Hi. I've been watching anime a lot recently, and am getting a bit bored of the trope of 'female comes on aggressively/acts suggestively' and the MC gets all flustered and backs away.

I'm looking for anime where the MC doesn't just wimp out, but knows what the girl is doing and turn it back on her, acting like he's all for it, making her embarrassed instead.

Obviously it's not going to be a load of anime, and even if it happens once in an entire series the knowledge that the MC actually has some common sense (and a little bit of cheekiness) would be enough.

Watched Mondaiji, and I am scared to watch Grisaia no Kajitsu (doesn't it have a really unhappy ending?). But Akashic Records is on my PTW list so that's next, thanks!

Okay, just watched Akashic Records, but didn't see anything like I asked for. The MC wasn't the shy type, but none of the girls in the story actually tried to flirt/embarrass him. The only part I can think of is when he barges into the locker room.

The ending isnt unhappy, I watched both seasons. Unhappy things do happen but thats about it.
Maybe Full Metal Panic?

I know it sounds stupid, but I just can't handle animes where bad things happen to the main characters (emotional trauma, death etc.). I tried watching Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru, but about 3/4 of the way in I had to stop because it was hitting too close to home and making me massively depressed.

Full Metal Panic looks a little too old for me, not keen on the art style.

Thanks for trying!

Acchi Kocchi and Amagi Brilliant Park have a couple of scene that come pretty close to what you are asking.
Tsurezure Children has it all!!

I've watched Acchi Kocchi (Completely forgot I had until I saw the page on MAL!), and I was turned off watching Tsurezure Children because of the short episode length. I thought it was a lot shorter than 12 minutes per episode because all the clips I saw on Youtube were 3 mins long, so I'll give it a try now.

Amagi Brilliant Park doesn't seem like something I normally would go for, but I'm willing to give it a try. Thanks!

Akashic Records was a brilliant anime that fits your description. I personally like it and would recommend you to watch that ;)

Like I said, I watched it straight after Nymi recommended it, and didn't see any cases of the MC straight up returning another characters feelings. It was all blushes and tsudere-ness from the girls.

Maybe I am not explaining myself properly, but I don't want the MC to rebuff or ignore flirting from another character, or just brush it off with a awkward laugh. I want them to know, KNOW, that the other character is messing with them, and to turn it right back on them, by pretending that he is all for whatever they suggested, and in turn making the other character embarrassed. Extra points if the MC then just goes back to what they were doing leaving the other character a red-faced mess.

A little but of that happens in Boku was Tomodachi ga Sukanai Next (S2). He knows that a particular girl has feelings for him but acts as if he is dense (but it is shown that he knows her feelings very well). Perhaps that would satisfy you?
