I just finished the first season of Yakusoku no neverland and I really liked it a lot... But I've realized that the 2nd season has bad reviews. My question is do you recommend the anime or the manga???

As an anime only person, you should watch season 2 with zero expectations on it.

Alot of the manga readers were (rightly) upset with them skipping an entire section, ie a few volumes of the manga. And then giving it an original ending.

Watch season 2, then read the manga for max enjoyment of everything out of The Promised Neverland series.

I'm currently wondering the same. Is it one particular episode in season 2 from which point on it turns to shit, or were people unhappy with it from the start?
I probably regret this post by now.

Anime has skipped many arcs/chapters to conclude the story in an untidy manner.

If you are okay with reading a manga, than definitely go ahead. Otherwise, anime s2 was subpar.

I only read half of the manga but I do recommend it over the anime since they skipped the second most popular arc (after the first one), removed the most popular side character, and never revealed some of the mysteries.

@Alcoholicide I think episode 3 was when that character was missing and manga readers got a little angry, then very angry when the arc was skipped a few episodes later. And in the end everyone agreed because the last episode was a sad excuse of an ending.

I won't recommend s2, it ruined an important moment.

s2 rly svck (I dropped it), but the manga went downhill too for many reasons. s2 skipped the only decent arc before the manga went downhill.

If you loved s1 bc the of battle of wits, it slowly turned more of action/adventure than battle of wits. Worse is how they watered down a well-liked character, and that character just became a sidekick.

If you plan to read the manga, the last chapters were obviously rushed so bad, things happened without too much development. It was a big mess, a lot of things were just being thrown to readers just to make some situations happen.

s1 is one of my fave anime, but I hated s2 and the manga (expect the one arc that they skipped in anime)
