Market

This marketplace is full of activity throughout the day, with many people coming here to buy and sell valuable goods at the many shops located here. Due to its very large size, it can be easy to get lost here, especially if you aren't willing to ask for directions. NPCs can be used in this thread.

The market is located next to the crafting stations in the Commercial District. This district is located directly below the Central District.

Reynal would head to the market with Talia. Since she moved slower with the armor, Talia would have no problems keeping up with her. There were people around the market like usual during this time of day. Well she wouldn't really know about here but in the slums, people would be around like this. Reynal would start moving towards the area where people had crafts such as weaving materials, spices, and dyes. Once there she would make her way to the shop that had paints. Her helmet color was a mixture of quite a few colors. Once she got the colors she wanted and they were packed up in little jars. Reynal would look towards Talia. Well? You needed to get ingredients right? She wold then look at Talia as she now needed to follow her.

Talia would hum happily as she followed the armored knight around, looking around herself a bit and placing the tip of her index finger on the side of her chin, trying to make a mental note of everything she needed. She followed Reynal all the way to where the paint would be sold, and stood back as Reynal bought it. Hearing her voice though, which was slightly darker again due to the helmet, Talia turned her head to Reynal and nodded "Yeah, just a few things, it shouldn't be long" she said and would lead Reynal out of the paint shop. She made sure the two would be walking close to each other as before making her way to any ingreadients, she went to get some weaving material. It was simply normal cloth for tier-less clothing. She had a dress in mind she wanted to make for herself, hence why she needed it. After her purchase, she would make her way to where she could actually buy ingredients for meals "So, anything you don't 'like' to eat?" she asked, emphasizing the 'like' as she wanted to know if there was anything that could cause Reynal harm by eating it.

Seeing Talia walk so close, Reynal would sigh a bit but let the girl. Her sense of personal space was as lacking as ever. Seeing her get some weaving material caused Reynal to raise an unseen eyebrow. You weave? I had to do that all the time back when I was younger. I used to work at a hostess club when I was little and sometimes the guys got too frisky and the girls clothes would get ripped. I had to knit them back up. After she said that and they left. Talia would head to get some ingredients. She asked if there was anything she didn't like. Reynal had eaten a lot of things in life and some of them made her sick to her core. She wasn't adverse to anything other than poison however.

As long as it's not going to kill me or make me sick then I don't care. She would then continue walking with the girl now that her questions was answered.

Hearing Reynal's question, Talia turned her head to the knight again and smiled "I do actually, it's a little hobby of mine, did you not see the material lying around in my bedroom?" she asked softly and made sure to attentively listen to what Reynal had to say about her past, making Talia smile a bit as Reynal actually seemed to be open with her, despite how her story made her remember her own past slightly "Back when I was younger we didn't really get to wear any clothes...I was locked up in the basement of someone's house with some other girls...not wearing anything gave more...access...it was the only thing we were good for...I hated it..." she would say quietly and grip onto the skirt of her dress a bit, her eyes watering for a moment. No one had ever really cared for her, so she feared Reynal too would feel disgust and just leave.

"Once I got out, everyone was wearing such pretty clothes while I had nothing...so I learned how to make some for myself. I mostly make dresses, because they make me feel like an actual princess..I guess that's kind of silly.." she would say and add a weak giggle at the end. She was rather nervous about Reynal's reaction to what she had to say, but either way she would begin looking around to buy some ingredients here and there. From what Reynal said, Talia figured she would be able to make anything and Reynal would eat it aslong as it tasted good, so she bought a variety of things, including herbs, vegetables, meat, fish, etc. Once she was done, she would struggle a bit to hold all the baskets on her own, but barely managed to do so "So...shall we go drop these off?"

Talia reminded Reynal about the fabric that was laying around. She figured it was used for something else. Talia was very strange after all. Maybe when we go back home I can help you. She figured it wouldn't hurt since they both knew the craft. She then told Talia about something cruel that happened to her. It made her think about the fact that humans were not all that different from demons. It seemed to simply be a matter of religion that was separating the races or maybe it was something even deeper. Either way, it seemed dumb that she was punished for things her ancestors did. Both humans and demons were only making the relationship worse as well. Humans by banning demons from places like this and demons for taking advantage of humans when they are kind to them.

