happen before episode 1 and are complementary to the narrative.

Watch 2003 first. It’s brilliant and vastly different from Brotherhood, but you won’t enjoy it if you only watch it after FMAB.
