It was quite a chore to watch season 5 seeing that this is the weakest part of the manga from what I have been hearing. But it all leads to this season where there is lots of tension, and it's great. The payoff is definitely worth the wait. So far this season, there have been three major battles, and the most recent one in episode 116 was just heartbreaking to watch. While Twice is one of the villains, he's just way too kind to be siding with the evil. He and Hawks would have been best friends had they met under different circumstances. But such is this society and that goes to show that the hero system has its flaws seeing that what Hawks is doing is his job. This season, all hell breaks loose, and unlike the previous seasons, it gets straight to the war as opposed to starting things off with an anime-original episode. Can't wait to see how all this plays out as it sets things up for what should be an amazing final arc that is currently being written. |

I did not like the League of Villains part of last season and this is going into that territory too. They are going to hard trying to make us sympathize with a bunch of people who think nothing about murder. So, they have loyalty among themselves, so what, they murder innocent people without a second thought. |

Episode 117 With Dabi taking down Hawks after what he did to Twice, the scene shifts to Dr. Garaki's lab where Mirko is out to take out the Nomus, and put an end to Tomura while he's in a tube. As strong as Mirko is, fighting that many Nomus really takes quite the toll on her. While she did manage to break the tube, it didn't stop Tomura from inheriting All for One's powers, albeit just a copy of it as he wakes up after his tube shatters. The situation is only getting more dire with heroes falling and the villains only getting more formidable. This season just continues to be way better than the last season, and it's thanks to all the buildup from the last season that it's able to realize its potential in the arc that has massive consequences. |

Those High Ends are ridiculous. Even with several Top 10 heroes and their quirks being sealed by Eraser Head, they are nowhere near being beaten. Though not surprising considering how much trouble Endeavor and Hawks had prior. It was a blessing that Mirko managed to down a few before their awakening. Major props to her once again; swarmed with injuries and Nomus, she's utterly relentless in pursuing her mission. I imagine Shigaraki will be even more broken than the High Ends, and will beat back the Endeavor Team with the High Ends. No way Shigaraki falls at this point in the story. I just hope the heroes don't die... especially Aizawa and Endeavor. |

Say, random red shirt hero, why don't you guard this absurdly dangerous villain who's been in suspended animation, while I take this mad scientist out of here, because I have plot armor. |

Episode 118 Tomura's power has just been supercharged thanks to Garaki's experiment on him, and now he's able to cause widespread destruction with his Quirk, enhanced by All for One. The heroes really have their work cut out now after seeing just what the leader is capable of doing firsthand. That was just insane what happened there going to show that this battle is unlike anything else they have experienced. |

Tokoyami managed to rescue Hawks, but Shigaraki has effectively destroyed the entire city. Plus, he's contacted Gigantomachia, so things are about to take a drastic turn at the villa. Since Shigaraki can now decay anything near what he touches, I think he could become overpowered if somehow he got the capability to decay the air around him. |

Episode 119 Shigaraki's awake, and he hears a voice throbbing in his head to steal One For All. When Midoriya gets wind of this, he and Bakugo lure him away from the evacuation effort and give time for Endeavor and other heroes to regroup and launch an attack. But Shigaraki is strong in his own right even with Aizawa keeping his Quirks at bay, and to make matters worse, Shigaraki evidently still has an army of Nomus at his disposal. |

Episode 119 Shigaraki is now a one man wrecking crew, and he's out to loot One For All with All for One. He's already dangerous thanks to Garaki's experiments on him that created the perfect Nomu. If he loots One For All, it's all over and Garn Torino is trying to keep Izuku away from him while coming up with a counterstrategy in light of this development. And making a bad situation even worse, somehow those Nomus survived the decay attack. Things have reached a dragon-level crisis situation. |

Episode 120 Midoriya and Bakugo join the fight to keep Shigaraki from taking out Aizawa, and it turns into an all-out brawl. It seems All For One (the Quirk) has a consciousness of its own and is trying to impose its will on Shigaraki, even though he wants to take Midoriya's Quirk for his own reasons. Meanwhile, Gigantomachia breaks out and carries Skeptic and the League of Villains on his back. When Midnight is knocked back, she implores the students in a roundabout way to do everything they can to stop him. |