Reynal placed a hand on Talia's shoulder and speak with a confident yet seductive voice as always. Well....that's in the past now. You're no longer that girl and it made you who you are today. Maybe if it weren't for that past I wouldn't be alive right now. I thank you. As Talia struggled with the baskets, Reynal held a hand out to see if Talia would give her one. Regardless if she did it or not. She would say Okay, lets go. Since the girl said they would be dropping them off it meant that they would be headed back out. Reynal would leave the area with Talia if she was ready.

Once she heard about the mission program and in particular the purging of demons. Reynal would laugh half heatedly. She actually did not intend to join the mission program. Her wish was to live among humans for as long as she could. She wondered if she could join the cities defense without revealing her identity but she highly doubted it. They would probably want to see her face and she had no reason not to take her helmet off it they asked. She felt her excuses wouldn't be enough and only make her seem suspicious if she resisted taking it off completely.

Being offered help, she grinned happily as she thought of something, something wonderful "Alright, there's two things I want to make, so I trust you'll be able to help me" she said happily. She'd told Reynal about the red dress for herself, but wouldn't say anything about the second thing she'd just thought of making. Not that it mattered to much as she would now make it with or without the help, she had the material needed for her second idea at home already. After her little ramble, she would feel Reynal's hand..well, the gauntlet of her armor covering it touching her shoulder.

Talia looked up at the blue eyes that could still be seen through the armor and listened, smiling a bit as Reynal's words didn't make much sense to her, but were still sweet "I don't know what you would thank me for, as I don't really think you'd be dead, BUT you're very welcome anyway" she said, and once struggling with her baskets, she would gladly give one to Reynal without hesitation. She took a deep breath and nodded her head, leaving back to her house with Reynal. On the way there, she would hear the speech about the mission program as the voice could be heard over the entire Golden Dawn. She did want to drop her stuff off before going anywhere.

Thankfully for her, Da Ryl didn't get to fully understand her first sentence back at the house, and instead took it as a random mumble, probably out of irritation due to what he just did. After leaving Te Resa's house, Da Ryl walked about with her and asked some locals for directions, and shortly afterwards they were at the marketplace. The atmosphere was similar to the one found in the airport, being full of people and activity everywhere you looked at. Since he never cooked for her, Da Ryl had no idea what Re Resa usually ate, but something warned him that it'd be something really far from what his survival cooking could take him. "Any preferences as to food, Te Resa? As I said before, I'm not a great cook, just enough to make us some edible food, so I'll probably not be able to reach your standards." Talking with her, Da Ryl traversed the market while looking at the available food, which was quite diversified; he firstly stopped by to get a pretty big venison, and then some sausage and tomatoes to go along. Since Golden Dawn was the one paying, he even got some spices to use in the meat, thing that he normally skipped due to high price.

Once he got enough to make a good vineson, he'd wait for Te Resa to pick something too, waiting by her side in the market. "Want to get something specific for dinner? Or the house?" He would follow her and help her to get things around the market if she wanted to.

Euthalia Apricot

It wasn't long after having left the airport, and having gone through several streets, that she realized she had gotten rather lost. 'Strange. Normally, I'll eventually enter nature if I keep walking long enough. This place seems to just keep bringing up more streets and buildings. It's as if there is no forest of any sort whatsoever.' In fact, it felt as if the place in which she had ended up, was only more crowded. 'I guess I'd better just ask someone which way I should go.' She approached one of the stalls, asking the person behind it in Common “Greetings, I am Euthalia Apricot. Would you know the quickest way to the forest?” However, she just got stared at, until the person finally pointed in a direction and said “there's a park that way.” “You have my gratitude.”

Sadly enough, pointing in 'that way' wasn't quite specific enough, and Euthalia soon found herself to be lost once more. It was around the time at which she debated asking for directions a second time, that she noticed two people whom stood out in their own right. (Assuming that Te Resa has followed Da Ryl Werdisen, as the earlier post said she would.) Both of them were De Des, or Ka Des to be more specific. They seemed to be carrying water around, which Euthalia had noticed to be common among De Des.

