Anime/Manga with great storyline?

Looking for an anime or manga (don't care which) that has a great story and preferably one with a dark/serious undertone (Although that isnt a must).

For example Berserk, Claymore, FMA, AoT, Death Note, Parasyte etc..

Basically just want an anime that hooks you in like the ones listed above do. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm surprised no one suggested it yet but Monster is a great watch, somewhat similar to death note, but less 1v1 and more realistic http://myanimelist.net/anime/19/Monster

I just finished this manga called Liar Game thanks to someone's recommendation here. It's very similar to Death Note, ingenious stuff in there really with a lot of psychology parts involved. It'll take you forever to read it thoroughly and follow what's going on sometimes but around ch 30ish it gets really intricate. 201 chapters total.