Episode 121 All the students put in a valiant effort to try and stop Gigantomachia in his tracks long enough to throw an anesthetic solution into his mouth. Ashido gets close, but his voice reminds her of when she was intimidated by his size that time when he was simply asking for directions. So Kirishima steps in and manages to get the solution into Gigantomachia's mouth. Now they just need to wait for it to take effect, but it's not going to be easy. Meanwhile, Shigaraki proves difficult to restrain as he goes after Aizawa. Midoriya and Ryukyu manage to stop his advance, but Shigaraki throws a Quirk-erasing bullet into Aizawa's leg. |

Episode 121 It took a lot of effort from all those students, but they managed to get Gigantomachia to take a vile of that drug. Opening that thing's mouth was tough, but it took Kirishima's bravery to finally get that giant thing to take its medicine. While that's going on, Gran Torino and Eraser Head are down for the count in battling Shigaraki. While Aizawa did what he can to keep him pinned down, Shigaraki had a bullet that can loot another's Quirk with Aizawa getting shot in the leg. Seeing how difficult these battles are that things are getting quite desperate for the heroes. |

Episode 122 Aizawa cuts off his leg, but Shigaraki gets close and slashes at his face. Shigaraki's body begins to show signs of breaking down, and Midoriya gets him airborne using Float, but it soon turns into a battle of attrition. Bakugo and Todoroki help Endeavor get close for him to burn Shigaraki, but the villain launches a surprise attack, and Bakugo is run through while getting Midoriya out of the way. |

I gotta say, that was such an underwhelming reveal of a new One For All power. Not necessarily due to the power itself (well, partly), but how they just threw it into the story with zero buildup or tease. And like, why float? It seems so redundant considering he already has enough speed and strength to glide through the air. Idk what Kōhei Horikoshi was thinking. |

Episode 122 Eraser Head is definitely a goner after this, but he's fighting until the bitter end there, taking that bullet and amputating his leg so that he can keep up his Quirk activated even with one eye slashed. And then Izuku lands a ton of hits on Shigaraki, but of course this isn't a normal supervillain as he also hears that voice. And then Bakugo there at the end, he takes quite a beating there. What an episode that was seeing Izuku evolve as well as seeing Aizawa, Endeavor, and Bakugo sacrificing themselves to take that walking doomsday machine down. |

Episode 123 All for One's will once again imposes itself on Shigaraki, but the previous users of One for All fight back within the Quirk's subconscious. The recoil sends both Shigaraki and Midoriya flying backwards. Meanwhile, Himiko separates from the rest of the League to confront Ochaco, splitting her up from Tsuyu and luring her into an empty house. |

Episode 124 Dabi reveals himself to be Todoroki's long lost brother Toya. Dabi is none too pleased that he was abandoned so that Shoto got it all while Dabi got nothing. Dabi hjacks the news networks in order to stir up doubt about the heroes portraying Endeavor as somebody who has done bad things in the past. Just when it looked like all was lost, in comes Jeanist, a hero Dabi claims Hawks killed. Dabi sure did stir up a lot of trouble there, and it will be interesting to see how things turn out now that Jeanist is there and there's some gaps in Davi's credibility. |

Best Jeanist may still be alive, but the damage has already been done. Something like this that exposes a person's flaws to the world is effective because people these days expect others to be absolutely flawless in all aspects of their lives. Now Endeavor's shock at learning that Dabi is his son Toya has basically crippled him. |

Episode 125 Best Jeanist struggles to keep Gigantomachia restrained, while Shoto grapples against his brother. Several Nomus arrive to help the villains, so Bakugo steps up, and Mirio makes his appearance with his Quirk fully restored, but it's still not enough yet. Then Midoriya's assist to Shoto causes Endeavor to break out of his funk long enough to punch Gigantomachia the moment he breaks free from his restraints. And finally, the anesthetic Kirishima threw in his mouth kicks in at last. The scales have tipped once again, albeit very slightly, and it looks like Mr. Compress plans to put on quite a show next week. |

Would Yaoyorozu be able to create the quirk-destroying bullets with her quirk? I doubt she would ever use it based on her character, but if someone like Shigaraki or All for One got a hold of her ability, I imagine they wouldn't hesitate to create those bullets. |