One of them (Te Resa) stood out for the bright red color of her hair and fur. It formed a fairly stark contrast with the black leather she wore, as well is with the parts of her fur that were grey. She also seemed to be adorned with some type of jewellery that suggested her to be living the 'wealthier' life. The other one (Da Ryl) stood out for having a rather large scar under his eye, and for his overall 'rough' appearance. It made him look like a warrior of sorts, which the leather armour and weapons seemed to confirm. 'Maybe they're some sort of guards?' Euthalia wasn't sure, as the groceries that the male one was carrying seemed to suggest otherwise, but if they were indeed guards, they'd surely be able to point her in the right direction.

Seeing no harm in asking, Euthalia approached the two of them. When she had approached them close enough, she made a short bow and said, in Roak; “Greetings.” Roak wasn't a language she spoke perfectly, so her Sylvan accent would shimmer through. Even so, she continued in Roak; “I am Euthalia Apricot, and I am currently looking for a place to take root.” She wasn't sure if these De Des would know what she meant with it, so she decided to add; “One of the humans told me that there was a forest they call 'park' somewhere, would either of you happen to know how I can get there?” (She would say 'park' in Common, as she doesn't know the Roak word for it. The rest is still in Roak.)

Te Resa Sunair

Once they arrived at the market, there were still people out in the market. Te Resa was afraid of how it looked when it was day time. Da Ryl went around and asked her if here was anything she preferred. She honestly just came to make sure he wasn't going to buy any alcohol for the food. As long as you don't put any liquor in it I'll probably eat it....probably. I'll admit I haven't had much of an appetite since I came here but I'm hungry enough at this point to eat almost anything. He then got a few ingredients and asked if she wanted anything specific for the house. She thought about what they could possibly need at the house. Now that she thought about it they did need some more water. She was out and there was none in the house to drink unless it was from the tap. That didn't sound to appealing to her however. We should buy some water...fresh...good water. That was one thing she did get a taste for as royalty. Nothing less than fresh water.

Suddenly a tall leafy woman walked towards the two of them and bowed to them. Te Resa was used to random people coming up to her and bowing to her however she wasn't fond of it when it happened. Surprisingly she spoke in their native language. Te Resa didn't know something so leafy would possibly go anywhere near Kal Lath. She said greetings and introduce herself as Euthalia Apricot, something Te Resa would remember as she thought the last name was cute. It even made her giggle a little. She did mention how she was looking for a place to 'take root'. She had ever met a plant girl before so she wasn't quite sure what she meant. She also wasn't sure if Euthalia knew they were on an island in the sky. She then asked for a forest called the park. Noticing that park was the only word she said in common. Her pranking nature wanted to come forth and speak back in Roak to the plant girl. Seeing her make an attempt to talk in their language...it was a very amusing situation. Te Resa would nudge Da Ryl with her elbow and take a step forwards to the tall plant girl with a grin.

In Roak she would say. Don't you know we are on a mehroonski? This place has a large lack of ground you can 'root' to I would think. If you are really determined...the park is just beyond the residential district. We can take you there if you want. Isn't that right Da Ryl? Te Resa really wanted to see how exactly Euthalia would react the lack of plant life that was likely to be in the park. Te Resa hasn't been there yet so she didn't know herself but she didn't think it would be much considering they were on a sky island that was so industrialized. A small Aurian urchin would walk past Te Resa, bump into her and slide a note in her hand. They would then quickly apologize for bumping into her and run off. Te Resa would leer at the boy and then at the small parchment but quickly ball up her fist to hide it and slide it into her leather top in her bosom.

Upon hearing Te Resa's answer, Da Ryl raised an eyebrow. "You seem to have got the wrong impression out of me; I don't drink until I pass out on every single opportunity I get. Anyway, I can abide to that." Since he had no idea about Te Resa's preferences, he decided that a good vineson would do as well as any other food.

Her other request was fresh water, an item not that hard to get in a big marketplace such as the one in Golden Dawn. As he started to look for that with Te Resa, they were stopped by a woman with some plant features. "A Sylvari, huh?" Aside from the various leaves sprouting from and around her body, the other characteristic that made her stand out was her height: she was taller than both of them, and Da Ryl would take a hunch on her having about 2m height. Even more surprising, she spoke Roak, albeit with some accent, but it was still understandable.
After feeling Te Resa poke him, he watched as the girl spoke back in Roak too, seemingly having fun with the situation, and he eventually replied in Roak. "I think so; I don't know much about this place yet, but I guess we could ask for some info in any case." He didn't notice the boy bumping onto Te Resa, instead being occupied with buying a gallon of water from a nearby vendor to take back to Te Resa's house. If they were ready, Da Ryl would leave the area with them towards the park.

