| First of all I read the manga up until "Succession" and watched the 1999 Version which was pretty good. Second of all, I disliked G.I and Chimera Ant in the manga, because of various reasons. So I want to ask does the 2011 anime adaptation those 2 arcs better than the manga or has anything special which would make it worth to me to watch that whole thing? I appreciate every answer. |
| No, except for better artwork, they are basically the same thing. Even GI in OVA version is better than GI in 2011 ... *I only read the manga from CA. |

| First let me say i haven't read the manga and only watched the anime, both the original and the 2011 version, so i can only give my opinion based on that. Anyway here goes. The short answer would be no and for the long answer: Hunter x Hunter has been on my top 3 favorite anime's of all time, ever since i watched the original version and the 2011 version didn't change that. However the 2011 V. was sprinting all the way through the anime op to the end of G.I. where the chimera ant arc starts. In other words the 2011 V. was skipping a lot of scenes that where in the original and even changeing some of them, so the first half up to the chimera ant was better in the original. As for the 2011 V. from the chimera ant arc and forward it was done very well and i liked it, but i can't imagine they changed that much of it from the manga and if you didn't like the arc in the manga, then you properbly won't like the arc in the anime. So basically the original is much better, and except from a few change scenes, you won't miss anything new and if you didn't like the ant arc in the manga you properbly won't like it in the anime, so you can just skip the 2011 V. Anyway i hope any of what i wrote was usefull and that it helps you make a decision. |