Episode 126 Mr. Compress breaks free by using his Quirk to gouge out parts of his own body. He basically risks his own life to buy time for Spinner to get Shigaraki awake. But once Shigaraki does awaken, All for One is in full control, and he decides the best course of action is to retreat before all of the League can regroup. Next episode is in two weeks, and the next episode preview plays a clip of the upcoming ending theme in the background. |

The last 2 seasons MHA has jumped the shark for me. I'm getting tired of the villain backstories that make them seem like they think they are trying to improve society by defeating the heroes. I mean the heroes coming for them has only been a side effect of them murdering 10s of thousands of innocent people. Okay, so people lose faith in the heroes, but they sure as hell aren't going to side with the villains, so in the end society just collapses? I think Demon Slayer does a much better job of giving the villains backstory. At least it doesn't try to justify why they became villains, it just shows they had shitty lives which allowed then to be manipulated by Muzan. They aren't trying to change society, they're just trying to survive. |

Episode 126 And just like that, the battle is over and while the heroes suffered massive losses, at the very least they bought themselves some time for a counterstrategy as Shigaraki and company were ordered to retreat by All For One. While the villains had their way, they too suffered big losses as Compress and Gigantomachia went down, all while Spinner had to do everything he can just to wake Shigaraki up. And of course, this war goes to show the cracks in the hero system as it's because of those that some of these villains chose to side with the bad guys. It will be interesting to see how all that plays out, but in the meantime there's a lot of regrouping. |

The sheer number of extreme efforts during the battle were extreme and extremely extremified. I can't think of another show that has so many members pushing themselves to the brink of death like that. I do like that both heroes and villains struggled and suffered losses, but I got burned out with extremeness fatigue. By all rights, most of the main characters in the fight should be disabled for the rest of their lives, even with the special healing they get. They should at least take a few years off to rest and recuperate and maybe replace some body parts. |

Episode 127 The second half of the season kicks off with the heroes moving to rescuing people affected by all the damage incurred during the operation, but it's proving to be too much for some of the established heroes as they consider quitting their hero careers. Also, Midnight and Majestic evidently did not survive. Plus, All for One is not going to give anyone time to rest, as he plans to break out of Tartarus while everyone is focused elsewhere. |

Episode 127 And here it's mostly a recap episode, but with new content towards the end of the episode. That's why this is episode 127 and not 126.5 seeing that it's not completely recap. There was just a lot of chaos happening in that war, and now it's about to become a bigger hell with the villains out to break Mr. Shigaraki out from Tartarus. In any case, the situation is really bad with several heroes dead or badly wounded like Aizawa and Midnight, while there's a lot of public mistrust in the heroes system, and now the greatest villain of all time is about to be on the loose again. |

God damn. This show. I've put so much time into watching it but I seriously wish it would just end. I can barely follow it any more (even with the recap) and I am starting to feel numb. More and more characters being thrown in and I just don't care. It's like when I've screwed up a recipe that I'm cooking and I keep adding more and more ingredients trying to fix it and really I should just throw the whole mess away. I felt the same way about Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? but at least I had the sense to drop that one last season. Ah well. Since this ep was mostly a recap I'll give it one more. |

Midnight is dead? She was the only interesting full fledged hero. Japan has the death penalty and isn't shy about using it, why hasn't All For One been executed? That's dumber than a supervillain leaving the hero around to explain his plot to destroy the world. Yeah I just think the author is padding the story at this point and we are headed nowhere |

Episode 128 All for One controls Shigaraki's body and orchestrates a massive attack and breakout from Tartarus, bringing with him several high-powered villains like Muscular and Moonfish. Overhaul is also freed, and the escapees then launch attacks on other prisons to break out their inmates as well. Spinner doesn't like the fact that All for One has effectively seized control of the League from Shigaraki. Meanwhile, with the people demanding immediate answers as the heroes try to recover, the country quickly spirals into chaos. Endeavor's still in surgery, and Midoriya is the only one of the students who hasn't woken up yet. |