Euthalia Apricot

Rather than choosing to introduce herself, or answer Euthalia's question, the red furred De Des choose to reply with a counter-question. It was a question regarding her knowledge of Golden Dawn's geographical position as an island, although Euthalia couldn't place the 'ski' part of the word. Going by logic, it could either refer to 'sky' or 'without forest.' The first would make sense linguistically, while the latter would make sense with regards to the De Des' comment about the lack of ground to 'root.' 'Strange. It seems to me that large enough sky islands like this would surely have their own forests, seeing how all needed factors apply. It has enough rain, the climate works well, the land area is easily large enough... Most types of trees would grow here, so there should definitely be some forests, unless the soil in the rest of the island is as horrible as it was at the airport...' Regardless, it seemed like the red furred De Des was willing to show her the way to the 'park' the human behind the stall had mentioned previously. Whatever the exact meaning was, it would most likely be shown to her once they found this 'park' thing.

The other De Des, whom she assumed to be called 'Da Ryl' by the way the red furred De Des had referred to him, followed the example that the red furred one had given. He didn't introduce himself, nor did he give a direct answer. Instead, he suggested they could 'ask for some info.' Euthalia wasn't exactly sure what he meant with it, partially because she didn't know the exact meaning of 'info' and partially because she did not have a clue whom they intended to ask. 'Is he planning to ask others about forests on my behalf?' Slightly confused, Euthalia decided it would be impolite and counterproductive to refuse their offer, despite their rudeness. So, in Roak, she would reply; “I would highly appreciate being shown the way, as it seems like there is no end to these streets to me.” She didn't think much of the boy whom had bumped into Te Resa and left, as her mind was occupied with finding the correct words in Roak, as well as with her puzzlement regarding the difficulty of finding a forest here. She would follow Te Resa and Da Ryl and leave the area once they would start moving in order to show her the way.

Te Resa would clap as the decision had been made. No one seemed to notice or care about the note which was advantages to Te Resa. There seemed to have been a lot on both Da Ryl and Euthalia's mind at the time. Te Resa just wanted to see how the tall plant lady would react to the sky island. Either way they would leave the area to the park After Da Ryl bought the water.

He smiled happily as he arrived at the Market with Amaer, fingers locked with hers as he took a deep breath, taking in smells he found to be wonderful, while also making out some smells of things that were possibly harmful to him. It seemed there were ingredients of all sorts around, so there would most likely be nothing to worry about "Let's start looking around" he suggested, turning to Amaer and giving her a warm smile, enjoying the company of the beautiful and kind girl, finding her to be a wonderful friend.

If she accepted his offer, he would begin walking around with her, keeping their hands locked as the street was always a bit busy with people walking around and purchasing things, so it would be easy to get lost if he'd let go. He would move to the most important stalls to them at the moment, that being the ingredients for meals, where he immediately began picking out some stuff. Using his nose and knowledge of his own specie's diet, he tried to avoid the meat by picking out some fruits, vegetables and herbs that he would be able to eat without further problems. Yet despite his efforts, he had to buy some meat, yet kept the amount to a minimum and would have an apologetic look on his face as he made the purchase, knowing that Amaer would have to live with the knowledge that he would be eating it at some point.

As they were walking hand in hand Amaer looked around the stalls, scanning the goods with her gaze to see what would work well for her and what she suspected won't work for Les. She had some common knowledge about the diet of canines, but she wasn't 100% sure all she knows was correct. She will have to ask him later.

"Ok, let's go." Amaer replied with a gentle smile before walkin with him. Their hand-holding was solely for security, to avoid getting lost from each other, nothing more. They would eventually stop at some stalls, buying pretty basic stuff for meals. At first Les started picking fruit, vegetables and herbs, things that Amaer could also eat easily, but then she saw him reach for the meat. She looked somewhat sadly when he picked it up, but she saw his apologetic look. She had to understand that he has to eat meat, that's the gist of living with someone of a different species.

