| saki couldnt believe what she had just seen she ran to her parents on the floor crying as she saw both bleeding fiercly |

| A chuckle can be heard behind the girl as the demon creeps up on her "Another human" it said as he sniffed the air "A virgin too....mmmm...they taste the best" it said as he stepp closer, blood covering his claws and teeth. Haruka was perched on the roof of a house not too far from where she sensed the demon. "He's near" she said to herself "It seems like I'm too late. I can smell human blood" she leaps from roof to roof, heading in the direction of the demon. |

| saki freezes when she hears the demon behind here as her mum opens her eyes slightly "r-run....save...y-yourself" saki stood for a moment shaking her head then starts running "i love you"she called as she ran |

| The girl was too slow to run. The demon was in front of the girl within seconds. It smirked as he raised his claws but stopped short of bringing them down on her. It stood there and looked down to see a sword sticking out of it's torso. Haruka stood behind the demon as she held her sword then pushed it upward, cutting the demon in half. It fell to the ground in a bloody heap. |

| saki closed her eyes ready to be killed not able to look, when nothing happens she slowly opens her eyes and see's the demon split in half and she screamed |

| Haruka walked over to the young girl and kneeled down "Are you ok" she said then saw the man and the woman on the floor. She went over to check "hmmm...dead" she said then looked back over at the girl. |

| Saki looked at the strange women and nodded in answer sitting on the floor she started crying harder when she heard her parents were dead |
|
| Haruka walked over and kneeled down, placing her hand on the girls shoulder. She was never one to be able to console someone but she did the best she could. |

| saki looked at haruka as she felt her hand on her shoulder her view hindered by the tears "w-why" she asked feeling her hand on her shoulder |
|
| "I know it hurts" Haruka said as she looked into the girls tearful eyes. "Your parents where just the unfortunate victims of a hungry demon." |
|
| "b-but why d-did i s-survive"she said tearful then feel into haruka hugging her as she would her mum |
|
| "Because I killed it before it could" Haruka said as she held the gril "I'm a demon slayer." |
|
| Saki pullls away "s-so you l-let it kill m-my p-parents" she said ready to run away |
|
| "Of course not" Haruka said "I wasn't able to get to them in time. I'm sorry. I wish I did" she said, feeling bad she could not save her parents. |

| saki walks and sits between her parents sobbing "what n-now" |
|
| "Let's give your parents a proper burial" Haruka said then stood up to get ready..... ...after burying the girls parents she said a prayer for them then turned to her "By the way, what's your name?" |

| Saki silently cries throughout the whole ceremony and repeats haruka's prayer afterwards she turns unable to look anymore then heres her question "im s-saki" |
|
| "I'm Haruka" she said then started to leave. "Come on,let's go" |
|
| "g-go"Saki said looking at haruka confused |
|
| "There's no point in you staying here" Haruka said as she turned back then continued to leave. |
|
| "im not leaving them"Saki said standing firm watching haruka leave |
|
| "Why?" Haruka said "Your parents would have wanted you to live on. Not dwell on their death" |
|
| "but what have i got to go to"Saki said upset |
|
| "Fine" Haruka said as she stopped and turned to face Saki. "I'll stay too." |
|
| Saki looks at haruka surprised "b-but why" |
|
| "Because the second the demon world gets wind of a virgin girl living alone They will be all over the place" Haruka said as she walked back over to Saki. |
|
| Saki blushed at haruka's bluntness "i have nothing to live for so let them come" saki said walking to the house |
|
| Haruka just sighed "They would not have wanted you to just throw your life away" she said then went over to the nearest tree and sat down under it. |
|
| Saki looked at haruka "then what do i do" saki said slightly annoyed she just wanted to be alone |
|
| "Well,if it where me I would train and get stronger so I could protect myself from the demons" Haruka said as she folded her arms and sat under the tree. |
|
| Saki thought about it for a moment "but who'd train me. you" she said weather she should or not |
|
| "Well....I guess" Haruka said. "Just provide room and board for me and I'll train you." |
|
| Saki surprised she said yes walked over to her "why. why would you help me" |
|
| "Because"Haruka said as she looked down at the ground "I know how it feels to lose a loved one at the hands of a demon." |
|
| Saki feels sadened at that "oh i sorry"she said walking back "come on" |
|
| Haruka looked up and smiled as she stands "Ok, what do you want to do?" |
|
| "well i can get you a bed ready"saki said sadly as she led the way to the house |
|
| "Ok" Haruka said as she followed Saki.She couldn't help but notice how cute this girl really was. |
|
| Saki led haruka to the back of the house to her room "its a bit small but i'll let you have mine"Saki said |
|
| "Ok thanks" Haruka said as she went in and sat down on the futon that was on the floor. |
|
| Saki left the room and went to her parents old room and fell on the bed |
|
| Haruka laid on the bed as she stared at the ceiling. She couldn't stop thinking about her slain love years ago. |
|
| saki started to cry as she could smell her parents scent on the futon |
|
| Haruka could hear Saki's cries and got up. She went in and sat down next to the bed, caressing her head. |
|
| Saki had her face in the pillow crying hard and did not hear haruka come in. she didnt even move when haruka caressed her head |
|
| Haruka just sat there and caressed Saki's head as she cried. "I'm so sorry Saki. I wish I would have gotten here sooner." |

| Saki rolled over and looked up at haruka "i k-know"she said between tears "i-its ok if y-you want to g-get some s-sleep i-i'll be ok" |
|
| "I'm ok" Haruka said as she caressed Saki's cheek. "You just sleep. I'll stay right here." |
|
| "t-thank you" Saki said as she rolled to the edge of the bed curling up |
|
| Haruka leaned back against the wall as she watched Saki sleep, her sword rest against her shoulder and ready for anything. |