Episode 128 The situation goes from bad to worse as a massive jailbreak campaign has resulted in villains incarcerated in seven prisons escaping that includes All For One. Adding more fuel to the fire is the fact that one of the ringleaders of the villains is Endeavor's son that puts a whole lot of distrust in the public. At least the heroes have a chance to regroup, but they don't have much time, after everything that went down. Not to mention, Izuku hasn't woken up. Next time, it's going to be about Endeavor as the new symbol of peace, he has a lot he needs to answer to given that he's not what a hero is supposed to be all about. |

Episode 129 Now we get Hawks's backstory and how he got out from being in an abusive family. When his father got caught by Endeavor, he and his mother were essentially put in witness protection as a condition for him becoming a hero. But Dabi found out about Hawks's mother and sent some people after her. Now with numerous heroes quitting, more and more civilians are resorting to vigilantism, causing even more collateral damage. Endeavor's awake, but he's a broken man. Will a family talk be what he needs to gain the strength to push forward? |

Episode 129 And while the episode title is all about the Todoroki, Hawks is the character of focus as he looked up to Endeavor. But his upbringing was pretty rough as he had to put up with an abusive family that was administered justice to by Endeavor. The Great Resignation is happening by the Heroes as their public image has been badly tarnished, and Japan is about to become a lawless place now that the villains have broken out of jail. Endeavor has awakened, but now he's broken, perhaps beyond repair, and now it's up to the family to fix him. Just brutal that was as the heroes aren't exactly shining examples of how to be a hero, and on the flipside there are some villains like Twice who would have been able to live an honest life had the heroes helped them out like they are supposed to. |

Episode 130 This week we learn about how Toya descended into madness. Turns out he's got a one-track mind just like his father, and he won't be derailed. Then Best Jeanist and Hawks show up and propose a team-up. Meanwhile, Midoriya still hasn't awakened yet, and All Might believes it's because he's conversing with One for All's previous wielders at that moment. |

I can't feel an ounce of sympathy for Toya/Dabi. You're father instilled the drive to be a hero in you, but instead you become a villain? Shoto and their mother had it much worse than Toya. |

To be fair, i don't think Toya's parents ever explained why they wanted him to stop training. Look at Endeavour just laying the law down because he's the boss. That doesn't help the situation at all and needless to say is terrible parenting. If you can't even be bothered communicating, then don't be surprised when your "hero" son falls victim to his own insecurity. If either of Toya's parents had actually done any parenting, he would have turned out no worse than Shoto. @HOOfan_1 Would you say it's worse to be a neglected child starved of father's attention or have an overbearing strict father. I can't honestly say, they both sound bad. |

I can't honestly say, they both sound bad. Pretty sure they told him, his body couldn't handle it. His little sister even knew that him continuing to train was harmful to him. His mom was hardly neglectful. Yeah, I would rather be Toya where I have a loving mother and 2 siblings who love me and I can interact with, than be Shota where my father forbids me from interacting with the rest of my family, beats my mother in front of me and probably even beats me. Toya and Shoto's other brother and sister were also ignored by Endeavor, they didn't turn into villains. |

It sure does look like Toya was psycho from the beginning. Now the family has to get together and find a way to deal with him. I wouldn't think that reconciling with Toya would be an option, but I'd expect them to try anyway. I have this weird feeling that we're forgetting some important villain, though. Well, Dabi's the biggest problem the heroes are facing, right? |

Episode 130 It's no wonder why Toya ended up becoming who he is. Being pegged as the dark sheep of the family is one way for that to happen, but with the way Endeavor was treating him he has every right to be mad about him. Even so, being a psycho only made things worse and had he not taken up that mentality, he wouldn't be that way. Next time, the attention shifts towards Izuku as now he's battling Shigaraki internally. |

Episode 131 This episode is such a big game-changer. Izuku learns everything about One For All, and in particular that he's probably the last holder given that it requires somebody born Quirkless to inherit it, something that's becoming a rarity these days. Not to mention, Shigaraki coming after him and that it's game over if he loots his Quirk. It puts a lot of strain on his body, something Shinomori experienced firsthand. So after all that, the truth is explained to the public that Toya is Endeavor's son and that Hawks killed Twice, all while the UA dorms are being used as an evacuation shelter. But the biggest move of all is that Izuku decides to drop out of UA academy seeing that Shigaraki is coming after him and doesn't want anybody else to get caught up in it. And thus, the final act begins and it's going to really be something. |