"Is there anything else we need?" Amaer asked, inspecting their purchases. What they had now would be enough for a couple of decent meals, but she will have to give some money back To Les when they return to the house, as he payed for everything before she could say anything

Seeing that Amaer actually looked sad as he bought some meat only made him feel worse, yet it was something he couldn't just leave to the side. He did tell himself that he would try to only prepare some whenever they would eat seperately. Whenever they were to eat together, he would try to eat vegetarian aswell, although it would be a bit harder for him since he would have to inspect every ingredient as he did not have any intentions of dying.

Soon enough, their purchases had all been made. Walking around and shopping while holding hands, they received some strange looks that he didn't really understand, but he didn't think much of it, as it was nothing special "I think that's everything, shall we go back and cook dinner then?" he told her kindly, having made sure to also get simple herbs and such that Ari would be able to eat regularly. If she accepted his offer, he would give her a friendly smile and leave the area with her. If she didn't want to go yet however, he would follow her wherever she would decide to go for now.

As they were walking around, hand in hand, people gave them weird looks. Amaer didn't really suspect what was the real reason, tho. Maybe they were looking weird because she is a Forest Elf and people saw her buy meat with her friend? Yeah, that could be it.

Les had told her that he thinks they got everything they need, suggesting to go back and cook dinner. Amaer would have loved to stay outside and explore the city more, as she didn't know how much time she will actually have for that tomorrow, but she had to admit it was getting pretty late. "We should head back. We need to get up early so we go to the morning briefing." she explained her reasoning, then they would leave the area

Carrying the hunt of the day Yuuto made his way through the comercial districts market heading towards the shop where he usually sold his valuables, he hadn't been here for long so he wasn't sure which store had the best deals but the one he frequented to had reasonable prices he could pay for. There wasn't any reason in specific why he would go to the same one all the time, maybe it was just habit. Money wasn't exactly an issue after all Yuuto spent his nights camping in the outskirts of Golden Dawn but money always came in handy so it was best to keep saving up like this plus he would like to eventually get a place in town.
"Once I get all this stuff to the store I should head over to the central district" Earlier that day the young kitsune had found a flier and asked the directions to this place and now that he was done with his daily routine he was planning on going over and having a look at it.

Te Resa enter the Market with Da Ryl, she noticed something about him that wouldn't really pass while walking. You slouch when you walk. Stand straight up, otherwise you look scary. Also I remember you are not the neatest eater, we need to work on that when we get home. Once they would fine their way to the Tanner, Te Resa would ask them for something formal for Da Ryl. She wondered if they should wear the same colors since they were arriving together. She would then ask for something tan as she was wearing a tan dress most likely.

Da Ryl followed Te Resa out of the headquarters, going back to the city market he visited yesterday. Along the way, Da Ryl found out that Te Resa's class had already started. Smirking, he straightened his back and lifted his head while looking at Te Resa. "Alright, teacher. As for eating, I could just do it like you and not eat at all, right?" He still rembembered the previous meeting, when she refused to eat just because Jorge was in the room.

Not long after, they arrived at a tanner shop, where Te Resa promptly went looking for formal clothes. This was most likely one of the hardest parts, as he had never wore any formal clothing before; they seemed far too clumsy to walk around with, while also being far too expensive for no seeming reason. For now, he put the thought away and simply followed Te Resa around, looking at the available clothing.

When Da Ryl stood up straight she couldn't help but look a bit in awe at his new found height. He then made a comment about eating which Te Resa had a counter argument for. She raised a finger and said. Ah, but what if you are offered food? It will be rude to decline if it's from the woman herself. She seems like the difficult type so I wouldn't suggest making any excuses.

Just then she ran into someone or more so they ran into her. Te Resa quickly checked her pockets and her necklace to see if she had everything. Once that was confirmed she would stare at Yuuto and narrow her eyes. It's fine...just watch out who you bump into. It wasn't often she was bumped into like this. She wondered if he was sent as another messenger. Since he hadn't said or done anything else however Te Resa would say Good Day. and enter the shop. There she would look around for something in Da Ryl's size. A black tuxedo usually fit De Des men the best from what she saw. So she'd find something and hold it to Da Ryl.
